Bad neighborhood, difficult to access, small and smelly rooms.

If you want to see and be seen, Bilbao has a few chinzy and pretentious hotels, and you will know them when you see them. But Hotel Ria is the only hotel I've found that can transport you to traditional Bilbao. Open your window to see stunning river views from your room. Gaze at the museum quality old photographs on the walls. Retreat to the garden in the back and drink in the tranquility. Yes--it is a ten minute walk to the Deusto subway and fifteen minute walk to the stadium or Iturrizar Park. Yes--it's not KM0. But it's real, lovely, and offers incredible value to travelers seeking an authentic Bilbao experience.

Terrible place to stay, the room smells like sewage. They probably had some problems in the last month. Also noise during the day from construction in the hotel and outside of the hotel. Hard place to find because off the construction sites around it. Hard to get to the city center or to use public transport from here. I don't recommend this place.

The hotel is at around 10 minutes walking distance from nearest metro station (Deusto). Just around the hotel there are no things to do or see. So closest area to go out to eat or have a drinks you have to walk a bit uphill to the area around the Deusto metro station. Rest of the city you can explore by metro or even walking (you can easily reach Casco Viejo in one hour on foot). Rooms are decent, nothing to fancy or big but enough. Breakfast was included and you get simple one with coffee, milk, orange juice, toast, butter and marmalade, some cereals, biscuits and yogurt. The service is very pleasant and helpful. Even though they were busy they took their time to explain us on the map places to visit or avoid.

Rather noisy and out of the way. Small room for 3 people. We went during the music festival and it was the last hotel available so paid a lot for it.

Beware- you cannot cancel the reservation. The listing does not say non-refundable. Apparently it is in the fine print in email confirmation sent after the booking is made. I disputed it with the management because I wanted to cancel a room three days in advance. I was told, “tough luck.”

Simple hotel with simple, rather small rooms and no food, but friendly staff. Reasonable price/quality ratio. Good location.

The location was not the best and the hotel had not parking but it was rather easy to find a parking spot plus it was a free zone.. the staff was really friendly and really helpful giving us a map and telling us good places to eat which places to avoid etc.. unfortunately there was no breakfast except for a coffee machine and some packaged croissants and muffins but they were available 24/7. The room was rather small but cozy and clean
