Loved it and would go back again. Forgot tour guide name, young, little fellow, good tour. Also Roger was great, staff in general very nice. Refreshments a little pricey but not overly. The scenery, beautiful.

Great experience! They offer tours with a fixed schedule (and probably additional ones for bigger groups) for for 10US$ per person. We joined the tour at 12:30. Before starting, they fed two crocodiles with chicken. Really nice! Then we drove for about one hour up into Black River, the captain showed us a few more crocodiles, many birds, and lots of plants.

To have this experience as a part of our overall journey through this island of Jamaica, I tell you if this is a part of the package for your excursion then you will be entertained and educated. Just to see the different flora, wildlife, and magnificent views was worth the investment. Our guide was excellent as he kept us engaged throughout the tour. This one was for the books and it will last.

This place is a must go. Short tour (could be an hour) but the tour guide is a root! The guys know their stuff and the place is just perfect. Boat ride was relaxing and the rain came while we were on the river. We got rain cloaks but we never mind the rain. We got to "pet" the crocks 😌. A must for the family.

Great tour, really enjoyed it. We saw all the mangroves we where looking for, great crocodiles and even giant fern. The price is fair and the guides tour is interesting and funny. We also where allowed to see the baby crocodiles in the nursery also some turtles.

Price and quality do not fully match. You are taken across the river with trimaran and show some accustomed crocodiles and a couple of birds. Admittedly, the guide is very good. His jokes are really funny. Thank him. This improved the attitude towards this measure

This boat ride wasn't on my radar but I'm so happy it included in our package. It was an exceptional experience. There's plenty of space on the boat, so every seat is really a good seat. If sitting in the sun is a concern, go for the inside seat. The river is beautiful! Being out on the water, getting a little history, and observing the animals was quite entertaining. My husband really enjoyed it to. This attraction is a hidden gem that everyone should find.

Visited this place today with students. The place is clean and we'll kept. The bathrooms are functional and clean. Our tour guide was courteous and so knowledgeable about the history and current happenings on the Black River. We were really impressed. Thanks so much to the team working there. They were patient, helpful and aware. Appreciate the work they do there in educating and saving the habitat there on the Black River. Worth the trip.

Fantastic adventure, nice informative river Cruise. Ronald the captain was fantastic , kept us entertained the whole time. There is nice vegetation, crocodiles, birds and rare plants to see. At the end of the boat ride along Black River one is able to visit the nurseries and see the younger crocodiles, some of which lives in Harmony with the turtles.

Completely submerged in the sights and sounds of nature. Very serene and informative guided tour. The fact that the tour guide was not only knowledgeable but quite humorous as well was definitely an added bonus! Add this to your list of things to experience on your next trip to Jamaica!

Located in Kingston Parish, Fort Charles is a standing reminder of Jamaica’s history of defense in the name of colonialism. It was the first fort constructed in Port Royal and experts and historians estimate it was built somewhere between 1650 and 1660. A small redbrick artillery store, the rightly called Giddy House, sits alone just behind the fort. An earthquake in 1907 briefly turned the spit to quicksand and one end of the building sank, leaving the store at a lopsided angle.

Fort Charles is located in the small town of Port Royal, (Kingston) Jamaica. The size of the fort was built under the Spanish rule and has of late undergone some natural changes, thanks to the earthquakes and natural calamities that struck the port town. It currently serves as a museum for locals and tourists alike. Even though it is not a must see location in Jamaica, it would be a nice half day tour to learn some interesting history about Jamaica. The architecture of the fort is pretty noteworthy too!

This was part of a paid package tour. Expected far more than we saw. A few a crocodile, some birds, and flowers. About an hour on the dark water of the river. A little history lesson and our captain fed the Crocs some raw meat. Open boat with canvas canopy. Rough trip up the mountain to get here.

Had a good time I’m only giving it a four cause we ran out of gas, waited for gas to come, then moved a bit then engine broke down. Had to wait for a new engine to come. We were joking wether we’d go into the croc water or the wildfire bush 😂 then we continued on for a bit it started raining and we turned back. Saw two crocs. My cousin swore it was a rafting place which is what I was hoping to do. I’m from Florida I see crocs everywhere. Saw two crocs and some beautiful views. $30 is too deep for this boat tour it should be $15 I’d say the most.

You hardly get to see any crocodiles, got to see 2 throughout the whole tour. They talk about the plants and properties of the river. Honestly, I wasn't into it and thought it was boring. It's nice taking a boat ride down the river and getting see what the rivers like. But in retrospect I would of liked to spend my time elsewhere.

(Translated by Google) An excursion from the “so-so” kind, in the river there are 5 crocodiles — each of which is tamed and with a name, can be stroked, swim up to the call “Come Come”. The cost of the tour is $ 20 per person + road. We put 3 stars only because we had a funny captain comedian. We do not recommend spending time if you live further 25-30 km from the place or have previously been on such excursions - there is little useful and interesting (Original) Экскурсия из рода «так себе», в реке 5 крокодилов -каждый из которых приручённый и с именем, можно погладить, подплывают на призыв “Come Come”. Не рекомендуем тратить время , если вы проживаете дальше 25-30 км от места или ранее были на подобных экскурсиях - полезного и интересного мало

About 2 hours from Negril. On the day we went, they just filled up the boats and then the tour began so no long waits. Cost for 3 of us was $8200 Jamaican. It's a good tour and the guide was amusing. Some very beautiful landscapes and of course we saw several crocs. The massive mangroves were the biggest I have seen anywhere

Black River Safari was more tha I expected. So, it was my first time doing it and we took the entire family .. kids and adults; completely appropriate for both. Won't spoil the fun for everyone but let's just say Crocodile Philip was as big as you'll see on National Geographic.

An absolute adventure that one should experience. In an atmosphere where professionalism and customer service seems to be lacking the management and staff of Black River Safari is the epitome of both. Always professional, always courteous. There is so much to see, vegetation, crocodiles, birds and rare plants and as such it invites you to go back again and again. It is the perfect get away from the chaos of life and reconnecting with the tranquility of nature.

(Translated by Google) Trip of 60 minutes (5600JMD for 2 persons). Nathan our captain joked and told something about the environment and the crocodiles which made the trip interesting. Spotted two crocodiles. In the end he said he would like to receive a tip. Black river is fun, but don't go for a boat trip directly. Take a speedboat (plenty to find in the area) and opt for a combined trip from the black river and pelican bar (you will also see crocodiles and the chance to see dolphins during the drive to Pelican bar). From treasure beach a combined trip costs 45 USD pp. (Original) Tripje van 60 minuten (5600JMD voor 2 personen).

Quite a beautiful place to go. There was so much to learn and see. If you are a nature lover then there is no reason you wouldn't want to go there. Also, the world's famous Pelican Bar is about 15 minutes out from the safari tour with load of boats ready to take you over. Walk with your ID to ensure you pay the correct rate as the rates are tourist sensitive.

    J. Charles Swaby’s Black River Crocodile Safari. At both sides of the Black River are tour operators who go on Safari on the Black River. 1500 acres of protected wetland with springwater Broad River and Black River coming from the Cockpit Country Mountains. The river looks black indeed, it’s because of clay sediment, the water is as clear as springwater could be. Mangrove forest, a great amount of bird species, large fresh water fish. And ofcourse the main attraction: wild American Crocodiles. Huge ancient creatures that gracefully swim in their clear springwater protected environment free to go anywhere they like. Resorts charges 150$ pp. we payed 57$ for 3 persons, travelling with our rented car at 50$ a day.

Great efficient tour, saw 4 or 5 crocs up close, plenty of birds and wildlife.. the tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept telling us things about our surroundings the whole way. Great to see nature that's been left alone. Great experience

I've gone on the river many times in the past. I love the tranquility and history of the river. This was the first in many years that I've gone back, it hurt to see that they cut through many places that should have been left alone. It's pointless to have a reserve if you're just going to damage it for tourism.

The view is great. I love seeing the crocodiles even tho i am deadly afraid of them and the water they reside in. I like the nursery where they show you and teach about the crocs and turtles. Definitely recommend taking their safari. The tour guides are the best and they are hilarious
