Sauce was bland on the curry goat and the meat was to tough to eat. The side order of oxtails was dry and tough to eat. Wasted my money.. I really prefer someone fix my plate with gloves on for sanitary purposes. I didn't have the energy to take it back and get a refund.

My wife was so excited to find a Jamaican Restaurant with vegan options in the area. She misses all the food her grandfather would make her as a kid, but a lot of places put butter in the rice, or cabbage. So we were both looking forward to trying this place. Anyway, from the second we walked in a lady told us the food was horrible and we should get our money back if they didn’t have the food ready yet. Despite the warning, we waited nearly an hour for the food even after ordering the food way before we got there. Most of it was inedible. Cabbage tasted fermented like kimchi. Rice was mushy and gross. The vegan fried chicken actually wasn’t bad, but it was nothing like what was shown in the picture. Also ordered the “fiya” hot version and it was very much plain. But if that was the only dish we bought I wouldn’t have been mad. Everything else found it’s way in our compost bin. Overall, nothing tasted fresh. Felt like it sat in the warmers for days before it made it to our plates. Very unfortunate because it was a huge waste of money.

This is one of the spots I come to whenever I visit Nashville and I finally gonna review. The curry goat, Mac & Cheese and Plantain were beyond exceptional. Very great balance with the curry, the plantains were perfectly sweet/soft and the Mac & Cheese was perfect. Also, I had their mild beef Patties as well and they were excellent. I highly recommend when traveling to Nashville T.N, located in the Farmers Market.

This place has so many options for vegans. It's a real treat. All of the sides are vegan, and they have several vegetarian/vegan options for mains. I got the Rice and Peas, Plantains, and BBQ Soy Chicken. The plantains were exactly what I expected in the best way, the rice and peas was the comfort I needed, and the BBQ Soy Chicken was to die for. The soy nuggets were really juicy, and the sauce was perfect. It wasn't as dark and thick as typical BBQ sauce; it was tangier, and I loved it. I was really happy with my visit here. The Jamaican food made my Sunday at the market.

I visited before it closed. I was surprised to have found it here. My jerk wing plate was good and filling. If ever in the area again, I turn to stop back by.

It was after a long time gave a try at the Jamaican restaurant. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised and blown away by the vegetarian options this place had. Lunch hour is generally when you see high foot print, but the place handles it very well. The people are friendly and kind. I loved the vegetarian options and enjoyed the Coconut Delight - truly reflects its name, the rice and the side plantains were really good. Highly recommend!

Ordered curry goat and ox tail with white rice and collard greens. Both meat dishes are very tender. Rice is to the mushy side (it’s not a complaint by the way) and the greens taste good as well. Paid about $45 with 3 drinks. On a side note I originally wanted the whole red snapper but they are actually made to order so it’s gonna be a little wait. So maybe I will try next time. Overall I really enjoyed the food, place is clean, and the service was nice. Should come try it if you are in the farmers market.

The fried plantains and the trifle dessert was the better than the spicy jerk chicken. The jerk chicken put me in the mindset of stew/soup, and not that fresh. Also, I didn’t really taste any spice. The Sorrel juice had a bitter aftertaste, and the Pineapple Ginger juice had too much ginger in it, but they weren’t bad. The juices are homemade from scratch for health benefits. I would still go back here before I go back to a Raising Canes.

The hustle and bustle of the farmers added to the experience here. If your looking for flavors that you can not find most any where, this is the place for you! The jerk chicken was the best I have ever had. The curry goat was falling off the bone and full of flavor. I highly recommend the Mac and cheese, I have never had a flavor like that. The collard greens were done right, savory and slightly spicy. The Bammys were great to dip in the curry. If you get that plantain, I recommend sprinkling some salt on it. I highly recommended the peach iced tea, it tops off everything just right.

I only purchased two Jamaican patties one beef and one spinach and cheese. Very nice staff and ALL the food looked amazing, but I couldn't eat the patty the inside didn't look like meat in the beef patty.

I was at the Farmer Market at the Bicentennial Mall in Nashville. I ran across this jewel and was not disappointed.  From the greeting, conversation, and food.  I was really impressed to see Guy Fieri had featured and ate at Jamaicaway.  My coworker and I talked to the owner Ms. Ouida Bradshaw for about 15- 20 minutes.  We had to leave because we were stopping people from getting food.  Ms. Ouida was very personal and shared several stories with us. She made us feel like family. The food was really good. I had spicy jerk chicken, rice and peas, pantatains, beef patty, and spinach patty. The jerk chicken season to perfection and juicy The kick to the spiciness was great..  The rice and peas were delicious.  Highly recommend that you stop by to partake in the different dishes that Jamaicaway has. Thank you, Ms. O.

My first time trying Jamaican food and I highly recommend the mild jerk chicken! So tender. The sweet potatoes are warming I love those too and fried plantains are such a neat flavor too!

It's been described as the most authentic Jamaican restaurant in Nashville and it definitely lives up to the title. Everything was fresh and delicious will definitely make those my new go to spot

The perfect spot for a vegetarian craving something delicious and spicy. Their spicy jerk soy is phenomenal - I literally couldn’t stop eating it. Pair it with one of their delicious herbal teas and you won’t be disappointed!

I always come here at The Farmers Market anytime i come to Nashville. I had the boneless jerk chicken plate & as always it was hot, tender and full of flavor! Partner had the oxtail plate for the first time and was a bit disappointed but we loved the atmosphere and our service

INCREDIBLE. Do yourself a favor. Come eat here. The chicken sampler (mild) is delicious. Each chicken flakes right off the bone, was so tender, and had such bold and yummy flavors. The rice was insane as were the green beans. If the bread rolls were a person, I’d propose. I came with my vegetarian mother who said she was blown away by the number of vegetarian options and how delicious everything was! Service was quick and truly kind. Prices are super reasonable. This place is a gem!

It was my first time trying Jamaican food and I was craving the patties. I got the spinach and cheese patty and a jerk chicken patty. It was below my expectations. I also decided to try a homemade bottles juice and that was a terrible idea. After two sips I looked closely in the bottle and saw an insect leg floating and other dark flecks. 🤢

If you're a vegetarian, but enjoy Jamaican spice, come check this place out! Many great options, with classic flavoring, to include mouth watering fried plantains. This is the place to be!

My mom side of the family is from Jamaica so I know authentic Jamaican food and this is it!!! I'm used to spicer food but all the flavors were there. If I'm ever back in Nashville, I'll definitely stop by again.

Just awful!! The vegetable is sour, almost stink! You can see it from the pic on here. No plantain like I ordered, I order rice and peas is got white rice. The meat taste like it was left over night then warmed up the next day. You are a disgrace to Jamaican food and need to close down. I thew it right in the garbage as seen on the photo

I'm a little confused by some of the negative reviews because this was some of the best food we've ever had. The chicken and goat were tender and delicious. The peas & rice were fantastic and the mac-n-cheese was some of the best we've had in a restaurant. Not the bland noodle and cheese sauce that so many places use. What I loved most about the food is that it wasn't over salted. So many places over salt their food to hide the fact that the food isn't seasoned well. If you want more heat add some hot sauce. Also the customer service was A+. I misspoke when ordering my chicken and they had no problem correcting it for me. Super friendly employees and delicious food make for a wonderful experience.

This meal was a huge disappointment, I went in with high expectations and was not satisfied. The macaroni was sour , rice was very soft and too sweet, the goat curry was the only decent thing.

Oxtail plate is so delicious. Cheesy mash potatoes are good. Jerk chicken is so bomb! I’ve been supporting them for years and I love the food and location. Staff can be a little short sometimes but I never wait long to order. Food is always fresh and the Johnny cakes you can find no other place who makes them. I suggest getting extras 😋

Service was quick, they give you SO MUCH food. They have so many vegan options and they're all clearly marked. I love that they have a variety of vegan proteins and sauces, and that most of the sides are vegan. I got the spicy jerk gluten, collard greens and candied sweet potatoes. The jerk seitan was tasty and flavorful, the collards were tender and the sweet potatoes were just sweet enough. I'm always worried they'll be super sugary but these went PERFECTLY with the jerk seasoning.

Thanks to a lady name Ashley made my visit awesome, food was nice. My only complaint is the rude wife, Ms Ashley was taking my order and the wife yelled at her to come & do something different mid into fixing my plate, didn't say excuse or nothing, she's been rude several times I've been in the restaurant and I've said something to her husband about her rudeness, clearly it did no good. In the future if your reading this Jamaican way wife you need to be nice to your customers and staff, it's not good business. Thank you Ashley for being professional and respectful. 💞❣💞
