I wish more cities would do this on their rivers .it's not affecting anything and it's creating a fun atmosphere for people when the natural situation doesn't work. I'll be honest, The green belt at Boise is fake .it's what there is for real in Washington and Idaho and Oregon and many other areas but has been replicated because it didn't exist before. The lakes and streams all are dead there's not much wildlife but it's still very welcome. Without the rehabilitation to this area it would still be a wasteland. I see some disrespect by the different types of users everybody needs to coexist. Nobody deserves any more rights than any other group, Understand this and everyone can get along easily. Be respectful of property owners but as a property owner understand that you don't own rights to anything beyond your Borders, Not even the air, the view ,or the sound that comes into your ears. The surfing waves are spectacular and really should be done anywhere it can be without affecting nature. There could be so many of these to where there wouldn't be lineups of people waiting to have fun. If we spent more money on things like this instead of TV's The world would be a better place. Bring your board, rent one Or borrow one from some new buddy. Don't be safe just be smart. If you're not used to cold water wear a wet suit. Help out others if you see trouble, But understand that you should be self-sufficient. Don't make the government have to police anything. Government hear this stop lying to people about policing that isn't happening, Yet you're threatening that it is. Most of all just have fun and enjoy nature whether it's fake or not!

The Whitewater Park has restored natural raparian systems along the Boise River and, at the same time, provided an extraordinary recreational amenity for the enjoyment of Treasure Valley residents as well as visitors from afar.

This is one of the treasures in Boise and people know it. There is a beach kids can swim in for the summer, placing to boat, beautiful paths. We love coming here.

Just visiting from out of state and Wow, what a great park! We loved the winding paths, something different to see or do everywhere. It was beautiful, and I'll bet the whitewater activities are really fun. Good on 'ya, Boise!

I don't know how I Benet visited before but I love this place! Easily my favorite place in Boise. It almost has a seaside feel to it with the townhouses and restaurants on the greenbelt.

Easy rental or BYO board, some days setup for kayaks, other days surfing..or just have fun and play. The water is cool which feels great on a hot day or bring a wet suit if you got one or don't like cold water. I recommend water shoes of any kind because it is a bit shallow and you can scrape up your knees/legs/feet. Some kids had on PFDs but not required use your own common Sense on that one. Awesome fun to play or watch!
