The airport is fantastic, i know many airports around the world and I think this is one of my favorites... looks classy, has wonderful bathrooms, great lounges, stores and facilities, and lately the immigration process is getting more efficient and faster...

This is should be the standard for all South American airports. This airport is vast, but manageable. The check in area is very modern. Getting to and from the airport is a breeze, and no stress as there’s always cabs available, and Ubers operate with ease, unlike in other countries in the continent. Immigration leaving on our day was quick, and took maybe 15 seconds to clear. Security which is right after the immigration took just as long. Immigration coming into Bogota on our day was about 15 minutes. This here is really the only weak point of the airport that we have seen. We have used this airport twice. There are a lot of lounges available here.

El Dorado International Airport is undeniably the gateway to Colombia's vibrant and diverse landscapes. As a frequent traveler, I've had the privilege of passing through this airport multiple times, and it continues to impress me with its improvements and service. Firstly, the airport's cleanliness and organization stand out. The terminals are well-maintained, and the staff is generally helpful and friendly. The immigration and security processes have become more efficient over the years, making the journey smoother for both domestic and international travelers. The shopping and dining options within the airport are diverse, offering a taste of Colombian cuisine and a variety of duty-free shopping opportunities. You can find everything from local souvenirs to global luxury brands. The terminal feels like a mini-mall, which is perfect for last-minute shopping or enjoying a meal before your flight. One of the standout features of El Dorado is its impressive art installations and cultural displays. These add a unique touch to the airport, showcasing Colombia's rich heritage and artistic talents. It's a delightful way to pass the time during layovers. The only reason I'm not giving a full 5-star rating is because, like many busy international airports, El Dorado can get crowded, especially during peak travel times. However, this is a minor inconvenience considering the overall positive experience. In conclusion, El Dorado International Airport is a vital hub that provides an excellent first impression of Colombia. It's an efficient, clean, and culturally rich airport that sets the stage for an unforgettable journey through this beautiful country. I look forward to my next visit and the adventures that await beyond its doors.

An international airport with ONLY 30 minutes of free WiFi??? What a joke! Airline receptionist tend to be slow and unorganized. Lack of seating pre& check-in area. No where to plug-in and charge your phone. Everything else moves smoothly.

I don’t like this airport. Sometimes immigration takes up to above 1h. This is not ok! Some officials need to lose their job for total failure! Not nice to start vacation in Colombia. Total chaos and missed connection flight!

If there's one thing South America excels at when it comes to infrastructure, it's its airports. Bogota is one of the top hubs, if not the best, in South America. Even when landing on the apron, you can reach your connecting flight within 45 minutes, despite the enormous rush at the security checks (not including possible migration checks).

Great airport! Domestic flight terminal has free lounge chairs with a great view. You can take drinks from outside within security zone. No need to unpack anything. Best experience ever. If you arrive and need transport, I don't recommend uber. Instead order a normal yellow taxi via the uber app. Uber drivers get fined at airport and my driver left me waiting 20 minutes and then canceled. Taxi was three directly and even cheaper

Having a good time here. My second time. Fortunately I am not sleeping here today but I like the layout. Lots of clean bathrooms and friendly staff. Fun little restaurants. Modern.

A good airport with good services. The two things to improve are 1. Immigration takes too long 2. Wifi. It’s set only for one hour, which is the time it takes to get through immigration Overall, a very good airport though

About departure access, Uber, food court, wifi. International area looks like it was built recently, wide hallways, and stores everywhere. Going into the international departure access is tricky, it’s not really well marked. National departure is located in a weird section, like in the back of some stores. It’s not a huge airport but with enough space to walk everywhere without looking too crowded. Tips: Departures are in second floor. Check-in counters are divided in three divided sections, just keep walking until you find your airline. Food court is in the third floor (not indicated anywhere), and with really good traditional meals. At the end (north) of the first floor there is a kiosk doing short term storage for your luggage ($7/ 12 hours), it works 24/7. They scan your baggage with xray and only receives cash. The traffic is horrible, your taxi can take easily 20 minutes to get there. Uber is not totally legal, but the app runs and you’ll can find rides everywhere anytime.

Great place. A lot of restaurants and stores throughout. Easily check your flight on numerous monitors. Security and Customs was extremely quick with no B.S. like at LAX. Flight was on time and the boarding process was simple and easy. Blows my mind how airports in the U.S. are so disorganized yet all these other countries make it so easy.

The upgraded airport is world class. Everything just flows here. Gone are the days of moving from one line to another to another with questionable objectives. Everything from taxi drop off to check in to immigration to security is super smooth. You seldom wait for five minutes at each. The people are what make this airport so special. They really work to make your time here pleasant.

Very big airport. Plenty of restaurants and shops. Bathrooms left something to be desired. Waiting areas were comfortable enough. You have to pay for WiFi.

Clean and modern, however certain processes are not optimized, which is problematic given the context of the pandemic. For example, there are only 2 doors to exit the luggage claim hall, with each door only allowing one person to go through at a time. This kind of bottleneck creates huge crowds (see picture). Long lines also form outside the airport as travelers are required to show their tickets at the airport door rather than at the security checkpoint.

The overall facilities are ok, bathrooms were clean spotless and there's a handful of options to eat. That being said, the boarding staff (and by that I mean LOCAL staff) of certain airlines (in my case it was Air France) seems to either misunderstand their scope or were profiling people... Never before I was asked for so many documents (all of which I did have, but never expected to present while still in the Americas) to fly overseas, not even when crossing borders in Europe itself, I was merely on this airport for a transfer and it turned into something extremely tedious. Typically I do the transfer directly from my country (Panama) and it's a smooth process. Out of the 5 airports roundtrip I visited, this has to be the most tedious and bureaucratic. I will definitely dodge any transfer here, let alone consider visiting Colombia if it has to be through this airport.

It's a big international airport with great facilities. Enterance is easy. There are porter and luggage protection services. Exchange rates are good (Strange fact: Euro rate is better than US Dollars) Check in desks are busy with long lines. Oversize luggage service is by the entrance of the departures. There are fine restaurants and lounges around the gates. Free shops are mediocre. The craziest part is there's no smoking area after the passport control. Finding out that just before a 15 hour flight is not nice at all.

The airport is full of situations where many take any chance to make money with the most absurd stuff, like paying to borrow a luggage trolley or having to buy loads of extra stuff to be able to get the obligatory facemask in covid times. It feels like all those extra stuff are a sort of bureaucracy to keep people occupied with the most ridiculous and shameless stuff. I would gladly avoid this airport.

Although it is not one of the worst airports, it is worth highlighting the difficulty in finding seats in various areas of the airport. Also connectors. The bathrooms are, I think, extremely far apart. Fortunately, the employees are mostly friendly. Although of course, with the exception of Customs officers. But as is known these are not very nice individuals in almost all airports and countries. It is said that because of the many hours they necessarily remain seated, they almost always have that bad mood.

The airport is clear, the staff is very nice, but the WiFi is really stupid. You can't connect because there is always some problem with the mobile number. And even if you do it, you can only use the Internet freely for 30 minutes. Otherwise you have to pay for the other tariffs. Very annoying for international guests because without a Colombian SIM card you can't maintain contact with your home or you have to pay.

Inefficient checking in process and some staff are just not there to provide quality services at all. I arrived at the airport over 3 hours to check in for my flight to Miami and they almost failed to let me in on time due to a very long line for security check in. Then right before you board the airline (AA) conducted another search on your bags. I was told my small package of coffee was over limit. A gesture to help local economy went unappreciated. The airport needs to reform and change its way if doing business. Colombia- what an amazing country and wonderful people !! Yet its capital airport does not meet the expectation of being efficient and friendly toward its customers.

  • 2/5 Pedro Z. 2 years ago on Google
Unfortunately, someone in the airport created way too many unnecessary check points, not security check points. There's two check points, at least, per line; at the airport entry, at the awful airline counter when you check in, at the international entry line area, at the security point, at the departure gate and then at the huge line right before boarding the plane. Everyone asked for your passport and pass it along. I thought that we all need to avoid to transmit the virus and respect social distance. Overall, this airport is a complete chaos.

Probably the easiest, quickest entry into a country that I cay remember. Immigrations and Customs both went so smoothly. By the time I'd taken cash out of the atm and walked over to the luggage carousel, my bag was there! Just be careful of "transportation assistants." They get a big commission. He was telling me it's 50,000 to Candelaria. I got a regular yellow taxi for 30,000.

The PCR testing building is across the street From the airport at the end of the parking lot & they take debit cards make sure you are at the airport three hours ahead of your departure time because it's always busy even at 5am trust me you'll thank me later you will pay a little over a hundred bucks and the results come back quickly on your phone's email just show that to the ticket agent along with everything else and your ready to go through customs and bord your flight

It's a good airport, well organized. All shops, restaurants and lounges open. You can enter the airport only if you have a boarding pass. Security is very easy, you can pass it with any size liquid if you fly domestically. Lounges are good and serve hot food only by the menu. Boarding in Avianca flights is easy and quick.

We landed here from Los Angeles. Overall airport is really nice. The immigration took forever. Over an hour to get through. Please check the video showing the craziness. Other than that everything went smooth. Once you pass immigration, you have to do security check again to board a domestic flight.

I’ve never had any problems here at this airport so far and I’ve been flying back and forth to this airport at least a dozen times now. The immigration line is slow. Plan for at least an hour in immigration, especially if you have a connecting flight and you should be fine. If you need a free yellow fever shot, they have a free clinic in this airport as well.
