The place was amazing with good food and adorable cats and very good service. However, oftentimes there were children who ran around the cafe, played with the cat toys, followed the cats around and, stood in front of our table which led to us feeling very watched. Overall amazing staff, spectacular cafe but the rules could be more respected.

The most delicious cake!!!! The place is really nice for the cats. The stuff is very friendly and the food is vegan and delicious. We will gladly come again!!!!

Sadly, the drinks were quite disgusting. We ordered golden latte and it was absolutely undrinkable. I had a white chocolate latte and it literally just had unmelted pieces of chocolate at the bottom. Absolutely horrible, feels like I was just drinking cold milk with a hint of chocolate, iced coffee from Lidl is better than this. Other than the drinks, the atmosphere was great and staff were all lovely. Just very disappointed with the quality of the drinks...... Would not come back here prolly

Food was really good. Nothing fancy but good vegan food for a fair price in my opinion. We had to wait nearly an hour for the food though.. The staff was friendly and so were the cats. The cats come up to you, walk around your legs or sit next to you. It's fun to watch them climb around the room while eating.

Great for cat lovers, but mot for those who don't like cats. Food was good but a bit over priced. Service was very slow. Best part: amazing Chai latte!

The food was good and the staff very friendly, the cats are lovely and the general atmosphere cozy. However, as an ambulatory wheelchairuser, accessibility was horrible and the "disabled toilet" sign on the door of the (inaccessible) basement toilet without an elevator was a punch in the stomach.

Absolutely purrfect! If you like cats and delicious food, this is the place to go. The interior is designed really well and there’s lots of places to see the cats hanging out. The food is also amazing, and everything is vegan! It’s a nice place to hangout and eat for a few hours. I would highly recommend the fries.

Pleasantly decorated place. The service was very polite and quick. The food is tasty, although the prices are a bit exaggerated due to the presence of cats - which are a bit too few. If you come at the wrong time, due to the small number of them, it is just an ordinary cafe with inflated prices and four cats hidden somewhere high up. Overall, I recommend a visit here, but with the attitude that cats will be the least attraction here. Although maybe I was just unlucky and normally they are more active.

Love everything about this place. The breakfast we had was delicious and a good sized portion (Croissandwich and Kater breakfast). Seeing the cats healthy and relaxed was lovely. Hope to come back when nearby again.

Love this place and the cats are quite relaxed and approachable. And it is VEGAN 😀 When I had reserved a table the staff called me beforehand to let us know that their stove was broken and that they couldn’t offer certain meals. But when we arrived it had been fixed already and everything was available.

Really nice vegan place with many interesting options close to the train station 😊 We enjoyed that they offered a lunch menu which meant you got a sandwich and tasty side salad for a tenner, which was quite filling! I'm also thrilled they had a vegan chai and some nice lemonades & softdrinks. The cats seemed happy and after a while, one of them joined us and sat on our laps for quite some time. Charming place and concept and nice wait staff too! Can recommend!

I would like to share my experience of the place. The place was fine and the food was okay. However, we had a really bad experience due to one of the employee's behavior towards us. This person's behavior was quite condescending from the start. She misbehaved with my child and a different behavior towards us as compared to the other guests in the Cafe at that point of time. As per the rules we are not supposed to pet a cat while the cat is sleeping, however some other guests were doing the same, they were not pin pointed, however when my child tried to pet a already woken up cat, we were told that you have woken up the cat, however the fact of the matter was that some other guest had already woken up the cat by petting it while it was sleeping and my child was petting a already woken up cat. She even argued with us just to prove her point. However, when the previous guest had woken up a sleeping cat, she did not say anything to that person. It is only us that she pinpointed. She even went on to say that some guests had complained about my child, however I did not see any guests do so since I was standing there with my child this whole time and my husband was sitting just a few table away. She did even had the guts to come to us and speak to us directly. Even when we were leaving after paying, one of the other staff whom we told about what had happened, however, this one particular staff member who created this whole scene did not even come out. This clearly shows that she was at fault and she lied the whole time hence she could not ever come out of the kitchen in the main cafe area and face us. HENCE PROVED, that she was lying the whole time. More than anything else, a 16 year old child does know and understands if told that the sleeping cats need not be woken up. We had come from a different city to show a cat cafe to our child, and this was our very first extremely disappointing experience. I will definitely not recommend this cafe to anyone, specifically with families. Terrible staff, Not recommend at all. The staff will go on to say lies just to prove that they are right without even knowing the reality of the situation. I would rather spend my money in some other cafe than this one.This was my first and last experience with them. Pathetic place.

Overall a wonderful restaurant with amazing service and atmosphere. If you're in bochum, I would whole heartedly reccomend you to eat in this restaurant. Its for all the cat lovers and also covers incredible moralistic topics like sustainability and vegan. My experience has always been amazing. Go team Katzentempel Bochum
