Beautiful small nature park, originated from a 1930's garden. It's swampy, woody with many plants (like rhododendron or bamboo) or landscape elements (like bridges or benches) that will tell you it's very much cultivated nature, but all these things give it a small scale intimate atmosphere that is quite unique. Notice the many mushrooms, birds and insects in this piece of wet wood. After (or during) rain, bring appropriate foot wear.

De Haeck is such a beautiful little place. It's almost water-level and this is noticeable in the mushy ground and paths. if you stray a little too far you'll be stuck in a swamp. It's raw nature that you're invited into. It's as beautiful in winter as in summer, autumn, and spring. It's great for walking alone and it's great for going with a small group of friends. It's just generally great and one of my favourite places to be. I'd recommend it to every single one of you as long as you love nature and aren't bound to a wheelchair or walking aids as the terrain is very marsh-esque.

It is a beautiful short walk. My younger kids also loved it because we did not have to walk for hours. We will go back again and again!
