It’s really neat to see the sea glass, however the side of the hill covered with trash was very sad. I don’t understand why they don’t clean that up. When I say covered I mean covered layers upon layers. Take some of that $40 fee you’re charging for people to visit Bermuda and clean it up.

A neat place to stop in at and check out... the glass is everywhere, tumbled in every colour, and has even been incorporated into various pieces of concrete artwork. The kids enjoyed time on the swing there as well.

Nice, smallish, beautiful beach. Walked about 30 minutes from the cruise port on the last morning of my trip and had plenty of time to get back for 2pm all-aboard. Water was gorgeous. Water shoes are recommended as the beach is partly sand and partly rocks+glass. There is some shade which is great for leaving your bag. Beach did not appear accessible to those who can’t do stairs. I enjoyed my time.

It’s a cliche that one man’s trash is another’s treasure, but this beach makes it true. A former dump site, where broken bottles have been turned into works of folk art by the tide, time and a bit of cement, wood, glass and paint. Bring a bottle or two to break and add to the seaglass beach.

Very interesting place! I don’t know what I was expecting. It’s literally called glass Beach. And there’s pieces of glass everywhere that are buffed down. It’s a shame that you can’t take some of these pieces of glass. It is forbidden by the parks and recreation. But it’s a pretty nice place!

Nice little beach to check out with thousands, if not millions of pieces of glass, instead of sand.

Bermuda has so many beaches. This one is known for sea glass. It's everywhere. Another beautiful stop.

Probably not worth the trip if only a short time in Bermuda. Sure it's unique but it's not maintained and looks like the glass isn't as abundant as some of the professional pictures taken of the place. It's about a 20 minute walk from the naval dock yard or a 50 minute bus ride from Hamilton... If you walk from the dockyard be aware there are no sidewalks and cars will have to avoid you if they pay attention

Yes, lots of glass but it comes from the years of garbage bags buried in the side hill. Disappointing to see so much trash falling in the ocean with every big storm. Walk in either direction and you'll see plenty of trash along the shoreline. I'll be happy with the piece or 2 of sea glass we find on the clean beaches at home.

Empty place. No swimming, no amenities. Nothing to do there at all.

A unique experience for Bermuda; a not very pink beach covered in broken glass that's worn smooth. The results are a curiosity not to everyone's taste.

OMG! Nothing but sea glass underfoot! Sea glass collectors Heaven. Easy walk over the bridge from the Dock Yards and take the road / pathway to the right. It will turn into a dirt path taking you directly to the little beach. Amazing!

This should be renamed garbage beach - broken bottles that the ocean have warn smooth, discarded iron, broken dock, railings from someplace else thrown down there like it was an afterthought. Not worth the time spent to walk down the stairs.

The beach is behind some run down buildings and seems to be a dumping ground. What's left of the sea glass is cool I guess.

It's a great beach if you don't want to ride bus and to go somewhere that is not crowded and near. It's something new for me and free. Worth a visit.

Note: You are not supposed to remove the glass. We ended up walking to this beach from the Dock Yard (15-20 minute walk). It was a good walk and there were sidewalks for most of the walk. Because we ended up walking we actually entered the beach from the far end and not the usual entrance where it says not to remove the glass. We did not take any glass but just wanted to let others know that you are not suppose to. That being said there is a lot of glass there! Most of it is green or brown but if you search long enough you can find some blue. It is beautiful. i guess it used to have a lot more glass but it has slowly decreased over time due to tourists visiting. Anyways, if visit Bermuda you must stop and see this destination.

Don't bother coming here. When we visited (September) it did not look as how it was shown in photos at all. Based on these photos we were expecting a beach where instead of sand there are glass pieces. But the glass was very seldom. On top of that the beach is quite run down with no amenities, and worst of all it was very dirty.

It's really cool to see. It's not a big beach or anything but if you like sea glass you'll love this place.

It's a public beach, no entrance fee. Location-wise, it's on the other end of the island, away far from Hamilton. IMHO, unless you are already in the Dockyard area, it's not really worth the drive just to see this beach.

Overrated spot. IT IS FREE, but Small beach that doesn't compare to another on the island. Cab out or 20 minute walk out the Royal Dockyard is NOT worth the stop. It is illegal to take any glass from the beach. The only time it is worth a QUICK STOP just to say u where there is if you rented a twizzy or moped. Otherwise, don't waste your time.

Worth a visit!!! There was also a small trail to get there which is neat. I do agree might need some maintenance to clean up and fix a little however I thought it was neat to see the creativity here! Easy walk if you are docked for a cruise. 🛳️

Such a beautiful sight. Never would have imagined you could see so much beach glass in one small spot.

  • 2/5 Chris H. 2 years ago on Google
Could be made into a nice attraction, but it is unloved, abandoned and rubbish everywhere, was hard to enjoy it. Dont bother unless walking past like we were.

  • 2/5 Ags 2 years ago on Google
The sad truth about glass beach is that it was a dump site in the past and now all the old rubbish in the land gets uncovered by the water. It would be beautiful if the rubbish piles were sorted out

Very beautiful place ..... a little tough to get to and is unfortunate that you can't take any glass ...... but I guess if you could there wouldn't be any ...... lol

It just needs a little love. Broken sharp bottles everywhere. Wear good footwear. It’s quite pretty. I wish some people would take some initiative and clean it up. It won’t require much to clean.

I actually loved this location for the creativity and how it was off the beaten path but I know that many people expect facilities when they go to a beach here. This is more of a locals Beach. Remember not to take any of the class when you go. I really enjoyed the Bermudian graffiti with the glass. I took many pictures and must have sat for 3 hours in the shade.

  • 4/5 Mark B. 1 year ago on Google
Glass Beach is appropriately named as there is broken glass everywhere and the concrete walls are bejeweled with glass. The glass was dulled by the surf and sand so you can walk on it. A conveniently located beach about 30-40 minutes walk from the Royal Naval Dockyard.

  • 4/5 James N. 1 year ago on Google
Walked from the cruise port. Took 20 minutes or so. As others have said, there is a sidewalk most of the way, but not all. Although other side they noticed lots of other trash at the beach and we saw mostly what was an old car pushed down the hillside and that was about it. Maybe they've cleaned the other trash recently? As far as the glass itself. I thought it was neat but despite signs saying *not* to remove the glass, we saw other visitors taking entire ziplock bags worth of it out with them....

The actual glass pieces are beautiful but the place is super trashed/creepy, very sad. Also carful, there is broken glass everywhere too; the actual sea glass is not sharp but there is broken beer bottles around, watch your step.

25 mins of walk from the dockyard. Most of time you are staying on the side walk, except the two times where you have to step into the traffic about 20 meters each. If you have 1.5 hours to kill before boarding the ship, why not give it a visit. I need Google map to get there, on the way back just walk towards the ship.

Pretty cool beach. I went barefoot and my wife did as well, she cut her foot, so either consider wearing swim shoes or be really careful where you walk. 99% of the glass is smooth, but I found a few pieces that could potentially cut you. Otherwise really beautiful. When we went it was overcast, but still really with visiting. The water was very cold, but If it was hot out I couldn't imagine that being an issue. It was about a 30-45 minute walk one way from the cruise port, depending on how quickly you walk.

Beautiful little less-travelled beach. I was told by a Bermudan to swim before leaving, so I did do here. I found yellow and purple coral on the rocks at waist deep, little silver and blue fish...

Beautiful beach with sea glass everywhere. Take pictures, not sea glass. It is posted that you can not take any. Our family loved looking at all pieces of glass and taking pictures. We did find a few shells also.

Glass Beach (Seaglass Beach) is where to go for a uniquely colorful island experience. Located behind a strip of row houses, Glass Beach has some great sights; however, it’s rather anticlimactic. Please also walk with care as not all of the glass is fully worn so may have sharp edges. Though it’s a tourist attraction, many locals think it’s nothing more than trash. While you’re there, check out the nearby Convict Cemetery, just to the east of the steps to the beach.

What a great surprise... So your stuck in port and don't want to pay for an excursion... Walk here...the glass is interesting, the view is beautiful and bring a suit...there's a beach and great water. I think it was about a 20 - 30 min. Walk.

Access to beach tricky but lots of sea washed glass. A lot of rocks in this area but a good swimming beach about a 1000' away with turtles swimming nearby.

  • 3/5 Eamonn M. 5 years ago on Google
A little disappointing, to be honest: much more could have been made of this. Its a small beach that is covered with the promised sea-worn glass, which is an interesting and unusual sight. There was a discarded concrete block in the middle of the beach and the beach itself is unappealing apart from the interesting-looking glass. Be aware that there is a certain amount of more recent, unworn and quite sharp glass also, so definitely not a place for bare feet. If you're in the locality anyway, it is definitely worth stopping off to take a look. Its about a 20-minute walk from the Naval Dockyard through a residential area. It is a "visit, spend 15 minutes marveling at the sea-worn glass, leave" kind of place rather than somewhere you are likely to spend any significant amount of time.

I thought it was great to visit on an unexpected winter cruise port reschedule when the port beaches were closed. 1.8km walk. Swimming was good. Not your typical beach to sit at for the day and no amenities.

Definitely worth a visit, amazing to see what the ocean has to done with the glass dumped into it. Its a bit difficult to see the road when you drive up, so just park on the grass and walk the rest.
