One of the most famous orchestras in the world, I grew up listening to and appreciating the programs by Karajan, so it was really rewarding to finally come to the venue and attend a concert of my childhood dream. The outside of philharmonic building was not that impressive, but the inside music hall and its acoustics really is top of the world. I will subscribe Digital Concert Hall service to watch and appreciate the programs at Berlin Philharmonic all year long! I came to visit twice the temple of classical music. Cheers!

I went to the free lunch concert on Wednesdays of young future musicians. It was very emocional and impressive. I am planing to go every time I can. It’s unique and hopefully impacts me in an other ways.

I saw that they offered a free lunchtime concert and made sure to add it to my itinerary! I arrived an hour early and there was already a short queue to get in. Once inside, there is free coat check. You can pretty much sit wherever there’s a spot available! As you can see, some folks are just sitting on the stairway. Luckily as I was early, I was able to go lineup and grab a bowl of goulash along with a glass of wine to enjoy the show (~10€). The sound really carries in the venue and it was a wonderful way to spend an hour or so of my day, highly recommended. Absolutely beautiful music and performance!

Wir waren zur 9. Sinfonie von Beethoven. Das Klangerlebnis war einmalig. Beim 4.

Ask for FFP2 mask all time for over 3 hours performance indoor while the gov regulation requires only medical mask. Also they have seats FULLY open so that everyone seats besides each other shoulder by shoulder without keeping audiences 1.5m distance from each other… hard to understand their logic.

Much more beautiful inside than outside. We attended the piano concert of Chopin by Sachiko Furuhata, an unforgettable evening. She was indeed magical.

Great acoustics. Choose carefully the performing orchestra as it can be a hit or miss. Go for Berlin Philharmoniker if you can. Not the others.

I came for the Wednesday lunchtime concert and it was amazing. The music was so good and it's such a cool thing to offer these free events. The space filled up very quickly, so I didn't have a great spot where I could see the stage, but even in the foyer the sound carries so well and I could still hear the music perfectly. Interesting building as well, I need to come back to see inside some of the stages sometime!

Beautifully acoustically perfect venue with virtually no bad seat possible for listening to a whole raft of music genres. If you are into music and live in Berlin, this is a must visit. Cheaper seats at the top are still fantastic for sound, so you don't need to spend a lot for the front row. There are cloakrooms on more than one level, so don't panic and queue up on the ground floor. There are less queues the higher you go. Book in advance and try late availability as it's hardly ever completely full. One other tip would be to really look at your tickets and take note of where you will be sitting as I have been twice now and on both occasions we saw people being moved as they were sitting in the wrong seat. These were not tourists, but Germans, but even so, for us non Germans please note that in Germany they split auditoriums like this into rechts(right} or links(left) and label seats identically in both. In other words, there are 2 seats with the same seat number on them. There is a map just by main entrance on the left as you go into the building, and this has proven very helpful. Arrive 30 mins before the performance and enjoy.

Architecture of the 60s with pretty suspensions. Access to a garden or to the terrace when the weather is nice, it's very pleasant. Medium comfort seats. We can see almost all the places and the acoustics are good. Possibility to park your bike in front of the Philharmonie! (Original) Perfect place. Mozart symphonie. Fantastic experience. We went for The Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35 by Tchaikovsky with Lisa batiashvili as 🎻. It was an amazing night, it was to celebrate the new year’s of 2017 and it was mesmerising. The building itself is also very interesting and you can not admire this amazing place, the sheer grandness and acoustics is second to none. Thank you all so much for a wonderful evening to remember.

Joined a public tour of the Berlin Philharmonic building. Fantastic! The tour was relaxed and informal. We got lots of really good information and we got to see both halls from the inside: the large concert hall and the smaller one. Fascinating! Interesting aspect that the whole building has a very democratic aspect. From last minute reduced tickets to access for all. At the end of the €10 tour we received free codes for the online digital concert series.

I attended a private event here and found the experience very nice. The space is large and was able to hold many people. The inside of the concert hall is beautiful and designed in a way that allows for all guests to have a good viewing and listening experience no matter their location. I look forward to returning for a public concert.

Nice architecture! A landmark building from the early 60s right at the edge of Tiergarten park. The textured yellow/mustard colored facade cladding makes this building unique in many ways.

Amazing concert hall, every seat has a view of some or all of the orchestra. The seats are banked such that it would need to be an exceptionally tall person in front to restrict your view. The design of the roof increases the acoustic balance. Fabulous performances full of energy, emotion and vitality. Visited on 28/9/2023

Excellent venue for classical music performances. Most seats allow for a balanced sound profile, only very close to the stage one instrument group might become too dominant. Only caveat: Berlin audiences tend to be noisy. Coughing, unpacking of bonbons, talking. Can spoil a concert.

I’m writing this from the performer’s view! Lovely feeling hall on stage, you can ‘connect’ with the audience easily as they’re all around you, acoustically it is a joy, & comfortable on stage! Plenty of backstage space with a good canteen/bar service (friendly staff), & changing rooms lovely & large, but couldn’t find many backstage toilets, but wow the air con must’ve been on economy mode because it was too hot everywhere! Otherwise I feel privileged to have had the the opportunities over the years to play here & look forward to my next visit!

The structure is as attractive from outside as inside. Inside there are different levels for the sections. The space is huge. The Orchestra is very good as expected. I saw an excellent concert here - Deutsches Symphonieorchester Berlin, Rundfunkchor Berlin, Siobhan Stagg (soprano), Andis Poga (conductor) and Rheinhold Messner! The first half was a world premiere of a piece written during the pandemic, which I liked very much, and the second half was Strauss's Alpensinfonie with Messner reading excerpts from his adventures. Very moving and spectacular musicianship all around.

Really beautiful concert. There's not long in the interval and some of the bars weren't accepting card payments so we didn't manage to get a drink, so I recommend pre booking for interval drinks. There are English subtitles but they were very high up behind the orchestra so we couldn't see them. This didn't take too much away from the beautiful singing and playing though, it was an amazing experience.

Truly a world class, one of a kind Concert Hall or rather Philharmonic Hall. Impressive architecture, impeccably designed acoustics and well thought of seatings for thousands. Accordingly, the Maestro conductor and members of the Orchestra tend to be world class as well. Incredible venue. Sound quality was fantastic. Accessibility seemed good, but of course everyone has different needs, so for those with mobility impairments, I suggest researching ahead of time and possibly contacting the concert hall ahead of time for more info. Very large capacity. Okay selection of drinks, limited food options. Gift shop was cute, some interesting items for sale, many many CDs (mostly classical/orchestral music), and a display case containing some awards.

Taking one star away as the Kammermusiksaal is really not that nice. If you are a frequent classical concert goer like me, you probably choose a concert based on the program but if you are just there for an experience, my advice is look for a concert in the main hall (Großer Saal). The acoustics in the smaller hall (Kammermusiksaal) is not as nice, personally I feel like the echo is too strong and the sound is scattering all over the place, especially obvious when someone is singing.

The listening experience is great regardless of where you sit. But you might mind sitting at the 'back' of the musicians as the concentric design is unusual.
