Unfortunately I didn’t have the best experience here. My family and I were wanting a traditional German meal which we got, but there was poor service. The waitress was implying that we must give a tip. I definitely would have given a tip if there was friendly service, but there wasn’t. Overall, good food and good location.

The gentleman Mr. Ömer welcomed us at the restaurant and informed us about the menu in detail! Typical German restaurant with a great staff! Ambiance was nice, should try baked potatoes:) Plates were full, prices are normal.

Nice place to have a beer and eat local stuff. Almost all of the customers were locals. I ordered Vienna schnitzel only because I was half full. They cooked it with butter therefore taste wise it was okay however meat was a little bit tough. I order mashed potato as a side nothing special but didn't find anything to complain. I believe 17€ for Main+side+salad+small beer is a fair deal.

Satisfied with high quality food and reasonable price. No parking but easy to access it near cityhall. Crowded than we expected. After dinner, unfortunately, the crew charged almost 10 times money on my friend's credit card. They apologized and refunded the changes in cash. They need more professional crews than now. 😄

Service is fantastic, and we love the environment. The staff there really know how to take care of customers. They serve authentic German food. It was a bit on a salty side but its ok we can down it with tasty beer.

Good food - bad service. Although the food is delicious, the service here is the worst among German restaurants in Düsseldorf-Cologne-Bonn area. You have to wait 30 minutes for a mug of beer and another hour for hot dishes to be brought out. You have to be reminded several times about the extra beer. Dirty dishes are not removed from the table. After dinner, the waiter could not believe that only 4 mugs of beer had been drunk for two people in over two hours and had to clarify several times that it were not 6 beers. Very slow service during all three visits. For comparison in Cologne and Düsseldorf beer is served instantly. However the food is great!

Had a craving for Schweinshaxe decided to give this place for a try. It's not the best I had but better than most. The skin was a bit though to eat, but the meat was cooked just right. There are ways to make the skin crunchier, they just didn't take that extra step. I would definitely recommend the steak, it was done on point. I would stay away from the ribs, unless you really like gamey meat, but I don't blame the restaurant for that. You can't really control if a meat is gamey. The only real issue I had was the service was really slow. We had came in and sat there for a long time and no one brought us a menu. I had to get up and literally tell one of the staff and ask for a menu. When we finally got one they didn't really give us much time to look thru the menu and we had to tell them to give us a minute to decide (big mistake on that part). The waiter never came back to ask if we where ready to order and just kept walking by us to take other people's order (not sure if it was because we look like tourist, we're not...). I literally had to stop him when he walked by. When we were ready to pay, we saw one of the staff and asked for the check. Not sure if the person that helped us was the manager or not, but he was super friendly (he was the only reason I added 1 more star), wished we had him as a server from the beginning. I'm sure we would have had a better experience.

Very traditional German food. You'll either love it or hate it. Fermented beans are surprisingly good. Spinach is as you would expect though. Don't forget to tip the waiter like I did. It seems to be expected here unlike in other German restaurants.

The food was great! Very delicious. Portions are very generous. The atmosphere is nice and the story behind the building and restaurant is interesting. Staff are all very friendly and welcoming. All in all, a great experience.

What can I say? My dear Rhineland in a nutshell. A true Bonner classic, worth every visit.

Food was horrible! Wienersnietzel for kids exremely raw and difficult to chew (and of very small size relative to other places im Bonn and Koeln) . Lamb meat as from plastic. Avoid!

It's a traditional German restaurant. The restaurant opened in 1389 and it was famous for Beethoven dancing there. You can enjoy the beer and food feeling with the atmosphere of a traditional German house. The servers are nice and the food and beer are delicious!

Quite good food. Very German! However, the waiters are very, very unfriendly. And if you miss to pay a tip, they even follow you up to the entrance door to remind you of giving your quarter... quite embarrassing...

Went here twice, it was so good. The waiter was charismatic and extremely helpful to my mostly non-German speaking group. Over the two nights my wife and I had the wurstplatte, schnitzel, a taste of the pretzel, potato pancakes, and kolsch. I enthusiastically recommend the wurst and kolsch. Pancakes were a bit underwhelming.

always a must when in Bonn. Great local food and beer and also the interior of the restaurant make a visit typical for Bonn. Directly next to townhall, this restaurant has historic value. I used to frequent it for dinner in 1983 during my university days. Its amazing how some areas preserve their presence!

Saurbraten was melt in your mouth and fantastic. Tender meat with a sour tang, smothered in a savory brown gravy. Comfort food German style! This is a large restaurant with plenty of seating, and was full on a Tuesday night. English menu is available, but is way easier if your table has a German speaker.

😐 Pizza is big and service is nice. Very full during summer days as you can sit outside with a nice view. Prices are ok for the offered food and beverage.

😠 Never ever again! 😡🤬🤯 Everything went fair till the moment of paying. The place did not accept credit / debit cards issued outside of Germany ( neither VISA / Master Card ). We tried 9 ( nine ) different cards from three countries. At the end, the manager on duty, claiming that we want to “steal”...
