Wonderful weekend away!! Beautiful horseback riding!! Friendly and experienced staff!!

If you love quiet and seclusion, domestic animals and nature, no crowding, this is the place. You get to breathe uncontaminated fresh air. You can wander off into nowhere and anywhere on your bicycle, on foot, on a horse or quad bike. No worrying about safety. The people tending to the farm are warm, patient and welcoming. And the owners!!! You know when humans justify insensitivity and say "it's business, nothing personal?" Foreign concept to the owners. They are involved, they are empathetic, they are warm, accomodating, the list goes on. I had absolutely nothing to complain about, well except that I wish we had a TV set in our chalet (I hide my face). We have adopted it for our best home away from home - certainly going back. Again and again.

I was completely amazed at the lengths the staff went to just to make our experience as wonderful as possible. We were treated like family from the moment we arrived. Every moment of every activity we did was incredible. They catered to every aspect! My boyfriend has never been on a horse, but was riding like a pro by the time our trail ended. I even went on a second trail myself and the guide made a point of taking me alone when there were no other bookings. We had the most fun galloping and racing through the fields. He showed me how to ride like a cowboy and I showed him how to ride like a dressage rider. The quad bike trail was just as amazing and the guide was so professional! He made sure the first time riders were safe, while still making sure the more experienced riders could have fun. The archery was one of the most unique experiences I've had. David was an excellent teacher! I cannot find the words to express my appreciation to the staff. They could have easily made less effort as the owners were away, but instead they went all out. I would recommend Hollybrooke for everyone. No matter what your preferences are, they will make sure you have the best time possible.

A really lovely place for a pet friendly walk We loved every minute of this hike. We did the 4km trail which takes you along the river with the beautiful mountains as a backdrop. The trail is reasonably flat, shady and easy and will suit a novice hiker or anyone looking for a scenic stroll. The roaring weir was the highlight of the trail for me while the dogs loved all the spots to swim. If you like a longer hike this trail joins the Van Gaalen/Vergenoeg trails which can add a extra 12kms to your hike. This venue felt safe and the trail was really well marked. What sets this venue apart from others is the people managing the place. Ashley was incredibly friendly and helpful and it is evident that they want every guest to leave happy which we definately did. This venue is home to 6 dogs all of which are very special to the owners. An incident involving a guest's aggressive dogs made the owners reconsider their pet friendly policy. Luckily they have decided to allow socialized dogs again. Please do not visit this venue if your dog is at all nervous, unpredictable, aggressive or poses any risk to the dogs, horses and cows that call this property home. Please also respect the owners rules and leash policy which they will communicate with you on the day of your visit. The hike was R50 per person (cash or card) and there is a restaurant on site. I recommend booking beforehand. The list of additional activities is astounding and includes accommodation, ziplines, quad bikes, horse trails, paintball, clay pigeon, archery and go karts. I have also heard that it is really special in Summer when it is Mulberry season, I will definately be back to experience this. Really worth a visit!

Amazing Place! We loved our visit, there's so much to do, horse riding, quad biking, zip lining etc. The food & coffee is great. Owners and management are very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend a visit and will visit again since it's so close to Pretoria.

Amazing outing for young and old with so much activities available

Great staff, helpful tours and rides, good for horse riding, great quad biking track with a beautiful scenery and we pass the river as well, the clay pigeon shooting is marvelous, the instrucor accomponies and supercisors during the whole hour, we use real gun and real bullets, it was a marvelous day to spend at the farm. They even have a restaurant if you need coffee or a quick snack...

Quite place on a gravel road close to Harties. It's a bit hidden away so keep an eye out around the corners when visiting. The venue is nice and clean and big enough for large groups. The menu is a bit overpriced, for both beverages and food. The food is very much "home made", which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The place seems like a family run business and everyone is very friendly.

What a lovely place first time we went 8 years ago and today we went with my family we had the best time ever food so fresh and delicious made by the owner from there organic garden they so friendly. Beautiful place to spend weekend with kids or groups Definitely will be back soon 👍🌸

My family and I had the most awesome time, the best family vacation for this year. I love natural…rustic accommodations and my kids were not impressed until we started doing activities, hiking, quad bikes, horse riding, archery and air riffle target shooting, now I’m a cool mom🤣🤣🤣 best shot left for this year, we will definitely go back to do the rest of the activities. Enjoyed the conversations, no tv, the scenery👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾, the food👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾😋😋😋 gourmet burgers 🤤😋the best customer service ever🥰 Thank you for hosting us.

Nice gentle pet friendly hike. You can have breakfast at the restaurant. I believe the hike is R 50 per person. Has a river for fishing as well.

It was so nice! Beautiful scenery, patient and friendly hosts and employees. We went there for horsw riding & quad biking. The instructors were so friendly and with you every step of the way! And their babies(dogs) are so friendly as well.

Excellent, tourist and local sho't left spot or families and groups of friends. Visited boxing day 2022 with four teenagers and a toddler in tow, and our very diverse group of 8 were warmly received. Rides. We had fabulous Quad bike rides with attentive, knowledgeable and ultra helpful guides, in the beautiful mountain landscape, on new and well serviced bikes. No stalling or smoking engines.... Food. The home made pizzas, burgers and sauces had us hooked along with the delicious milkshakes. Accommodation. We will try the rustic chalets next time and stay over. Safe, secure, spotless facilities and special attention for each and every member of our group. 5 star farm experience within an hour of Jhb and Pretoria. Lots more to do during our next visit including hikes and fishing, making time for nature, clay pigeon shooting, target practice or horse riding. Definitely adding Hollybrooke to our visitors' itineraries as well.

Very nice and peaceful, good place to get away from everything. Good hiking trail. Some updating is needed in terms of decor and modernization and new mattresses but other than that very nice

Tell all your friends about this place! Affordable, fun for the whole family. We went quad biking- excellent guide. The trail is beginner friendly. Horse rides, ziplining, and a great little cafe.

The 8km trail is easy, some less fit might find the slight incline to the Greek church a tad of a challenge , routes are poorly marked as some of the trail direction boards have been removed/ or broken. Bit of a disappointment if one considers you have to pay.
