Very active square with shops and live entertainment. Many Chicha vendors. Nice restaurants. Nicely decorated streets leading to the square. Nice blend of tourist and locals. Worth exploring.

A beautiful little square - with some fascinating streets running to it with lots of graffiti and colour. Nice little cafes and bars in the area too, it’s a great place to sit and chill - and people watch.

Lovely, unique, different , vibrant place in the center of Bogotá. You can't miss it if you are in the city .

Colorful and lively plaza, if you go after 5pm you will find story tellers “cuenteros” and you can sit and have a laugh. There are restaurants, cafés and bars around with great quality. You can get a traditional drink called “Chicha” made of fermented corn. You could get there by public transportation using transmilenio until Las Aguas station and 10 minute walk or use SITP. There are handmade crafts and artists around that make it a nice place to spend the afternoon or evening. Plus the graffiti and street art.

Great atmosphere! You must try the chicha and make your own decision, if good or not so much...

For those who enjoy crowds and loud music, this place would be a 5-star destination. However, as someone who is a bit older and doesn't vibe with that atmosphere, I can only say that the area is a great spot for party-goers, with lots of stands and shops. If you're a first-timer in Bogota, it's definitely worth checking out.

It was interesting to walk through the very colorful alleys, with their graffiti covered walls to reach the Plazoleta. However, I had higher expectations of the fountain.

The original houses by the Bogota settlers. Back in the day, they would tell people to meet by the water fountain. Really cool old neighborhood, with very old houses. This place has a lot of soul and character. I recommend coming here in the day, they say at night it can be dangerous. There are 30 of those little statues that you can do a scavenger hunt and find in this neighborhood. Next time ill be back here doing just that. Always prepare for rain in Bogota. You never know when you will be treated with a nice little tinkle.

Lovely square to just hang and drink chicha. Place is really popular with locals especially youngsters and the atmosphere builds up after 3 pm with music, buskers etc. Don't forget to check out the graffiti art in the surrounding streets

Very niceplace to visit, drink a totuma of chicha; the indigenous tradicional drink, now with different fruits flavors like: passion fruit, mango among others. Meanwhile the drink you can have a walk in the old city throught out stone streets full of backpackets and nacional tourits who give a special caracteristic to the experience to be there. Do not miss It.

Quaint little neighborhood in the middle of the city. Very fun to walk around the streets looking at al the local vendors and their artistry. There some pretty good cafes and restaurants in the area for light snack or full on meals and you must try the chicha in one of the cafes. Delicious stuff.

This is a place to come with a tour guide so that you enjoy it fully. You can buy very pretty jewelry, hand made, drink chicha which is a drink made out of fermented corn, you can have green tea with coca and enjoy the murals.

(Translated by Google) It is an unmissable tourist site when visiting Bogota and its historic center, La Candelaria, is currently a bit insecure and many of the facades of the houses around the blocks to access the Jet are not as nice as before, it is not as clean as before, let's hope that the government entities in charge of these emblematic sites and the residents of this sector will restore, clean and take care of it. Really nice square from where many tours start at 10 and 14 hours with some merchants, shops, crafts, nice place to eat and enjoy the music of some of the street musicians. This place is believed to be where Bogota was founded.

Super cosy street in La Candelaria. It is very busy but has a cosy atmosphere. Everywhere you see coloured typical Colombian houses. Don't forget to walk down an alley too. There, there are often no tourists and you will see even more beautiful houses

Plazoleta Chorro de Quevedo is a cultural bohemian place in Bogota and visited by many people and students. Many come here to buy chicha. In the beginning there were twelve houses which are now represented by the windows. Tourists need to pay attention to their surroundings and the place may not be well maintained but very historic and centrally located. Entry is free.

This is a historic Plaza in La Candelaria. It is widely believed that Bogotá was founded in Chorro de Quevedo Plaza on August 6, 1538. Here you will find an open space with a small white chapel. This is called the Hermitage of San Miguel del Principe that was re-built in 1969 on the site of the very first chapel in Bogotá. This plaza is a very popular spot for street performers. It was a very quiet day when I visited.

Unsure what the fuss is about. Went there on a busy afternoon to see.... Not much! The old tiny street was nothing like the photos, no street art, no shops just bars and a few seedy characters. The Candelaria offers plenty of great street to walk around, not sure this is one of them....

The experience here was wonderful! ...the alleys near the plaza are lined with eateries and pubs, everyone had a smile, the lady at a Dona Gloria (Arroz y Maiz) cart found me and gave me my change after I had walked away, and a live marching band popped up out of nowhere!!! It is a great place near the graffiti village ...dont miss this.

This is a popular place in la Candelaria. Both during the day and evening, but mostly during the evenings. There are many bars and restaurants. During the day there are tours that will beging there that you can take. Most of them are free, but it is expected that you give your tour guide a gratuity, usually somewhere between 30 and 40 mil Colombian pesos. In the events there are often performers, story tellers and street venders. Often the plaza is packed with people. You can here music playing from all the bars and restaurants, and often it is live music. Great place to experience some local culture.

Very nice place to spend the evening, just walking around, having dinner, drink some beers, listening to some poetic talks.

  • 5/5 Daniel Felipe M. 7 years ago on Google
This place covers almost any plan or mood you could have. Do you want to join a beer and chat? This is the place. A coffee, chicha, or any shot you deserve. You also can buy arthesan products from both professional and hippie producers. People usually is singing and chatting at loud, and louhfing. Storytellers are also on the core business of this place, you can hear them and get a mind blowing story specially on Fridays. This is definitely a good place for something casual and fun.
