We had a fantastic experience on this 2 hour free walking tour starting at the Brandenburg gate and winding through the city to finish at Checkpoint Charlie. Our tour guide Dom was fantastic and gave us loads of interesting information and facts. Would highly recommend doing this on your trip to Berlin, helps you get orientated to the city and learn some really interesting historical information

Super good experience taking the free tour with Ernestina! You should book in in advance through the website. Ernestina was super energetic, although it was her 3rd tour in the day. In our case the tour finished a bit later (10 min). Consider that in your schedule since many things are going on in Berlin streets and you can get normally delayed. The company has an arrangement with a bar to use the bathroom and wifi, so they plan a 4 min stop to take a short break, which i thought was pretty good. Payments are with credit cards only, not cash (first exception that i saw in my life here in Germany!) Normally free walking tours suggest a tip 15-20 euros per person, definitely worth it!

We did the walking tour with Rodrigo and he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and friendly with a sense of humour. We did want to give a tip but by the time we came back from the ATM with cash he was gone. If you can please let us know how to get a tip to him that would be wonderful, as he deserves it. Highly recommend.

Ernestina was such a great tour guide for my Berlin walking tour! She was very knowledgeable and kept the entire group engaged with facts and stories and was able to answer every question we asked. She diligently covered the hard parts of Berlin’s history with grace and left everyone much more knowledgeable about Berlin than when we started. Overall, the tour was absolutely amazing and I cannot recommend Ernestina enough!

The tour in itself was already an insightful activity to get to know Berlin a little bit more with the multitudes of stories and meanings that those places evoke to any visitor. Plus, our tour guide was awesome for sharing with us not only the official story about the sites we visited in the middle of Berlin, she also made it more comfortable and interesting with her passion for cultural heritage and her exciting storytelling.

We love taking Sandemans tours but given the amount of history that Berlin has, we felt our your guide wasent as great. We highly recommend doing free walking tours when you first arrive to a city, but this tour in particular wasn't as good as others we have had with Sandemans. It for sure depends on the your guide.

Our guide was Marcel and he was excellent - very knowledgeable and very patient and keen to find out about people taking the tour. I could have handled a longer tour no bother but this duration was ideal as we had kids with us. Not sure why people say you HAVE to pay a certain amount. When we were on the tour the emphasis was very much on pay what you think it’s worth.

This is a 2-hour walking tour in a circumspect area of Berlin that hits all the important highlights - Brandenburg gate, Berlin Wall, Memorial to the Murdered Jews, Hitler’s bunker and more. This tour ended close to Checkpoint Charlie. Our guide, Steve, who is American but has long assimilated to life in Berlin, conducted a well-paced, informative, funny and introspective tour. He also allowed time for photos and for us to reflect on the enormity of the events that took place there. So, for me, it was perfect. The 5 of us enjoyed it enormously and this tour is a perfect teaser to learn more about Berlin. Whatever your tip is going to be, double it. Ask for Steve. Enjoy!!

Had a great tour. Very informative and awesome. I had an american guy from NYC as the guide who lived in Berlin for like 17 years and he was amazing. Forgot his name now but what a great tour. Highly recommend.

Had an awesome, really informative walking tour with Marcel. He was knowledgeable and made the stops really interesting by sharing personal and historical links. We are super glad to have participated in the walk. Thank you so much- we would highly recommend to anyone.

I have been to 51 countries and Dustin's "communism and cold war" tour was my favorite ever. He is an incredible story teller, and a wealth of knowledge. Would definitely do this tour again next time.

Marcel was a great tour guide. Very enthusiastic despite the freezing cold weather. During the tour you pass by many of the highlights of the city of Berlin. Would recommend doing this during your stay in the city!

I took the two hour walking tour with Nir, starting at the Brandenburg Gate and ending at Checkpoint Charlie. It was a lovely tour, especially considering it was free. Nir was knowledgeable, charming and passionate about the time period that the tour encapsulated. We even got to stop for a coffee break.

Best tour of Berlin ever!!!!!! Cristóbal was our tour guide and he was absolutely incredible —such a wealth of knowledge, super engaging, inspiring, energetic, warm, funny and really made it an unforgettable experience. I am Jewish and have been wanting to come to Germany for a while to better understand the history. Cristóbal made it easy, accessible, and I learned so much. My partner Noah and I already signed up for his Third Reich tour in a couple days. Such rich history in this city and Cristobal made it all come to life. Thanks again!!!

Berlin ist historisch gesehen eine wirklich einzigartige Stadt. Die Führung war sehr informativ und hat mich angeregt, für eine längere Zeit nach Berlin zu kommen und alle Museen anzuschauen! Te Guide from California is super friendly and ready to give you advice on any topic you need. She also has a list with bars and Cafes in the city😉

This was my first time in Berlin. The free tour was recommended by another tourist. We went to the top places I had plan to attend. This was a great start and introduction to Berlin. I don’t remember the guide’s name but it was a young lady who was very knowledgeable and informative. Although it was free, I tipped her 15 euros as I think she definitely deserve to be pay for this great tour. Highly recommend!

We had the pleasure of Estibaliz giving us the walking tour. She’s incredibly knowledgeable and her ability to deliver and engage us is fantastic. She even got to know us individually before we started the tour. Would highly recommend this walk, as you got to see the major parts in Berlin. Good luck on your doctorate Estibaliz!!

My friend and I took the free Berlin walking tour with Ernestina and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We learned so much about the city and our tour guide was phenomenal. She was super passionate and knowledgeable about the complex history of this city and kept the entire group captivated with her ability to spread knowledge and stories. We were only in the city for a short time, but feel that all the insight we gained made this trip worthwhile. We highly recommend!

I did the free walking tour with Ernestina, and so glad I did! She was great - very passionate and knowledgeable and kept everyone captivated for the entire tour. I would highly recommend spending a couple hours of your Berlin visit taking this tour (even for a weekend trip!), as it really enhanced my experience of the city.

We had a wonderful experience on our walking tour! Our tour guide was Hannah and she was full of energy and information about the city and its history. She was very entertaining to listen to and easy to understand. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn about the city in an interesting and interactive way.

We had a great time at this tour. It was our first time in Berlin and this was a great way of learning and seeing the city at the same time. Hannah was our tour guide and she was AMAZING! She was very knowledgeable and energetic making the tour very interesting. Highly recommended.

(Translated by Google) Free free tour, whereby of course the guide has to and should earn some money on a tip basis. The good thing about this system is, for example, that you reward the guide after the tour and if you are not satisfied, the wages can of course be lower. We really enjoyed our tour with Dom. There are of course a few minimal compromises for the free tour. Expensive tours equip you with a headset, etc. - the sound is always good. This is the only shortcoming. Both tour, guide and content was great. Organization via Sandeman also worked great.

So far I've had only positive experiences with Sandeman's walking tours - now having done them in Paris, London, Barcelona, Berlin and Amsterdam. It's my go to tour on day 1 to understand the layout of a new city. This tour in Berlin was especially great because of our FANTASTIC guide Ernestina - full of energy, knowledge and took great care of the group as we walked through the city.

(Translated by Google) We were on the tour a week ago and we are absolutely thrilled. Entertaining, interesting, full of commitment and with lots of information. Our guide was Jules (short hair, lots of tattoos, round glasses) and she was really amazing. Make sure you get a tour with her!
