Really great museum! I'm studying animation, so the content was super interesting to me. The museum tells the story of how cinema came to be, and how they first introduced motion and sound into it. It also has some props from some popular movies. The audio guides are free, you only need to provide an identification (from wherever in the world you're from), and they provide so much extra knowledge, so they're definitely a must-have. The museum doesn't allow photos, so here's a photo from outside. There's also a café if you get hungry.

I didn’t really have any expectations. I had never heard of it. However, it was a great experience. I did the spy and espionage exhibition. It was awesome. I learned so much and they had such a diverse set of movies focused on. From Bond to Mission Impossible to Hitchcock. A lot of the plaques were in French (which was expected and rightfully so) but they did do their best to do plaques in English. Rest of the museum was good, but the exhibition was definitely talking point!

We really wanted to visit this museum but it is closed for the whole month of August 2021. A very shameful thing !!! How is this possible in a big capital like Paris ???

I would give it 100 stars if I could. One of the highlights of 6 days in Paris. I'm a huge admirer of Georges Méliès and the film Hugo. The exhibit, while a bit small was everything I wanted it to be, well thought out, beautifully explained and brought me back to the 1900's in cinema. It's a shame much of his work was destroyed but those who love modern filmmaking owe it to themselves to learn where its roots began. Thank you Cinémathèque Française for preserving the early works and your thoughtful presentation. I will definitely return.

Absolut empfehlenswert.

For any cinema enthusiast this is an absolute must. The current museum exhibit on Melies and early cinema is fascinating and informative. There are many exhibits featuring original film equipment from the late 19th and early 20th centuries as well as clips of original material by Melies. Other classic films are presented as well, with q & a sessions afterwards. (This evening they were showing King Kong but we couldn't stay. I really would have liked to see it on a big screen).

Nice place in the Bercy park. Not those big ones, but with some nice local entretainment. There is also a restaurant/café with reasonable prices. But the options are quite limited.
