Beautiful hostel! We had such a lovely stay in Ella’s amazing new hostel. You can tell a lot of time and effort has gone into this space. The kitchen is really big and has everything you need. The lounge room is beautiful and big, we watching movies on the projector there. The outside area and the rooms and bathrooms are also great. The location is perfect, it’s a short walk to the town centre with cafes and shops and a short walk to the beach. Ella was so helpful and lovely I would highly recommend.

I spent five days in this hostel and it was such a nice experience. You instantly feel at home in the shared areas, and the beds in the dorm are really comfy, with some curtains which allows some privacy. The location is really great, at the center of this cute typical south west French village with a couple of bars and restaurant, and one supermarket 5min walking distance. I definitely recommend this hostel and hope to come back again!

I could not recommend this hostel more. I was staying with friends in an apartment in Guéthary and stumbled on L'escale. The good energy was visible immediately. The rooms are cozy, the outdoor area is wonderful and the kitchen is the best of any hostel I've visited. Ella is a kind host and you can tell she cares a lot about the space and her guests. Boards are cheap and easy to rent. I'm looking forward to returning.

At L'escale I had one of the best trips of my life. It was a solo trip and I felt so at ease there, met wonderful people that became friends for life, surfed and discovered Guéthary and the towns nearby. The volunteers are the absolute best, they are so kind, give you the best tips, and still bake cakes for everyone!! The hostel is very clean and beautiful. And yes, the kitchen IS amazing to cook together with other guests. I highly recommend it! Thank you Ella for the making it all happen.

What a beautiful place to stay in! L'éscale is the perfect hostel to have relaxing holidays. The host Ella is the nicest and most helpful person ever! All rooms are clean, comfy and the breakfast is amazing as well.:) You'll feel like home and wanna stay longer for sure. Additionally, the hostel is located right in the cute village of Guéthary and 2 minutes away from the seaside. If you wanna go for a surf you can also easily rent a board at Ella's. 10/10 can definitely recommend!

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in! Super nice outdoor areas to chill and an amazing kitchen too. Nice selection of surfboards to rent from the hostel, with 3 different surf spots within walking distance. Ella and the rest of the staff were super friendly too! Highly recommend staying here!!

What an amazing place to stay in Guéthary! The dorms are super comfy (I was in a 3 beds dorm) with a bathroom inside, the kitchen is big and very functional which is amazing for an hostel, you have a cozy outdoor place to chill out and eat, 3 min from the beach and beautiful surf spots, you can rent surfboards, a nice yoga studio next door (yoga etxea) and the most important is that Ella is very nice and welcoming as much as the people working with her! I highly recommend this hostel 💜

Awesome hostel! Very comfortable, really great environment with the friendliest people. Also includes breakfast which is very welcomed and the kitchen and common areas are spacious and well-equipped. Great location near bars/restaurants and beaches as well as to the train station to visit nearby towns. Absolutely recommended.
