Very unhappy. I called for room service they never came. The breakfast was raw. The jacuzzi they say we can't use. I asked for the manager they gave me a run around.. never will I come here again. A waist of money

This was a interesting hotel to say the least. I enjoyed my experience overall. But while the interiors service and sites were top notch the rooms were the opposite. Lose light switches, faulty shower houses, grime on the tubs sides, and a broken blind so I couldn't raise one of the windows for the amazing view. On a more positive the receptionist was amazing and help a non Spanish gringo like myself check in easily, the breakfest was amazing there are many sites worth exploring in the hotel, and the rooms aren't bad if you get past how dated and faulty many of them are.

I stayed in five star hotels all around the world, and have never been treated so poorly and had my concerns disregarded by the employees I wish I could post a video on this review on how bad my room besides half the things in the room being broken. When trying to go to bed and shutting off the lights and they keep flickering so I call maintenance to fix it and they switch my room after napping able to fix it, and have me move all my stuff at 1AM in the morning all alone then I go downstairs the next morning and ask for some kind of compensation for this trouble where I’m told that will provide me with a free shuttle to the airport, I can’t believe that this is a five star hotel.

We absolutely love this Hotel is Historic landmark of the city of Bogotá Colombia. 75 years of prestige. We felt privileged to stay in this elegant & classic hotel. We did celebrate our 45th Anniversary, the bakery made us a beautiful cake. Hope we can come back soon. THANK YOU TO Everyone THAT HAS PART OF RUNNING THIS FABULOUS HOTEL TEQUENDAMA!

Big rooms but the utilities and decorations look like from 1990. Great location. The buffet breakfast had lots of options. The ascensor is shared with the service so it might take some minutes before it arrives to your call.

Hotel Tequendama is an older hotel but appropriately updated. It is a good value for the amenities, breakfast included, which was a buffet of many items. A washcloth was provided (rare in Colombia), magnifying mirror in bathroom, and different voltage outlets for international travelers. Great view from my room. Location is near lots of shops and things to see. Drivers in white vehicles outside hotel accept credit card for payment.

Lovely older five star hotel offering old world charm. This hotel is being renovated to bring it back to it's glory. Nevertheless, my room was clean, bright and spacious with a comfy king sized bed and a large safe that could hold my laptop and my valuables. The gym equipment was super clean and new. Worked out every day and there was never more than one other person there. The buffet breakfast was really great and staff and service were fantastic. This hotel was amazing value for the money. It was so much nicer than the air bnb I originally booked and it was the same price. Lots of coffee shops, restaurants and stores located on site.

This is one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. It is in generally poor condition. Here are some highlights: -dirty and scuffed walls in room and bathroom -holes and a hook in wall from curtains that were no longer installed -dirty blind -no chair at desk -floors only dust mopped not vacuumed, so plenty of dirt -often no hot water in shower -fixtures in bathroom hanging half off the walls -gym was dirty with no disinfectant and one of two treadmills broken, generally poor equipment and no ventilation -quality of food at breakfast was only fair, poor at dinner -many rooms were very cold The area around the hotel is not nice. The only nice thing are the staff, who are friendly and try hard. Room rates are high for this poor quality, condition and area - there are many nice hotels in Bogotá, Tequendama is definitely not one of them.

I was greatly surprised. The support with my son sickness was incredible and generous. All the people were very active helping me out. I have never experienced this before in any hotel. The hotel Tequendama is above the level. Very very good.

Fantastic staff is really what makes Tequendama so great to be at. Very friendly and helpful, housekeeping is superb and precise, and requests are accommodated very well. The food at the in-house restaurant is absolutely fantastic, surprising my wife and I very pleasantly, so much so that we've opted for eating at the hotel most nights over other local places. It really cannot be overstated how good the food is. The rooms are a little dated but clean and comfortable, beds are nice and the furnishings work well. Overall great experience, would absolutely stay here again.

The hotel is nice and has adequate accommodations, although a bit old for my taste. However, the location is terrible. That part of Bogota is not very safe and not very hip. You're better off staying uptown.

Complete waste of money (not sure how they have a four star rating but very misleading). The front desk barely speaks English. The check-in was late 3pm, but even then the room still was not ready. The TV's are in Spanish only (no it wasn't a TV setting or anything). The room looks like straight of the 1980's. It is a one star or two star hotel at best which should be reflected in the price but they charge what a four star or five star hotel would.

Not exactly in a good neighborhood... A little bit old fashioned... But an excellent service at the restaurant and a very good room.

The room is good but the customer service is excellent. They go above and beyond to help any problems or concerns. I'll be staying here again when I come back to Bogota.

It's a very nice hotel with people that cares about their customers. The room was clean and comfortable. The food were delicious for breakfast. It has a great location with a lot of police to make your stay very secure

About the Presidential Suite - it has never been upgraded from the 1920s to have a ventilation system. The jacuzzi takes a 1/2 hour to fill because the water just gravity drains from one floor up. There is no pressurized water service to the rooms. Same goes for the showers. Maintenance is awful - Cat 5 floor outlets disappearing into their junction boxes, piano keys that do not work, most remote batteries are dead, and windows that need plenty of muscle to be opened to get the mandatory "manual" ventilation needed. Jacuzzi controls are bashed-in as shown in the attached photo. Nothing except silverware furnished in the kitchen. Even the main bathroom is out of date with 1960s style showerhead. Food is fair to inedible, and the inedible part is the native Colombian cuisine, charred black and dry enough to break a tooth. All room service soda is served at room temperature, so hopefully they keep remembering to provide ice. You being served coffee service with broken carafes is expected. There is a sophisticated light and blackout system that is extremely confusing to use, with no instructions with very tiny labeling. I told the front desk there was several lights bulbs blow out, and I was expected to identify them or else the comment would not be acted on. Some of the old world charm of the presidential suite is being subducted by modern hotel rooms and lack of maintenance.

DUMP alert ! Unfortunately, nobody cares about you, especially if you are a foreigner. Room was dirty, the smell was terrible, like if someone was in terrible condition before I got the room ... Impossible to stay in the room. Management has refuses to give me another room. Had to go elsewhere, without any kind of refund or compensation [lost of 486$]. After talking with some Colombian colleagues, apparently it's a trick that the management people do to "gain more money" ... seriously, wow ! As a business professional, this situation is unacceptable ! After trying to "negotiate" with the KingPin of that hotel with my Colombian colleagues, I can confirm that the management is incompetent, agressive with a condescendant attitude. I was checking my back when I left ... Stay away that dump my friends !

Carolina, Xiomara, Juan Carlos, all the security team, housekeeping, all of them, they made my daughter's dream of having a magical stay real, she loved it and was pampered by EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF THE STAFF, she loved the suite, the desserts... Thanks! Couldn't be more grateful.

You clearly understand why this is a five star hotel when you enter the lobby. The staff were very friendly and helpful and if you need anything they will bring it to you immediately. The room was big and luxurious. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had everything I could dream about.

Very good location, friendly staff, late checkout, amazing breakfast but the rooms and bathrooms are a bit outdated (on floor 12 at least); airport shuttle not too frequent but they organise good and reliable taxi service to airport

I have mixed feelings with this place. I travel a lot for work and this is definitely not a 5 star hotel in my opinion. This one was for vacation. Pros: service was Outstanding they always greet us with a huge smile and were polite, helpful and gently around the hotel and in the restaurant, price is really competitive, plenty transportation options, breakfast was included, plenty of police (a taxi driver told us the place was administered by the police) Bed and pillows were comfy and even when we were in front of a huge avenue the Windows worked perfect blocking all the noise. We had dinner at the restaurant El Virrey and food was ok (not bad but not amazing) Cons: I didn't like the location at all it didn't felt safe after 6:00 pm, you have absolutely nothing to do, breakfast was good but you got the same food everyday (we were there for a week) the only thing that changed daily was the type of calentado) so by the 4th day we were tired of eating the same food. The housekeeping service was really bad, we had two towels for the whole week, they never let additional toilet paper (as embarassing as it sounds, one day we called the front desk to ask for toilet paper because we had none). Bed shirts had stains (see picture) and the room walls had stains all over the place (like dirty hand prints). If I ever return yo Bogotá I'll find other place to stay.

Great location and the staff is first rate, very helpful! Easy walks to the National Museum and the MAMBO. Longer walks to Simon Bolivar Square and the Gold Museum, but doable. The suites, on the top floors are very nice with amazing views on either side. This is an extremely affordable stay!

Overall, this place was a great value and a memorably positive experience. The restaurant was great, especially the extensive breakfast, which was included. Cool that there’s a coffee shop and a BBC bar in the hotel, but wish their open hours were wider. Staff were kind and professional. Main detractor: rooms and location. Rooms aren’t up to date, with hard mattresses, poor water pressure, and unreliable outlets. The location is not tourist-oriented, better suited to business travelers.

Service OK. No ambiance. Slow elevators gosh. They did not have Cerveza Negra club Colombia. I only took the entrée of shrimps. They called it Ceviche Al Peru? Jajaja ! Nothing like it. As you can see not cooked with acidity, but barely three sauces. One was Thousand islands, the Fancy name for ketchup and mayo mixed. Another one coco was more coco water than coco milk it was very watery, and you can see how badly the fish was cut. It was badly and quickly made. Not properly cut makes big chunks. The bar b q sauce was very standard and not spicy. Overall a very disappointing experience, even more for a hotel. I understand why the place was empty. Slow service. Kind waiters. I do not recommend will not come back. Better value anywhere else Edit : this review is only about the restaurant within the hotel, not the hotel.

The checkin is a big chaos. Quewing since 1 hour with dozens of other guests and the staff seems completely helpless

Could use some updates. Food was basic. Room service was non existent. Had a great stay until at 3am front desk assigned my room to another guest and thought I was getting broken into.

Overall definitely good accommodations, good breakfast and friendly staffs. I was happy until I returned and picked up my luggages and the iPhone charger I left in my room. Due to an early-morning tour, I just deposited my luggages in the hotel. I was also aware that I forgot my iPhone charger in my room, so I called the hotel in my tour, 15min after my checkout. They told me that they have found it in my room. Then in the night, when I was picking up my items, they told me I need to get my luggages the next day. What?! My flight takes off tomorrow morning. I gave some pressure and they returned my luggages soon. If it’s the end of story, I believe I will still recommend this hotel. What makes me really angry is the experience of getting back my iPhone charger. They validated the color of the charger, and told me to wait for 5min. I then called Uber to send me to next destination (which is arriving in 18min). Then 10min later, still no news. I then come back to ask, and they then started looking for that. 10min later, they brought a Huawei style charger to me….. My Uber also got canceled. I was quite disappointed already…. I’m pretty sure they already found my iPhone charger in the morning; otherwise why they told me they found that earlier in the morning? Luckily they are doing their best helping me to revisit the room and listening to my explanations. Then the staff went to the lost-found room. It does take quite a while and found it…. Overall, I think as a 5-star hotel, I’m still surprised they can make such mistake. I was barely waiting for 10 minutes at the beginning without any progress. Also, the lost-found management seems quite unprofessional. Their attitude is definitely good overall. The staffs are extremely nice and patient where I feel hard to blame, but there’s a notable gap in terms of the management. I do want to say that they are overall not a bad option, but given my personal unhappy experience on lost-and-found, I do feel disappointed…. 3 points for good accommodations and friendly staff, -2 for my personal experience and their lacking in better management

Tired and half closed hotel. Shocking check in which lasted about 30 minutes. No robe and towel for pool. Changing room closed in pool so you have to change in the toilet. Only one place to eat or drink in entire hotel with the most terrible service I have ever experienced.

Overall a good hotel. The rooms, particularly the beds and TV's need to be updated. Probably the hardest bed I've slept on in my life. The area is ok...just don't walk in the wrong direction as it's on the border of a not so good area. I'm from NYC so it's just another day in the city for me. I really didn't care for the lack of very hot water in the shower. Being that it does get cold here and no heat/AC controls exist in rooms, a hot shower to warm up really would've been appreciated. Though looking as if it came straight from the mid 90s, the hotel is very clean and the staff are very nice. Seems this is more of an events type of hotel.

I stayed in July 2019 and I chose this hotel for the location and the historical significance of the hotel. I liked the good treatment I received by the staff at the reception, the housekeeping. and the spa. I got a last-minute discount plus genius discount by booking directly with booking. My favorite part was the spa with the jacuzzi, pool, steam room and sauna. The view from my bedroom on the executive floor was beautiful during the day and at night. Parts of the hotel are like a museum which was a pleasant surprise. Seeing the military police outside the hotel was kind of cool. I also liked the infamous history of the hotel which made it a fun place to stay for one night. I really like the heated pool. I wish the staff knew more about the hotel history, I asked many questions but the general staff did not really have much of an idea. The security is a bit heavy-handed watching my every move... at times I did not really feel like a welcomed guest. I did not like the lighting of the hotel in the lobby. The sauna needs to be rebuilt as I find it a bit dangerous the wood feel like it's about to break and the screws/nails seem a bit dangerous. Registering myself and my guest just takes way to long during check-in. I have made my reservation on booking and all of my information is there. What more do they need? I understand a photocopy of my passport entry stamp for tax purposes, a credit card and my signature. I wish the process were quicker.

This hotel is a good value for your money. It's all about location if you want to be close to downtown. Had some issues with the hot water but everything else was fine.

Decent hotel, super cheap for the location (unbeatable- walking distance from old town and all restaurants and sights) and amenities. Skip breakfast and room service and get the local food - it’s a lot better quality and tasty. Some things to note, room service has to be paid for when it was delivered to the room and the waiter did not bring it inside (strange for a 5 star hotel). Most staff do not speak English. We put our do not disturbed sign and housekeeping ignored it and entered anyway - luckily we weren’t there. We only stayed two nights so didn’t want a change of sheets and towels (sustainability). Overall, would recommend for short stays in Bogotá!

Decent rooms with helpful staff and great location near city centre. Was on a business trip so can't comment on the cost. They need more vegetarian and vegan dinning options. Currently, there are very limited options in the restaurant for vegetarians. They can take out peace of meat out of sandwich to call it vegetarian!!
