One of the best Portuguese restaurants in town. The prawns were so succulent and perfectly served! Even their steak is juicy and tender. Satisfying culinary experience! 🤤 This is the kind of place that I can't get enough of ♡⁠(⁠>⁠ ⁠ਊ⁠ ⁠<⁠)⁠♡

I was not impressed. They might have been good value for money in the past but they most definitely are not anymore. R175 for a full baby chicken. Only starch options as a side. Kids meals are pricey too. I ordered a side salad for my steak as they don't offer it as a side. Definitely not worth R59. My steak was advertised as 750g that is most definitely was not.

Really did not have much to complain about. Drinks were all ice cold (Sangria and black label on tap). We started off with the extra hot chicken giblets which was proper proper stuff (highly recommend). Mains was the surf and turf with ribs, 750g tomahawk (don't think it was 750g but was delicious), and a bacon and cheese burger. Food came very fast to the table and all was very tasty. For dessert we had mozzart cake accompanied with irish coffee and cookies and cream. Was a beautiful end to the evening. Our waitress Esther was very attentive and made sure we were not left wanting and was well informed with regards to the specials. This restaurant will probably be added to my regular visits when in harties, was a wonderful experience and will highly recommend it when in Harties.

My daughter and I, with a 17 month old toddler, stopped for a light lunch at Caravela in Harties. We parked next to a Fidelity security vehicle. One hour later, we left the restaurant, and the Toyota Twin cab had been stolen. It is an extremely high-risk area, and this review is to warn customers of the potential danger. The police confirmed that we were the 4th case of vehicles stolen in Harties. The manager on duty found this particularly funny . The camera footage does not protect patrons from dining there at all. Please be extra careful when choosing to dine at this restaurant.

Service and food iss excellent. It also came very quickly. Atmosphere is fun and vibrant. 👌

The food here is great, as the name suggests you can get Portuguese cuisine. The service is great too, with a small play area for kids as well. Suitable for large groups, with smoking and non-smoking areas.

The food is amazing well I can't say much about the music, a very relaxing place and caters for family outings.

Oyster was to die for 🤤 Crayfish was a bit dry and will give it a 5/10 .Service was good 😊

Medium rare done perfectly. All food good size portions and a large selection to choose from. Inside as well as outside seating available. A separate bar area available as well. Very nice atmosphere. Waiter knew menu quite well, so could make suggestions. Will definitely visit again.

Heard this place was good but never expected the food and service to be this great. We were never unattended by our waitress who maintained the highest quality of service and professionalism. Peri-Peri Chicken was tender to the bone and not a bite waisted. Ribbs were so soft you could eat them with a knife and fork. We will definately call again.

The place does not cope well under pressure. We made a booking but it took extremely long for our food to be served. Overall it is a nice place though.

Food and service were both great - as always. Breastfeeding mom's just need to be prepared as the restaurant does not really have a spot for you to quietly and privately go.

Very expensive! R95 for a mojito. Food was delicious but very small serving for the price. Waiter friendly but not much knowledge of types of alcohol. Lots of play areas for kids but we did not order main meals as starter meals were so small for their price. Lets just say everything is expensive there. I had to change my babies nappy on a chair because there was no indication on where a changing area is. Costs almost R500 for 2 starters 3 drinks and 2 300ml cokes.

Stir fry 10 strips meat.Tasty but not Value for money. Rump surprise okay but please change your meat supplier. Beers are cold.

The food was above average but on a pricey side. Seafood sauce a bit bland with no varieties but overall not so bad. We didn’t want calamari in our platter so they gave us more mussels.

At the price point, expected a bit better quality. The peri peri sauce in a bottle was the highlight for me. Our waitress was also not very good. I understand if she doesn’t eat meat, but couldn’t advise on any of the meat options on the menu?

Amazing food, great atmosphere and lovely waiters. A big thank you to Patricia, our waiter, for being on her game and serving us with a smile and answering our questions about the menu. We will certainly be back.

Food was pretty good but the service was absolutely appalling. We constantly had to go looking for a waiter and ask for things multiple times before they arrived at the table. The restaurant was not busy and there was an abundance of waiters that were nowhere to be found when we needed them. Lastly when we wanted to leave the gate was locked and we had to again go find someone and ask them to open for us...

Great place. We were in a rush and the waitress made sure we got our orders quickly. Great playground for kids too.

We celebrated our twin girls 7th birthday at Caravela and we enjoyed it

Very, very disappointing - Our second visit after not being overly convinced first time around - We wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt - Not authentically Portuguese except for the background music - We felt insulted by being charged R180 for what looked like a starter portion of Calamari - We were not permitted to swap the vegetable side for a Greed salad side - Were then charged an exorbitant R59 for that, and then to add insult to injury it arrived with no feta cheese - Charged extra for chopped chilli which for any truly authentic European continental restaurant is a no-no - We asked for the owner and were told that “he is busy with other restaurant guests and can’t come to us” - The serving staff were completely indifferent to our displeasure - This restaurant does not give justice to what true Portuguese hospitality, ambiance and cuisine stands for.

The food is delicious especially I ordered steak and vanilla ice cream so yuum, also amazing live music playing. Recommend to visit.

Absolutely amazing food and at reasonable prices. Had the snail starter in creamy garlic sauce, oh my word, it's really difficult to find a place that can make snails properly. Tried the Rump steak as well and it was really tender and succulent. Been there for the chicken prego and chips, also amazing. Food is fresh and tasty.
