An
absolute
shambolic
medical
center.
I
have
a
mother-inlaw
who
is
receiving
end
of
life
care
at
home.
She
is
currently
on
pain
managment
medication,
which
understandably
is
coming
with
a
few
side
effects.
As
a
result
of
certain
side
effects
this
medication
was
reduced,
this
was
to
hopefully
help
manage
those
side
effects.
Generally
medication
is
reduced,
and
slowly
increased
as
needed
until
a
reasonable
medium
is
reached.
The
GP
was
contacted
as
the
current
dosage
of
pain
managment
medication
was
not
working
and
causing
my
mother
in-law
a
great
deal
of
distress
and
discomfort.
A
locum
doctor
took
the
call
and
they
were
informed
of
all
relevant
information
and
that
we
were
requesting
a
home
visit
for
an
urgent
review
of
the
patient
and
medication.
The
locum
informed
us
that
as
a
locum
they
could
not
conduct
home
visits,
but
would
speak
to
the
senior
GP
on
duty.
They
returned
and
told
us
that
the
GP
(Dr
Majeed)
did
not
feel
that
a
visit
was
required
and
she
had
instructed
community
nurses
to
visit
and
provide
injections
to
help
with
breathing
(despite
it
being
made
clear
that
breathing
was
not
an
issue).
Dr
Majeed
told
the
locum
Dr
to
inform
us
that
if
a
home
visit
was
required
and
review
of
medications,
then
for
us
to
contact
the
emergency
out
of
hours
GP
service!!!
This
sort
of
response
and
attitude
for
a
patient
in
this
condition
is
not
only
unnacceptable,
but
a
blatant
act
of
neglect.
This
decision
was
a
suprise
to
the
locum
doctor
on
duty.
The
decison
to
contact
the
GP
in
the
first
place
was
not
only
made
following
are
own
observations
of
my
mother-inlaws
declining
conditon
but
also
following
advise
of
community
nurses
and
mcmillan
nurses.
I
would
add
this
is
not
the
first
time/incident
where
this
particular
Doctor
has
caused
issues
with
members
of
my
family.
But
this
latest
act
of
blatant
neglect
is
what
prompted
this
review.
While
some
will
argue
this
is
an
emotional
review,
it
is
still
based
on
actual
experience
and
the
fact
that
3
other
health
care
professionals
all
had
the
same
opinion
aprt
from
Dr
Majeed
who
as
the
GP
on
Duty
WITHIN
HOURS,
was
to
contact
an
out
of
hours
GP
to
do
the
job
Dr
Majeed
themselves
should
of
done.
Also
the
fact
other
reviews
highlight
an
ongoing
issue
with
lack
of
professionalism
from
this
GP
surgery.
The
CQC
will
also
be
contacted
following
this
act
of
neglect.
