Food was delicious. Wished that the oxtail had less fat on it and more of the meat. But that gravy was scrumptious. Also like the pickled cabbage side salad. The plantains were delicious and so was the rice and beans. There were no menus anywhere. But we looked at the menu ahead of time before coming in so we knew what we wanted. The lady who helped us wasn’t very friendly and looked bored. Felt like she looked down on me or something. She asked us what we wanted. Again there was NO MENU IN SIGHT. Odd experience. We sat down and ate our food. The other lady was very nice and hospitable tho slightly inappropriate to the other customers that came in. Food was not that good to return for bad service. I’ll make my own oxtail.

Discovered this place while school shopping with my sister, and needed a bite to eat. I never had Ox tail before and was hesitant to try it. The wonderful lady working there let us try a sample of the meats they offered. Everything was amazing and I really enjoyed the ox tail. She told us everything is cooked with bone in to help make their sauces, it gives it such a rich and powerful taste. I ordered it and was extremely pleased. I was full after the meal. Everyone was so friendly and the place was very clean. I highly recommend to anyone who hasn't had ox tail or Caribbean food. This place is the best. They cook everything with love.

Absolutely the best Caribbean food I've have ever had! My grandmother born and raised in Jamaica always cooked rice and peas accompanied by a meat. This awesome hidden jem is the closest thing to Grandma's cooking...you have a customer for life! Oxtail is mouth watering delicious....Thank you for blessing us with your amazing flavors and delicious foods.

When you're tired of the same old same old this place will delight. Try the cow foot soup and spicy meat patty. The oxtail is also very good. Super friendly staff and owner makes sure everyone is taken care of.

The oxtail is amazing. So full of flavor. The rice and peas are perfect. I have also tried the stewing chicken and it is also amazing but my favorite is the oxtail. The to lovely ladies that run it are super sweet and make you feel like family. Love, love, love this place. Try the oxtail you won't regret it. Comfort food at it's best.

What a pleasant surprise to find a Jamaican restaurant in Port Charlotte!! And the bigger surprise was how good the food was! Every I had was delicious. I had the oxtails and curry goat, plus the rice and beans of course! I will be back!!

The GOLDEN KRUST IS BY FAR THE BEST CARRIBEAN FOOD SPOT IN PC!! The food is always cooked fresh DAILY and HOT. The staff are very lively and helpful ,they took there time to explain to me what certain meals contains, what spices cause I have a spice allergy .. They let me also sample the meats because I was stuck on the delicious varieties. I commend the owner for remodeling the interior and updated it looks very astounding !! To top my experience off I happen to stroll on by a Friday and they had displayed a lot of different items ranging from OXTAIL MAC, Curry shrimp /curry lobster , AUTHENTIC JERK PORK. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place if you are feeling hungry and want a bite for you buck ! Don’t be afraid to ask for a sample they will hook you up and make certain your purchase is satisfactory !

I love Golden Krust, the food is amazing! The food have a good flavor and is cooked well. Fresh cooked and don’t have to wait long. I don’t mind paying the price for freshly home cook meals. Considering that we live in a town where we have a lot of processed food it’s nice to find a place where the food is real and fresh. My favorite is the oxtails that is meaty and I also love the curry chicken because this is the first Caribbean restaurant that I have been to that don’t serve leg quarters only I was able to get breast because that’s my favorite so I was quite pleased.When I ask the sever for white meat only I was told that they only use whole organic chickens. I don’t mind spending my dimes here at Golden Krust !!!!!!

This Golden Krust is one of my favorite Jamaican Restaurant! I always feel so welcomed by the staff. The customer service is out of this world! And it's every time. The consistency of the food never fails, always good eats. Thank you for showing up for your customers so genuinely all the time.☺️

My nephew flew in from New York yesterday and today he asked if we could have lunch at Golden Kristen. He’d been here two years ago and remembered what a great experience he had. Today was a great day from the moment we got there ! We were offered a “tasting plate “ as an effort to decide on today’s offerings. Needless to say all was delicious. We choose curried goat and braised oxtail. The sides are as delicious as the main course. Warm friendly people who cook with love and pride in their heritage. Real food! Can’t believe I hadn’t discovered this place till now, so incredibly tasty!! Food is most definitely made in house, and just so flavorful!! My new favorite place, and I 100% recommend!!!!!!!! Great service as well! Amazing!!!!!!

Golden Krust is absolutely phenomenal both in its food and its owners/staff! Their oxtail is out of this world, but to be fair the entire menu is a masterpiece. Alongside the welcoming and friendly service, it's literally like eating at home while being away from home, can't wait to go back.

Man, I wanted to love this place but I just can’t give it five stars. I ordered this through grub hub and thought for a second maybe the driver ate part of my meal. I mean, I wouldn’t blame the guy. The food is delicious but for goodness sake can you give me more than one piece of jerk chicken? The patties where good. The ackee and salted fish was good. The jerk chicken was great, but again, one piece of chicken makes not a meal. Even after eating all the rice and beans I was still hungry. Sadly, I feel like my money was stolen and certainly won’t risk take out from here again.

Had a wonderful lunch! The two women that run it are very pleasant and helpful. Tried Jerk pork, stewed chicken, chicken curry, goat and oxtail. All very good. Good portions and a good value! Highly recommend.

This place never disappoints. I’m lucky enough to work right down the road, so I come here at least once a week for lunch. I can’t think of anywhere in town that has better food for a better price. Staff are friendly and helpful, but even if they weren’t, I’d still be a regular. The food is out of this world good. The curry chicken and jerked chicken are my favorites, but I’ve never had anything that didn’t make me start making noises after one bite.

They have the best food ever been gone in a few years so I was surprised very surprised how much the prices have gone up but with Corona And the economy it's really not to blamed them it is delicious and I will always go and get their oxtail and their goat which those are my two favorite meals they are amazing always have smiles on their face and always willing to help you learn how to cook the meat yourself I have learned a lot by going to them and how different ways of cooking the oxtail and their goat

I can be a harsh critic when it comes to my own countries food. That said, if we are in the area we've stopped in here on several occasions and all those times weve thoroughly enjoyed our food!

Always good eating. Food is fresh and plentiful. You taste the love within each dish. From the jerk chicken to the curry goat and gotta get the patties with coco bread.

Such delicious Jamaican food. I highly recommend the chicken stew. It is unbelievable. The people that work there are so friendly and inviting, giving us a little sample plate so we could narrow down our decisions on the food. Just a great place to go for a delicious meal!

Came in for lunch ordered ox tail , rice and plantains and pine apple soda . Everything came out to $23 dollars plus I left a couple dollars for tip ! I enjoyed my meal , place was clean , friendly and attentive staff .
