Mixed
review
here.
Location
is
great
to
see
the
Guggenheim,
a
football
game,
or
attend
a
convention.
Not
as
great
for
visiting
the
old
town,
but
only
a
20
minute
walk
away.
Hotel
has
a
good
facade,
classic
1990’s
architecture.
The
problems
that
ruined
our
experience
were
the
hotel’s
service
and
maintenance.
1.
Parking
-
there
is
not
enough
on
site,
and
the
staff
doesn’t
care.
We
had
to
park
about
.3
km
away
in
a
public
garage.
There
was
no
apology
or
concern
from
staff,
it
was
just
full
and
that
was
too
bad.
2.
Breakfast
-
a
large,
but
largely
bad
food
experience.
Poor
flavors
generally,
and
we
found
things
like
unwanted
mold
on
cheeses.
3.
Bathroom
-
our
shower
was
missing
a
water
retention
strip
on
the
shower
door,
and
had
poor
drain
slope,
so
water
flowed
out
in
to
the
bathroom
until
we
worked
a
way
to
dam
it
up
with
a
towel;
the
drain
pipe
ventilation
didn’t
work
right,
so
pipes
gurgled
all
night;
lighting
was
so
bad
it
was
difficult
to
safely
shave.
4.
Room
-
lighting
was
terrible
for
a
modern
hotel
room,
it
was
maybe
250
lumens
with
all
the
lights
turned
on;
noisy
fridge
motor;
and,
to
top
things
off,
our
room
power
breaker
tripped,
cutting
our
power,
with
the
power
blinds
closed,
so
totally
dark
in
the
room.
Getting
this
corrected
took
almost
2
hours,
after
a
mixup
about
what
room
number
we
were
in,
then
there
was
some
attempt
to
blame
us
for
plugging
in
too
many
electrical
devices
(sure
-
we
plugged
in
a
total
of
2
mobile
phones
and
2
watches).
I
can’t
believe
our
experience
was
typical,
and
our
experience
in
other
Meliá
properties
has
been
great
-
so
take
a
chance
if
the
location
is
right,
but
have
low
expectations.
Other
notes
-
I
don’t
think
they
have
“Level”
service
here.
We
did
not
try
the
pool,
bar
or
restaurants
(except
breakfast).
The
restaurant
menus
were
unappealing
to
us,
and
very
limited
-
not
typical
of
a
business
or
pleasure
traveler
hotel,
they
seemed
to
be
trying
too
hard
to
be
cool.
