The place has awesome views, definitely worth the trip. We've been here last night but was closed for maintenance. When we asked the man at the reception if it will open today, he said yes. Today, after another a 40km trip, we find everything closed, with a notice in the window. Closed until further notice.

A very modern (Funicular) but very pleasant ride to the top. Great views over Bilbao and the surrounding area. If you get a nice day take a picnic up as there is plenty of space to enjoy. A lot of locals use this every day. Well worth the few euros .

Such a fun way to see Bilbao but unfortunately we weren't lucky with the weather! I am sure it is beautiful on a clear sunny day but unfortunately we couldn't see very far through the mist/drizzle (ie "mizzle"!). Recommend taking the funicular up and walking down, or the other way around if you fancy a challenge!

Nice ride to the top. The sign says max capacity 70 people, but there was MUCH more on our train! The view at the top is fantastic!

Great way to see a full view of the city. Cheap & quick. The views are great but there isn't much in the way of entertainment at the top. i.e no cafés or anything. But I would still totally recommend! X

There is a nice walk to see a bird eye view of the city once you reach the top. There is a lot of grass and chairs to sit on and you can easily spend an hour here. There are even a few restaurants where you can take a rest and enjoy good food. It’s only a three minute ride but it saves all the walking and the view is great.

The train itself is nice but there are few (if any) covid measures, the cars were packed full of people and nobody seemed to care.

Brilliant views and dog friendly walking routes but not much more . The little church has graffiti all over it and didn't look good at all

Fun experience if going to bilbao! Very crowded/tight, but the view up there is definitely worth it! Advice: both way is ~4.30€, but if you have a metro card, you can use that instead and i believe it’s much cheaper! (if you use the metro, not to buy just for the funicular)

Good views over the city, even on a rainy and stormy day.

Great way to get your bearings in Bilbao. The funicular was running every 15 mins when we visited. The views are stunning & the park at the top of the ride is a nice place to wander around. Highly recommend.

Tolle Sache.

Worth à short trip up there to get great views of the city. Nothing much up there otherwise. Also cool if you've never done à funiculaire before

A pleasant and relatively short cable car ride. It is worth getting to the top for the wonderful view of the city of Bilbao.

This ride obviously takes you to a good view of Bilbao with it’s eclectical architecture and beautiful bridges

Nice to get an elevated view of Bilbao. Not a huge amount to see and do once you there though there are a couple of cafe / bars nearby.

Well worth the visit, nice ride to the top . Great views over the city and river. Take a picnic up on a nice day as there are plenty of places to sit and admire the view. Only a few of the carriages have seats. Would recommend.

This was an awesome experience! It looks like a roller coaster but is awesome because you get to see Bilbao from the highest point.

Good views from the top. Little to do once there Cafes that we're open hard to find. If in the area probably worth the visit but don't make a special journey.

We drove to the funicular and parked free. Lots of spaces. Then took funicular to Bilbao. Easy . Then took funicular back up. Cost about 4.50 euros each for return trip.

Worth taking the funicular to get an amazing view of the city. There is also a small park at the top and uiu can walk 10 minutes to cafés and restaurants. Take about 5 minutes to go up on the funicular, cost 3.60 euros return per person. Funicular every 15 minutes.

Beautiful views of Bilbao from the top of the Funicular. There is a large viewing area but I didn't see any restaurants or shops taking advantage of the location. Definitely worth a visit and great views of the river and the Guggenheim Museum.

  • 5/5 Eddie S. 2 years ago on Google
Crowded. Only leaves every 15 minutes. The view from the funicular is not worth it but the view from the top is great

When in Bilbao, the funicular from Artxanda is a must do! The funicular has a storied history of over 100 years and gives some incredible views of Bilbao, including of the Guggenheim and the Zubizuri Bridge. There is a good sized park ideal in the summer for a picnic and to escape the heat of Bilbao

Very easy to buy tickets and use the transportation. Great panoramic view uphill! We couldn’t find it easily though. Every 15 mins = transport.

Lovely view from the top. Had to wait 10 minutes whilst on the funicular stuck with others before departure. I thought we were in a pandemia..a bit more control to avoid this distancing problem would be easy. Poor effort from the town hall. Worth seeing the view though.

A must if you are visiting Bilbao. The Funicular has been functioning for over 100 years. The view of Bilbao from the top, Artxanda, is absolutely spectacular.

Eine Aussicht auf die Stadt, die sich lohnt. Wer diese Seilbahnen toll findet, sollte sie erst recht einmal benutzen. Der Preis für hoch und runter beträgt ca. 5€

  • 4/5 Tammy Z. 2 years ago on Google
Not to crowded but people have the choice to wait for next car if you think too many people. It also depends on the time.At 12pm lots of people going up but not at 2pm.

Worth a trip up for the views if the weather is good, but can be windy and cold up there otherwise. Free public toilet available but nearby restaurants appeared derelict.

👍👍 The Artxanda Viewpoint is a somewhat hidden gem in Bilbao that offers spectacular views of the city and its surrounding area. On a sunny day, it won't disappoint and is worth the trip! I would highly recommend checking it out. Enjoy yourself!! :)
