A hidden gem of souvenir wood work and hand made clothes by local seamstresses. Very few tourists visit this market.

A very decent selection of the usual stuff you can find in African arts markets. Variable quality but some good pieces, even some bits you won't find in other parts of Africa, which is always nice. The vendors are very pleasant, by and large; their prices are very reasonable and haggling isn't too much of a struggle. If you come early, a lot of stalls won't have opened yet but this is probably the best place to get souvenirs in Bissau, followed by Bandim market, which is much bigger, busier, livelier and smellier.

Various souvenirs are sold here. Be good at bargaining and get a good price.

Excelent variety of clothes and arts craft. Trully amazing. Bought 10 shirts and negotiated to a fair price. Ronaldo has nice option of clothes and artscraft.

There are some interesting handicrafts there. There are statuettes, necklaces, paintings. But you can also find very beautiful clothes.

Very nice market, people are mostly friendly but they overcharge too much thinking you will haggle. I bought most of the stuff for way less than half the initial price, and they are probably bought for 10% of it. At least the pieces are original, not Chinese knockouts, and the money stays to help this people lives.

The craft market has a good distribution of goods - many probably not produced in Guinea-Bissau - but nice things to bring as presents back home or if you'd like an African style purse, for example. There are also African wooden figures being made there. If you want a more local, youthful touch with guarantee that the goods were made in Bissau, head to the Centro Artístico Juvenil close to the Chapa de Bissau roundabout.
