Great food and a wonderful atmosphere, the staff were friendly and were not pushy or in your face. Overall a great experience. Wonderful location too.

Beautiful, Beautiful Pub with the most scenic surroundings. Thinking about staying here as beer was cheap and staff were very friendly.

The Cow and Calf is a stunning 19th century building with breathtaking views of the surrounding moorland, it's also an ideal place to take shelter if the weather takes a turn for the worse. I've dined there on two occasions and found the food to be OK but on my recent visit I wasn't impressed by the standard of customer service.

Back again in September 2023. Menu has changed again, but think better. Well, more to my preference. The schnitzel was delightful, so was the baked pie. Decent portions that we didn't even have to order starter or desserts as we were full from clearing our plates. I downloaded the vintage inn app and hope to become more of a regular to enjoy the amazing offers such as complimentary drink and pretty much 50% discount on my second or third visit. Service was great and didn't mind me bugging them with the app multiple times so I can enjoy the app offer. Seating was obviously most magnificent with the cow and calf rocks right in front of the pub. return for V Day 2023: something's off, service not as attentive, steak tad chewy, menu choices not as appetizing as what we had months ago. But desserts still good, so is calamari starter. Back again in July 2022, and to redeem my birthday free prosecco. Sat outdoors to enjoy the view. Ordered chef specials of prawn linguine and pork belly. Good portions. Also got calamari and chicken wings starters plus fries as sides. All good, though I miss the sweet potato fries we had last. Spoilt for choices, we went for lamb rack and fish cakes in the end plus extra sweet potato fries side, and brownie and crumble for dessert. Really fresh lamb, great handmade fishcake, brownie with the liquor ice cream is heavenly. Lovely service, good seating. Must join the club or app for extras freebies or discounts or specials.

Go here on a Sunday from time to time and they do a great roast for meat eaters and vegetarians. Their vegetable roast is the best I've had! Dog friendly which is great and the staff are super friendly. Would recommend at any time.

It was nice and quiet at 5pm. The menu was varied, the price was fair and the staff were friendly and also professional. Lovely to finish with coffee in outside seating area and enjoy the fantastic view. We have had our own dog way in the past, but are not keen on the trend now to bring dogs into food areas which was not allowed for hygiene reasons. Now everyone expects it, but we all expected to leave our dogs at home or in the car and no problem.

My friend suggested that we visit here on our way back home after a short break nearby. I have never been before and trusted his recommendation. I am so glad that we visited this gorgeous place. The staff are very welcoming when you arrive and although it was a busy Friday afternoon, they happily found us a table for two. The food is outstanding. I had the King prawn and Mango cocktail. I must admit, I was expecting it to look like any ordinary prawn cocktail starter. However, to my surprise, it came warm and on a cute saucer! To be honest, it was a nice change to have it like that and it soon went :-) The main course I chose was the Country Chicken Sandwich. Now, I dislike Avocado very much but you hardly tasted it in the sandwich and it was sooo yummy, just enough not to make me feel over full. There is one thing to watch out for... the small bundle of mischief called Kerry! She is an amazing waitress and it's clear that she loves what she does. However, she has a brilliant knack of convincing you to order a "large" glass of wine and a dessert - simply because it's Friday afternoon :-) ;-)

Brilliant service. We stayed when away for a wedding at Tithe Barn and this was the perfect place to stay. Great pub with crackling fires and comfy, clean bedrooms. Lovely and very helpful staff - and delicious breakfasts! Highly recommend staying. P.S. get the full cooked breakfast, it’s delicious!

We had a lovely time and the staff were very helpful. Parking great. Atmosphere good. The food is decent pub food but there is always room for improvement! I had the aranchini balls for my starter - 3 would have been perfect! (rather than 2 as they were so small). All in all a good time was had, thank you πŸ™πŸ»

Met a friend for a catch up over dinner. It was my first time up into the top of Ilkley so was impressed with the view! Menu was varied, prices as expected. The food was delicious! Service was very friendly and accommodating. We had two rambunctious kids but it never felt like we were being a nuisance or unwanted which was greatly appreciated. Toilets are a mission to find but well kept all the same.

Arrived on a snowy Sunday afternoon, walked into a wonderful atmospheric bar and restaurant with open fire, bay windows and view of snow covered fields!

Great place with great vibe and great food! We got mushroom and cheese as appetiser and Sunday Trio which was a very excellent Sunday Roast. Everything tasty and compliment each other! Place close to the Ilkley moor so you’ll also have a great scenery.

Stayed here for two nights and the view is insane! Both my rooms where spotless, cosy and comfortable. (Booked another night separately) The food is lovely, it is on the pricey side. Loved my Vanilla iced latte one of the best I have had! Big private spacious Car park.

I have come here for years last time we came for Sunday lunch it was terrible. We came back today and gave it another chance. The waitress remembered us, well it was lovely everything was hot tasty and we had great service. We are so glad we gave it another chance. Thank you

Wonderful setting to meet my cousin for the first time in over 5 decades - must be 55 years! was greeted with a wonderful hug which reminded me so much of my beloved late uncle. We had lunch at the Cow & calf with a window table overlooking the moor and rocks, what a wonderful view, beautiful sunny day obviously helped. the food was lovely, the service very friendly and relaxed pleasant atmosphere. perfect suroundings to catch up. After we went for a short walk over the moors then returned for a coffee and dessert. lovely.

Early dinner with my little boy. Lovely setting, with plenty of space around where we were sitting. Kids menu is really good value. My pie was good although the veg was over cooked.
