We have eaten here many times. Personally I feel that Viceroy do the best south Asian food in the whole of Birmingham. All the dishes are fresh, authentic and have not been simply prepared from the same base! The staffs courtesy and commitment is second to none. The staff and manager are incredibly polite and friendly. This place is a must visit!!

Up there with the best traditional British Indian Restaurants in Birmingham. Viceroy Tandoori is a modern, sophisticated setting. The food is sublime, prepared with care and bursting with flavour. Service is humble and warm; if you are in the Jewellery Quarter on a Sunday please check this venue out. They have an excellent value offer, £16.95 or £18.95 for either a meat or fish dish with rice, nan and a cup of coffee/tea.

This is the best Indian restaurant in Birmingham hands down. We have been eating here for the past 3 years and every time the food is delicious. A definite must try if visiting or in the area.

Absolutely amazing, the service was fantastic. The food was gorgeous, the best meal I've had out in a long time. The waitress and waiters were fantastic and really catered to our needs. When we arrived, it had not long opened, so it was pretty quiet, but it soon filled up, and the atmosphere was great. We were originally a table of 3 but a quick call to upgrade to 5 was no problem at all and due to road works, we were also later than our booking time, this was no problem at all. Will be back for more it was so tasty, and we will bring our friends too 😋 ❤️

Had a takeaway for four. Wasn't bad however the food is definitely cooked with a wider audience in mind as a couple of the dishes I had could have had more flavour. Overall though it was good and would recommend.

Great service and lovely food. Not your run of mill curry house - this place is something a little more special. Stumbled across it by accident, but might just be our new favourite place.

Wow, this place I mean. Viceroy doesn't deserve 5 stars though. 5 isn't simply enough. This has been hands down the very best Indian/Asian food I ever had in my live and such a memorable culinary experience. Had a business meeting there, got in 15 min early as we didn't know what time they opened, the head chef let us in himself and cooked for us. While we were the first and only customers we got imoecabble service from their staff, Chef himself recommended their signature appetizers which was a combo of 3 meats and veggies. The taste was mind blowing and the meal one I will remember for a very long time until I come back and let them surprise me with their culinary art again. Top quality, medium/high prices and definitely the best restaurant in the entire Birmingham area. Hope Michelin swings by to add that one star I could add in here.

A nice restaurant with some interesting Bangladeshi dishes alongside traditional "curry-house" favourites. The reason that I have marked them down is that I found a piece of chicken in my paneer dish. I am a "flexitarian" so I do eat meat on occasion but had I been vegetarian I'd have been really upset... I suggest the restaurant ensure that veggie (and vegan) food remains so. Polite service, nice wine and surprisingly busy for early evening (5/6pm) on a Sunday which must be good.

The Viceroy is hands down the best Indian restaurant in Birmingham. The food is second to none, the customer service is impeccable and the ambience inside is perfect. I strongly recommend the lamb dishes as the meat is locally sourced and so so fresh! It literally melts in your mouth!

Such an amazing meal! The menu here is extensive and full of delicious options. I am vegetarian and there were plenty of options to choose from. The restaurant itself is cozy, modern and so comfortable. The staff here are kind and so attentive. 10/10, we will definitely be returning again!

This is a lovely restaurant. Great hosts that were very accommodating, they made a dish on request for us that wasn't on the menu. The food was great, will be coming back and highly recommend.

What a delicious meal in a really nice, bright, sparklingly clean setting. We came here Thursday night around 6pm and had a very warm and friendly greeting from the owner. The menu was very interesting, lots of Bangladeshi dishes and more traditional curries. We enjoyed chicken chaat puree and lamb chop starters. The lamb was utterly sublime, melt in the mouth, delicious marinade. The chicken chaat was very generous and really fresh. The condiments (yogurt mint and mango chutney) were also delicious. Definitely homemade and really high quality. For mains, my OH had chicken shashlik and I had a medium hot chicken tikka bhuna. The heat level was perfect, just enough fresh green chilli to give a kick whilst still being able to taste the spices. We shared a rice and peshwari naan. The interior is modern, really nice large tables, spotlessly clean, sparkling cutlery, tableware. The owner was attentive and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and will be returning next week! Yum! Thank you!

We came here around 6 pm on a Wednesday. The restaurant was very clean and neat , waiter was very attentive and lovely service. We ordered butter chicken, spinach paneer and aloo gobi, the food was too plain and too sweet! I asked the waiter if they can make it spicer for us , they did prepare our dishes with some spices but after all it was still too sweet for me. I had some authentic Indian dishes , and the tastes were nothing close to it which I was really disappointed! The only thing I liked was the naan and the mango lassi , I don’t think I would come here again, regardless the service was really nice .

We ate here last Thursday and had really good service. Our waiter even offered to bring a new meal if it would too spicy. Food was delicious and we made new experiences with dishes we didn't know. We went there because it was round the corner of our stay in the first place but in the end Viceroy exceeded our expectations by far. 10/10 :-)

Our first time at Viceroy and cannot fault the food or the service. The team are lovely and the food was absolutely impeccable. We had several of the vegetarian options with the onion bhajee being a particular highlight. The side salad that came with it was fantastic on its own! We will definitely be back very soon and cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough! Thank you 😁

I had dinner here with a group of 11 people for a friend's birthday. All of our meals were great quality and reasonably priced, and the menu included a good variety of options to cater for everybody's tastes and preferences. The restaurant is small and was full whilst we were there, including another large group, so there were times when the service suffered a little bit at the peak, however the staff handled this very professionally despite what must have been a lot of pressure for a small crew. I would gladly have dinner here again.

What an amazing restaurant. We had gorgeous food clearly freshly made and so flavoursome, set in a lovely immaculate restaurant. The owner clearly feels passionate about the food and all the staff were very attentive. Very reasonable prices too. This is without doubt the best curry we have every had. Thank you

The wife and I had a very nice Saturday night here. We had been before but it was a very long time ago. It's quite camouflaged in the industrial landscape of Icknield St, and even if you do notice it I suspect you wouldn't know what to make of it. It hasn't changed much, very well presented with a clean contemporary and upmarket feel. The menu and food are somewhat unusual for a Bangladeshi restaurant, it's not your run of the mill and has an Indian / Desi vibe. Naturally it's licenced with a very good selection of drinks. The service was as good as it gets, faultless all round. Right from the start, the dips with the poppadom and our shared sheekh kebab demonstrated that this place can cook and is doing things differently. As for the mains, the chicken was superb, the portions generous, and the taste is excellent - providing you choose the "right dish", especially when considering something off the Specials. Unfortunately I didn't, and found my Jaljabha gravy to be quite "thin" with little depth of flavour. I found myself jealous of the wife's Balti which was much more to my taste. Naturally I took advice from our waiter but I should have requested something with a thick sauce - better luck next time? We hadn't got room for a dessert but the choice was very tempting. You will quickly notice it's not cheap but I believe it is well worth the extra assuming you make the right choices.

Nice people , licensed, nice decor , great food . We shall be returning. *** 23/08/2020 I'm going to add to my review been here a number of times now and the food is fantastic . Returned for the first time after lockdown and the already lovely restaurant has been redecorated . Thought they might be cutting corners with food ! Not at all the food was amazing !! I would say it is at the higher end price wise for Birmingham curries but you get what you pay for . They use really fresh ingredients well sourced ingredients !! I took relatives from Ireland they said it was the best Indian /Bangladeshi /Pakistani food they had ever had !!! I agree with them !! Worth the journey and the little extra expense . The BEST curry in BRUM !!!! The best i have had ,and i have been all over ! Great garlic naans , great king Prawn dishes , lovely chicken curries , lamb dishes , a specials board , some unusual things you don't see in other restaurants. Every time i try something a bit different , really nice staff and draught beer . I always come out of there happy and very full .It's busy so best to book in advance to avoid disappointment .Be back soon .

The food and service here is absolutely first class. The restaurant is modern but small. The tables are generous and spaced out , so you feel comfortable. The dishes a very different from the normal and concise in dish numbers. I strongly urge you to try it. This is the best food outside of India. Well done.
