I'd love to give this place more stars. The boat is stunning inside and out, the rooms are nice, you feel like you're on a luxurious 1920s cruise ship. Service is good. However, what let's this place down is the food. Any food that requires any form of cooking was so poor for what you're paying. We had afternoon tea and that was very good. But it's hard to go wrong with sandwiches and pastries. But it was the cooked breakfast and the dinner which was so disappointing. They really need to step up their game for this. I would not come back for dinner or breakfast. But the bar area is very nice and the decking where you can sit and drink with the view of the sky line is lovely.

The staff here could teach a lot of hotels about customer service. It seemed to me they really enjoyed working there . They are a credit to you. Will be definitely back as soon. Worth every penny. The only negative I have is I didn't stay longer

Brilliant - what a wonderful experience .. try it - you wont be disappointed - but watch the check in time!!! We had to wait until 3pm while we watched other couples being booked in ahead of us before that time... returning customers??? Who knows but I wasn't happy about it after flying into London then travelling for hours on various trains to get there ... disappointing start but it met our needs and the rest of our stay was perfect with lovely professional staff and very impressive comfortable surroundings. Our room was lovely and catered for our needs. Location is also superb if you like us are attending the EXCEL conference Center ... a 2 minute walk... Food at breakfast was top quality and plenty of choice depending on your tastes and dietary needs. Will stay at this hotel again when in the area - it will be a first choice.

We stayed for just the one night, used the bar and had breakfast the following day. The bar was slow to deliver drinks, we waited 10 minutes for each order - we would of preferred to wait at the bar. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options. The room was very nice and quite spacious, AC was included and it had a great shower. The bed was comfortable too. Would stay again!

Great hotel on the Sunborn yacht. Really large comfy rooms, with settee, cabinet and TV, coffee maker, kettle. Lovely view from the window of the Royal Albert Dock, really comfortable beds and large bathroom. The view from the restaurant at breakfast is great across the dock, view of the O2 and cable cars. The location is easy to find, at the Excel, Custom House stop at DLR, just a few minutes walk. Lovely staircase in the middle of the yacht. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again, would recommend it to anyone.

A wonderful Hotel in a quiet location. The cable car is close by too if you want to cross the river to the O2 side. The Excel centre is literally a few minutes walk away too. Excellent clean, spacious and comfy room with a shower, TV, wifi and all the amenities you should expect. Wanna give a shout out to the Crew Member Ronnie who had excellent customer service skills and gave me a great room. The amazing breakfast the following morning, in an uncrowded restaurant, was a nice end to my stay there. Will definately be recommending this place. Thanks to everyone, Adam.😁👍

Remember to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your hotel. This website will compare countless booking websites and normally will have rates much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This place is one of the best in the area. I have been coming here for years. If you choose this place you won't regret it. The staff here could teach a lot of hotels about customer service. It seemed to me they really enjoyed working there . They are a credit to you. Will be definitely back as soon. Worth every penny. The only negative I have is I didn't stay longer

Very expensive food, Lunch not up to 4* hotel rating, waiter forgot our order and had to remind him we'd ordered. Hope dinner is better. Room is comfortable and has a great view of river and docklands. Not advisable unless on a discount deal.

Arrived at hotel told room would be ready @ 4pm which is late. No coffee or water in the room. No line to phone reception. There was no booklet which shows hotel details and menu. Quite basic. 2 adults staying but only 1 hand and 1 bath towel. Dinner was nice but not much of it. Very expensive with 12.5% surcharge. Bar almost empty and astronomical priced. 2 gins £40! I noticed they didn't hand out the Drinks list they came and asked what you wanted. The cooked Breakfast included was nice but not much choice of cereal or breads. After a wait for breakfast our check out was 11.00 and the card would not allow us to use the lift or enter hotel room so had to walk down to reception where they extended an hour. No apology just saying the system cuts off on time. Another person on our floor had the same experience. None of the staff had a smile or made you feel welcome. Not a great experience very overhyped.

The hotel is amazing as soon as you walk in you are wowed by everything. Most the staff are helpful but a few behind reception aren't. The bedrooms are huge and amazing. But when I had breakfast I found a hair in my food asked for a new breakfast and it was cold the next day breakfast was cold when I booked out I told the lady said I spent 28 pound on breakfast and I'm not satisfied with it and she was not interested I did not even get a sorry or money off bill

The hotel on this luxury yacht is lovely. The receptionist and waiter Martin are friendly and attentive to our needs. We booked afternoon tea. The presentation of the food was nice and the food at the restaurant was delicious...drinks are overpriced. I will come again...lovely views of the dock and sense of history. When the weather is hot and sunny you can get a table on the deck outside. A good place for couples or a group.

We went for our wedding anniversary, we didn't know what to expect. Excellent service from the professional staff at the reception especially with Mr Amara at the arrival to the next day of leaving. All around, a wonderful experience. The warm welcome was very much appreciated and especially being cold and wet outside. The room was clean and cosy.

Sunborn Yacht Hotel was a truly memorable experience for me and my partner. As I stepped on board, I was in awe of the stunning interior design. The room was elegant, and the bed was comfortable though it was a bit low for me. The plush pillows and soft linens made me feel as if I was sleeping on cloud 9🤣🤣🤣 I and my partner had my birthday celebration. I love the taste of the breakfast and they have different varieties that accommodate diversity. The overall experience took our love to another level🙈😂😂😂.

Fantastic experience staying on the Sunborn yacht Hotel. It is easy to get to just a 2 minute walk from the Elizabeth line. The room was large and clean with a riverview and the entrance at the reception had the wow factor to it. I would highly recommend staying for something a little different. Perfect if you are visiting the Excel or the O2.

Loved our stay! Book an overnight stay for my partners birthday with romantic package included. On arrival the reception staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room was spotless and equipped with everything needed. Coffee machine, tea biscuits and complimentary water on fridge. Bed was comfortable and cosy. Nice and warm and cosy inside. The bar staff helpful, and great service. Yes, there is a service charge but as long as you check out menus and bar menu before going you can be aware of this. We chose to eat out as the restaurant is expensive as expected on such a luxury stay. . However you can just look around or grab some food out so easily solved. Overall, very welcoming, the staff made us feel welcome, and worth the money we paid.

Booked this for me and my husband as a little weekend away, we only stayed the 1 night. Absolutely stunning yacht this is, the food from The Lands End Restaurant was beautiful, staff so very friendly. The room was clean, spacious and relaxing. I would highly recommend staying here it’s an amazing experience.

Absolutely amazing!! Booked a night for my girlfriends 22nd birthday and it was so romantic, got a river view room and we absolutely loved it. Love it so much we booked another night the next day as our room was free again. Room service was slightly confusing however the staff made sure they met our needs as soon as possible. Will definitely be recommending and staying again sometime! Tom

I was very disappointed as the sky lounge was closed which was why I booked to there at first place (nobody informed me when I booked) and when I was having my 3 course meal there was loads of banging, sounded like an underground train. There was tables falling on the roof while I wanted to have a peaceful dinner on my 2nd date with a girl, the girl was scared to stay in the hotel because of the loud noises upstairs so I had to go and book a room somewhere else which was very annoying for me. Staff was lovely, very friendly. Experience wasn’t the best tho

What a wonderful experience we had. Everything was just fantastic, our afternoon tea was beautiful, nothing was too much trouble. Staff were polite, courteous and welcoming and immaculately turned out. The food was just wonderful, we opted out of the salmon and had extra chicken sandwiches which were tasty and delicious. The scones were still warm, plain and fruit were offered with jam and cream, alas no butter for those who didn't want the latter..I guess I should have asked, I get the feeling they would have provided it. Tea and coffee was offered as and when you wanted at no extra cost. The bathroom was spotless, in fact everything was spotless. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to celebrate something wonderful. Access on all levels for people with disabilities. We'll be back next year to celebrate our first anniversary.

What a superb hotel. So pleased we choose this for our anniversary, top-class luxury accommodation in the heart of Docklands. Very well decorated in the style of an ocean-going liner with a wonderful reception area and a great lounge and bar. The room was lovely with a balcony looking out onto Docklands. The staff are very friendly and helpful and we had a wonderful stay. It would make a great base for an event at the O2 arena, just take the cable car over which is a great experience in itself. Highly recommended.

We had a 2 night stay here for our visit to ASOT at Silverworks Island and all was good. Swift check-in, lovely big comfy bed, room bigger than expected with sofa, mini fridge, coffee maker and kettle, double wardrobe with robes and slippers. There was also an iron & board. Shower was good, hairdryer also in the bathroom. Lots of shelves, cupboards and mirrors. Nice private balcony with a couple of chairs. All was very clean. We enjoyed 2 buffet breakfasts and sampled the cocktails in the bar. The hotel is very unique and it reminded me a lot of staying on a cruise ship. Would recommend!

A lovely hotel and something different from the standard hotels in London. Easy to get too on the Elizabeth line. A very professional greeting/welcome with quick check in. Rooms are very nice. Shower wasn’t perfectly clean but not enough to say anything. Very quiet in the evening with nice romantic views of the city from the bar deck. Breakfast has a fantastic range of cooked and continental and all very tasty. Only slight complaint was being seated in the bar in the evening, being given drinks menus but then left alone for too long. Had to go up to the bar to ask for drinks. Tried to get attention of a staff member but carried on walking past to serve others.

How can this hotel be less expensive than the ones closest to it? How can it be way cheaper than central London hotels? And yet the rooms are more spacious, better furnished, and more comfortable. I suppose being a luxury yacht that never put to sea does help... Now it's welded to the Dock, and any motions are entirely in the imagination. It's fitted out so well, with sweeping staircases, brass and glass, and large porthole windows in the bar and restaurant, which have their own balconies looking over the river. Our room on the fifth floor has its own balcony, and amazing views. The air is cleaner, it's not claustrophobically confined like central hotels, and it's just 9 minutes to central London on the brand new Elizabeth line. That makes other tube lines look shabby. Did I say it's right next to the Excel? What could make it better? Having a bar that stayed open past 11pm would help. Having marmite along with the breakfast jams. And fire doors that don't slam like a clap of thunder, when you let them go.

AFTERNOON TEA EXPERIENCE: went for afternoon tea, booked with a coupon voucher. The location is 5* , very posh and comfortable at the same time . Classy inside , overlooking the water. The quality of snacks and drink was good , but if I can say a little comment the service was quite slow for the kind of environment. We need to call the waitress few times to ask if our drinks were on the way. Also we needed to ask if she was going to take the tea, just at that point she asked which hot drinks we like . Location: easy to reach

Amazing anniversary stay! The rooms are so spacious, would definitely recommend a river view with a balcony as it was lovely to wake-up and have a coffee on the balcony. Coffee machine in the rooms, felt really special being on the water and slept really well- very quiet! Breakfast was delicious, we'll definitely be back 😊

We had a room on the first floor which was the lower deck. Was very comfy as you can see from the photos. Check in was a little haphazard and was strictly a 3pm check in. Staff weren’t overly friendly at reception. Breakfast was underwhelming and like a conveyor belt of people. No real personal touches and very oddly the tables in the dining area were VERY low down. It felt like we were sitting at a child’s table :) was a nice first experience but would probably stay elsewhere in future.

Stayed here for my boyfriends 21st birthday. Had the best stay and the staff were absolutely amazing! They went above and beyond to make our stay special, could not fault and would recommend to anyone who is looking at staying here. Views were also lovely!

The hotel was beautiful and the service was amazing as well! The breakfast buffet was exquisite- I especially loved the fact that they had salmon and yoghurt pots! The whole experience was topped off at the end by an amazing member of staff we met by the name of ‘Gyorgy’. He was very jolly, helpful, kind and accommodating. He bought a smile to our faces with his energy and conversation and was truly the cherry on the cake for us! If you meet him, just a tip but he takes the most amazing pictures ;)!

I have stayed here many times over the years but my last two stays, one night and then two nights last weekend was terrible. The staff are so badly trained its almost impossible rot see how they operate. Room was OK, although holes in the curtains and sofa bed for the children was not suitable. Mattress was tens of years old and lumpy. The hotel needs taking over by a company that can re-organise its offering, train the staff and upgrade the rooms.

Lovely hotel with great breakfast. I had room with a balcony on the 5th floor, with a great view . 2 chairs on the balcony, but unfortunately, there is no table , The room was clean, with a comfortable bed 5☆☆☆☆☆ for cleaning service. Reception lovely and friendly service Restaurant, food was OK, You have to pay £20 per head more on Fridays and Saturdays ,then an extra 12% service charge . Honestly, service in the restaurant was not very pleasant. the waiter was pushy, not giving enough time for choice. He was rushing us with orders, but he had plenty of time when we asked for a bill . I do not have any problem with paying tips in a restaurant, but that should be my decision . In general, my husband and I enjoyed the night,

My husband surprised me with an overnight stay here for my birthday. When we arrived the reception was a bit busy, although there was 3 receptionist they went as quick as they could (arrived round 2.30pm checked in by 3). Our room was lovely, we have a river room, decoration on the bed as well as chocolate on arrival. Unfortunately we missed afternoon tea which we had to pre-book. Room was very spacious and clean, no complaints at all. Good selection of tea and coffee but no water in the coffee machine or fridge. Dinner was lovely, although more selections would have been nice. We ordered 2 nibbles (didn't like any of the starter choices, mains and dessert.) Our water Gabriel was amazing throughout, bonus kept us entertained too! Drinks are over priced. Breakfast was decent enough nothing special, again decent selections of teas, pastries etc. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, lovely birthday treat!

It's a 3 star hotel at best. How on earth they have this star rating is beyond me, perhaps something to do with the fact that they charge 5 star prices for drinks and food. The staff were rude and unhelpful, the beds are incredibly uncomfortable - they are blocks with lumpy toppers, beware of the lifts as they are temperamental. It's a real shame as managed better this could be a great hotel! If you are looking for a room I would look at the other hotels in the area, the Good Hotel looked like a better bet! With a better management team and mattress upgrades I would consider staying again.

Unfortunately the experience was not what I fully expected… After booking for me and my partner one night with an extra charge of 81 pound for breakfast, I was definitely not impressed with the quality of the food. We ordered blackberries pancakes that were literally the same one you get from Tesco, The Veggie English breakfast arrived with uncooked eggs and the most fried and dry hash brown I ever tested in my life. Overall for the price you paying and the standard of the hotel, I kind of had the feeling the you manly paying for the location then anything else …

Great service checkin from Sarah. Room very spacious (missing few simple things), like water and decent coffee machine. Room service, nobody answered phone and no menu in room. Private Event was very good. Breakfast looked good but uncooked veggie sausages and other aspects which was disappointing which is where you lost a star. Would come again though. Good novelty.

Beautifully appointed rooms and fantastic staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. A special mention for Dietrich and the lady from Cap Verde on night duty, both of whom provided exceptional customer service Unfortunately though the hotel has significant minor issues such as: no mini bar in room (but in check out was told this could have been arranged had I asked); no information brochure in room regarding services or opening times of restaurant, bar etc; extremely limited and poorly thought out bar menu; £4.50 ( + 12.5% service charge) for a small (not even standard 330ml bottle of Coke and lifts that kept malfunctioning. In a high class restaurant, I don't mind paying a high mark up on fine wines but not on a few sips of Coke. Having travelled the World, attention to these details compares unfavourably to hotels of similar quality and I cannot understand why the management has declined to address these.

This hotel was amazing! The room was outstanding and the staff exceptionally. I recommend this hotel for couples, families and functions. We had my husband’s 40th birthday on the Yacht... it was LIVE! I would definitely book again and again.

It was a terrible experience. Poor location, poor service and poor reception quality. We had a very bad experience. We actually chose to lodge here for a last minute experience of London. It turned out to be a terrible terrible decision. The receptionist was sassy with a lot of attitude. Just because she didn’t like us, she gave us the worst room ever. No view, no experience, but we paid the same price as everyone. I don’t know if we were plainly unlucky. It’s a scam. Be careful when lodging here.

Sunborn London was in my list for a long time. I went to have a drink and the experience was overall good. The yatch is quite big. You access through a guest lift. Bar is right behind the hotel reception. Since it was a good day, I asked to be seated outside in the deck. View was gorgeous. It also has a restaurant in the second floor where you can also enjoy an afternoon tea. We did not book a table for the drinks. Service was okay but not very attentive - we had to asked to get our table cleaned, they forgot the drinks, and so on. Drinks were good but very pricey. Hotel rooms are expensive and dated.

*Disabled Friendly* No steps in or out. Slight step to the external decking area. Staff were wonderful and informative. Breakfast was included for us and more than we needed till the evening tbh. Full English, selection of cereals, fruit, toast, pastries etc. Again all level access from lift. Had a small issue with sliding door of shower and maintenance were on it with 4/5min. Very quick. Room service also super quick. Room cleaning was optional and Victoria was lovely. The sound insulation is incredible considering the volume from planes flying overhead every 10min. Room was comfortable and spacious. Overall... 100% recommend! Thank you guys for a wonderful honeymoon stay

Wow! My husband booked a two-night stay for our first wedding anniversary. Initially, we were booked into a classic room however, owing to the significance of the occasion, we were upgraded to an executive suite complete with a balcony overlooking the Royal Victoria Dock. We were greeted with a warm smile at reception, the room was spacious, clean and came complete with bathrobes and slippers. Breakfast was delicious and nothing was too much trouble. Whilst the drinks were expensive, it is what we have come to expect having stayed in various hotels in the capital over the years. We will definitely return.

  • 4/5 Cycling L. 9 months ago on Google
Turns out it's really a conference hotel. It's not bad. A little dated. It often felt like I was in a 4 or 5 star hotel from the mid 90s. Perhaps you might call it "retro". Service was nothing special. About what you might expect in a corporate type hotel. However, did query the cleaning staff a couple of times about various things, and they were fantastic, friendly and helpful. Surprisingly, the fridge in the room was lacking drinks of any kind. Maybe, you have to request alchole, orange juice, etc? Not something I have ever had to do, but this is not the sort of hotel I would normally stay in. There was tea and coffee however. Anyway, a fun hotel, quirky, worth at least one stay. Certainly cheap, if a bit of a trek to the Royal Opera, where we were attending. But that was our fault. We would normally stay in Covent Garden, so we can't blame the hotel for that.

We had a tiny couple of issues with our room, but was dealt with promptly and with empathy and care. We got married the week due to my husband not being very well, our stay was a gift from a friend, so bitter sweet I'd call it, I didn't want to leave. I could have stayed forever. It was magical. Thank you ti fantastic staff. Thank you. We hope to be able to come again. ❤️💔

Stayed for one Saturday night. Staff on reception were very welcoming and friendly. Our family room was spacious and comfy with a porthole window view of the London dock. Breakfast was a plentiful buffet of hot and cold and constantly replenished. A great location especially for the Excel and the O2 just a short cable car ride away. A great stay and very highly recommended.

Had a lovely overnight stay rooms are a nice size and very quiet with comfy beds. Only reason I dropped it to 4 stars was because it was far to hot in the room, and you cannot adjust the temperature which made for a restless sleep. We couldn't eat in the restaurant as it was fully booked unfortunately.

The rooms were large for a yacht. They were clean, well decorated and had the most gorgeous views of canary wharf. We had dinner and the boat, I didn't like my appetizer that much but the main and deserts were good. The drinks were average but the ambience of the yacht is breath taking. The staff is also warm and friendly. Different worth a try for a nice romantic evening with your significant other.

One of my favourite London locations with a great setting and view of the city. Dinning experience was lovely and food was top quality with an amazing menu. Drinks menu has a top wines and staff really will mix some of the best beverages for you. The front deck is most definitely brilliant for drinks or afternoon tea. You will not be disappointed from when you walk in to when you leave especially with the architecture and front of house staff. Rooms are fantastic with everything you need would recommend one with a balcony. Well worth experiencing for staying, passing through or business.

If you're going to be at the London Excel convention center, this is the place this stay. Yes, there are other hotels right around, but this one is so convenient. The staff was extremely friendly. Would like to say thank you to John and the other staff for making it a wonderful 10 nights. I would say their names if I could remember. The rooms were spacious, and so were the bathrooms.

Unfortunately the experience we had fell far short of our expectations and left us feeling unsatisfied and frustrated. From the moment we checked in, we encountered numerous issues that significantly impacted our stay. The television and phone were both non-functional, forcing us to rely on our personal devices to address the issue. This lack of attention to detail and the need for our own intervention was highly disappointing, given the reputation of a supposed four-star hotel. In addition, the heating wasn’t working and the fan was only blowing cold air so we were feeling cold towards the evening. We were kindly moved to another room but then we encountered yet another problem. Throughout the night, a loud noise emanated from the refrigerator, making it impossible for us to get a restful sleep.. On top of these room-related issues, the service at the Sundown Bar was equally disappointing. When we attempted to order a cocktail, the waitress took an excessive amount of time to attend to us, despite assuring us that she would return promptly. Additionally, she seemed unaware of the "Cocktail of the Week" and had to leave to check, causing further delays. When we finally received our drinks, they did not meet our expectations in terms of taste or quality. Please bear in mind that a cocktail costs £18!! You would expect it to at least taste nice and not like washing up liquid!! We then attended dinner at the lands end restaurant and the food was way over priced, bland and not enjoyable. We ordered the fish and chips and all I could think was that the Birds Eye cod fillet I get for £4 from Tesco tastes better than this £25 fish.. oh and along comes the famous cheese cake on the menu which is actually not a “cheese cake” but rather a scoop of strawberry ice cream with coriander leaves on it.. a baby scoop for £12… all I can say is over priced food and drinks that do not taste nice, and I definitely would not stay here again.

The staff were excellent & so helpful The room & bathroom was clean The decor feels a bit tired & dated but clean. Chocolate on arrival was a nice extra touch Very quiet room which was brilliant The balcony is Tiny & metal do you can’t sit down & enjoy the view which is such a shame If you stay when there is an excel event it’s very busy Breakfast was brilliant. Coffee was terrible I was told the boat is being replaced in the next year with a new modern one. I think I’ll wait for this before staying again. It is a Good 4 ⭐️ hotel

My husband booked a 2 night stay for my birthday between 30/1/24-1/2/24. Reception was on the 2nd floor and we were greeted by a lovely polite man called Ronnie. He checked us in smoothly and explained where everything was.

I recently had the pleasure of attending a corporate event at the hotel for a few days in February, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. Special shoutout to Ronnie, What truly stood out was his consistent acknowledgment of not just me, but everyone around him. It was evident that he takes great pride in ensuring that each guest feels welcomed and appreciated. His courtesy call after my check-in further emphasized the hotel's commitment to providing a home away from home experience. So, if you're looking for a place where you're more than just a room number, this is it. Big shoutout to Ronnie and the whole crew for making my stay feel like a big, warm hug!
