Three takeaways: Fantastic espresso. Quality service with a personal touch. Australian theme and flavor. Recently moved into the apartments above and decided to try out this coffee shop. When I walked in, I was greeted by the owner, Todd, an Australian gentleman who has a strong love of coffee. He was patient in answering all my questions about the coffee, the food and his Australian theme. He was also training a new staff member, highlighting the need for being attentive and delivering quality in both service and espresso making. So you're wondering what's Australian about this place? Well Todd shared it is that the way they do their espresso. To me it is a little stronger and flavorful. They also have these awesome breakfast meat and vegetarian pies. Last but not least they have Tim Tams and even tell you how to do the Tim Tam Slam. Fair warning, that if you do the Tim Tam Slam, you're likely to get chocolate all over your face and fingers your first time. The regular coffee isn't anything to rave about, which means it's not great but not bad. The regular pastries leave a lot to be desired. There muffins, scone and croissant I have tried all were dry on the inside and lacking much flavor. Despite that I love this place! Every visit back since the first, either Todd or another staff have been wonderful to chat with and order from. The quality is consistent and taste is deliciously amazing.

Their espresso drinks are the best in Ink Block, no question. Their Australian pies and sausage rolls are tasty.

Interior was very spacious and had a chill atmosphere. Their meat pies were really delicious. We had the Bushman and Classic Beef pies. Their granola breakfast bowl was yummy as well. Lastly, I ordered an Australian Iced Coffee and it was delectable! Highly recommend this coffee spot!

Delicious lattes, friendly service, and great Aussie pies! Highly recommend a stop here. They have nice seating indoors and outdoors. No public restroom but there is a Whole Foods a block away with a restroom.

Awesome little coffee shop! Definitely will come back to try the Australian iced coffee(latte with ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate powder)! The cold brew and Ned Kelly were spot on!

Delicious bushman pie and english breakfast tea (with a splash of milk). Heard the beef and cheese was delicious too. Great place to go get a coffee with a friend and relax at. 10/10 would recommend!

Surprisingly nice little hide away, where you can get a very nice latte and find a cozy spot in the next room to enjoy it alone or with company. Lots on the menu of both drinks and sweets and more. Stop in and check it out! Great prices too!

Meat pies are fantastic here. The lattes’s are also made perfectly down to the milk texture. The roast is dark and full-bodied.

Do not sleep on cuppa coffee! It is amazing. The coffee is some of the best I’ve ever had. Blueberry muffins are AMAZING! And they have Iggy’s bagels! What more could you want :). The owner is very passionate about Aussie coffee and kind. Highly recommend this place! You won’t be disappointed. A gem in Boston.

Cool coffee shoppe with great quality food but very expensive overall and the coffee was just ok. Staff was friendly, the restaurant space was nice with outdoor seating available, and for the most part it was clean. They didn’t have many people working and it was somewhat apparent as napkins and things weren’t stocked and the two people working were hustling hard behind the counter serving people. I got a great bacon egg and cheese sandwich with avocado but it was $13 which is crazy for a 5 inch sandwich (however it was delicious).

I recently visited Cuppacoffee in the South End of Boston and I was blown away. The flat white coffee was the perfect way to start my day. The Ned Kelly pie was delicious. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was very cozy. Highly recommend Cuppacoffee!

Great cappuccino and other coffee. They’ll make it the way you want. Nice place to sit and sip. You can have your drink in a real mug. Interesting Australian pastry to try, but a bit pricey. If you’re in the Ink Block area if them a try.

Fast-forward a few years and I stopped by to see how things were. Amazing to see it just as I remembered, if not even better! Got my favorite Aussie pie, a cup of coffee and took some beans with me to brew up when I'm back on the West Coast. The service was solid, and Todd (owner) still does a great job finding good people full of character to work for him. Look forward to the next visit! My favorite coffee shop in the city. I've been a regular for over a year now and highly recommend their espresso drinks and aussie pies. My favorite pie is the Chicken Curry Vegetable, but honestly they are all good. I have to admit that I get a flavored latte, but the espresso is excellent. The owner is an Australian who appreciates the art of coffee and quality service. His staff are all different characters but provide great service. Everyone I bring here has enjoyed the coffee, food and atmosphere.

Very good coffee ( I had a medium hot cafe latte) and I enjoyed it. Pleasant staff. I will be returning there. I went to their store in the South End. They have another one in the West End. Australian ambiance. I recommend it!

Delicious coffee in a Aussie feeling pub atmosphere. Huge selection of baked goods as well. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Make sure you sign up for the loyalty program?

This place actually does decent espresso (EXTREMELY hard to find in Boston for some reason?) and the food was delicious. Everything came to a good price ($34 for two breakfasts and two flat whites). If I lived in Boston, this would be my go-to spot!

Nice location, great coffee options, and good service. Owner is Australian. Not a lot of coffee options in the area so this is the one. Haven’t tried the food but looks appetizing.

Not too big but there is enough space to do some work on a peaceful Sunday afternoon. Good variety of coffee, desserts, and food.

  • 3/5 alejandra c. 4 years ago on Google
Muffin and sandwiches okay. My sandwich was cold, they didn’t have an oven to put it in. They simply said they had a microwave but that makes the sandwich soggy. The people were really nice though

This place is generally great, but service is hit or miss. A young gentleman helped us one day and was friendly and even offered us ideas of places to see in the city (we’re visiting). In stark contrast, on another day, the young lady serving us rolled her eyes at me when I ordered an espresso, saying under her breath, but so that we could hear, “every time I clean this thing, someone orders another one.” I shouldn’t be made to feel guilty at a coffee shop just for ordering a coffee. Update/answer to owner reply: I didn’t know how to reply, so just updating my review here. I really appreciate your concern and can see that customer service is important to you. It was actually that day, Wednesday afternoon around 430pm, I didn’t want to be specific to necessarily single out the worker but certainly to answer the owner about it.

Came in here for breakfast with my friends and we had the best experience. Pies are incredible and the lattes were the best I’ve ever had. Most importantly, service was impeccable! 10/10!

Modern trendy good products slightly expensive but that's not the impression you leave with it is not crowded now but there are a lot of luxury high-rise going up in the area so within the year I'm sure they will be swarmed with business and do just fine

My fav coffee shop at Ink Block! Owner is so awesome. Service is always great. Food is stellar. And, the coffee is the bomb, strong and hot.

  • 5/5 Candace S. 3 years ago on Google
Great service. Answered all of our questions about their food and drink options. The smashed avocado on toast was very refreshing and their classic Australian beef pie was amazing. Their flat white was just what my husband wanted. The iced chai was great, it is made with an espresso shot, which to me, as a person who doesn't drink coffee, seemed very strong. Would definitely go again

Like the outback decor! Coffee is good. Service is the point behind the 4 star. It is hit or miss and at one point I brought a friend, who was treated rudly. I haven't been back since. They do have good drinks though limited by the Covid. Their food is good tasting. Some of the pastries are a bit dried out. The muffins are excellent!

Let me start right off the bat, by saying that I would not return to this coffee shop. I'll start with the good points first. Coffee's great, food is pretty good. The atmosphere is cool, and they have tons of books you can read during your visit. With my experience, I ordered with what seemed like a new barista. I've been new on the job before and I currently work in customer service. I had nothing but patience. He was struggling with some of the things I ordered so, a female barista took his place. That woman, was absolutely condescending. I ordered a "salmon bagel" which confused our original barista, because he thought it was a salmon flavored bagel rather than lox sandwich. I said to him just that and she retorted with "OH! I'm sorry, did you used to work here? No? It seems like you know everything that's behind the counter." I said no, it was just an educated guess based on common sense. I let that slide. After she told us the total she asked if we had a rewards card, in which my boyfriend and I said no to. She upped her rude tone and said "Oh, I thought you had already been here since you seem to know everything on our menu." I hope she doesn't treat her colleagues that way, because that kind of attitude isn't worth anyone's time.
