A great place to socialize your dogs. The park seems very popular for off the leash walking and cycling. The park is vast and pretty. Free entrance leads to some dodgy characters visiting the park so for you own safety I would suggest you don't visit this one alone. A beautiful waterfall provides a great photo opportunity. The park also boasts with a lovely, shady kiddies play area, a nursery and a dog friendly restaurant.

Our northern suburb parks are generally well maintained with light security, play grounds for small children and acres to explore with your furry friends. Parking is plentiful and the trails for walking or running are functional, even with the recent heavy rains. One of my favourite Parkruns for sure. If you're a keen trail cyclist then there are seperate bike trails as well.

A well maintained, pet friendly park. The park itself looks well maintained, no trash in it, paths are clear, and grass is cut. No doubt thanks to the community who assist COJ there. The Braamfontein stream itself needs to some cleaning itself and the homeless people living along side the stream need to be evicted and housed properly. Otherwise, a fantastic park which links up the Braamfontein stream reserve. You can extend your walk further by walking along the Braamfontein stream too Afterwards, you can get a nice cup of coffee afterwards at Delta Café which is also pet friendly

Dry and dusty in winter, a wash with cosmos in the summer/autumn (visited in March). Large open spaces with multiple entrances and parking lots. Quite the incline and many a pet on the loose. Swings for all ages and rump sizes.

Delta Park is a real Jen in the heart of Johannesburg. It’s a lovely open space where you can walk, run or cycle and enjoy the openness. The views of Sandton from the top side of the park are spectacular, especially in the early morning when the sun rises. In April, the cosmos field on the north east corner are well worth a visit.

I had the most incredible experience at the Delta Park 5km Parkrun, and I can't wait to share my enthusiasm with everyone! As the first Parkrun I ever supported, I drove all the way from Alberton for years, and let me tell you, it was worth every kilometer. The Delta Park 5km Parkrun is a race that perfectly blends challenge and natural beauty. The course takes you on a journey through a stunning landscape of towering trees, and you'll find yourself crossing quaint little bridges that add to the charm of the run. One thing that sets this event apart is the fantastic team of volunteers who make it all possible. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to them because, without their dedication, there would be no event at all. It's a true testament to the power of community and the love for running. A huge shoutout goes to Discovery Vitality for sponsoring Parkruns like this across the country. Their support ensures that these wonderful events remain accessible and free for all, and for Bruce Fordyce and his family for starting Parkrun in South Africa. Now, let's talk about the route. The 5km course offers a variety of terrains to keep things interesting. It starts fast and flat, giving you a chance to find your rhythm. Then, you'll experience an exhilarating downhill sprint, followed by a challenging climb that takes you to the halfway point. But don't worry, it flattens out towards the end, allowing you to finish strong with a sprint. On average, you'll find around 780 runners at the Delta Park 5km Parkrun, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. The event takes place every Saturday at 8am, so it's the perfect way to kick off your weekend. In summary, the Delta Park 5km Parkrun is a hidden gem for running enthusiasts. The combination of natural beauty, a welcoming community of runners, and the support of volunteers and sponsors make it a must visit event. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting your journey, this Parkrun has something special to offer. Plus, the fact that it's free to enter is the icing on the cake. Don't miss the chance to experience this fantastic event for yourself! Kind regards, Shaun.

Great place to go for a de-stressing walk in Joburg. Very safe especially sticking to the higher lying areas. Dog poo is not too much of an issue. A good place to take your mask off and get some kind of fresh air.

Big park, there is a nice bicycle track on the far north, nice streams for the kids viewing amazing small jungle gym park for the toddlers up to 9 years old, neat and not noisy at all. Need to spend a day in nature?? this is the place to relax for a nice family outing in the outdoors.

Five stars for this inner city park! It's like a dog paradise in the middle of the concrete jungle. My pup gives it two paws up for the endless sniffing opportunities and the chance to make new furry friends. Plus, the humans aren't too bad either. Great place to relax and watch the chaos of city life while your four-legged friend has the time of their life.

The lovely green landscapes, trails, and thoughtful children friendly facilities offer a delightful experience for dog enthusiasts, cyclists, and those seeking a tranquil hiking trail.🌻😊 A standout feature was the nearby Delta Cafe,a charming haven that perfectly complements the park's beauty. I wholeheartedly suggest this idyllic spot for anyone in search of a relaxing escape in nature.

This is a beautiful nature haven right in between the hustle and bustle of suburban Randburg. You will never say you are in the middle of a large city. Plenty of space to walk your dog (off leash, as long as it's sociable and well behaved). Some cyclists around on cycle paths (partly shared with pedestrians). The park is large (a few city blocks) and very well maintained by a passionate and active volunteer group. Lots of lovely old trees and wide open spaces.

Lovely place to go for a walk. Neat and clean. A lot of other people walking their dogs, cyclist and even a few riding their horses. Most of our fellow walkers are friendly and considered. Be careful not to walk in the cycling path for they go very fast. My only issue is that some of the dogs are not on leash and attacks other dogs and the horses. Overall it is a lovely place. The little coffee shop is cute and very busy. Food & drinks are nice. Car guards in parking areas. There are security patrols with dogs doing rounds. Always be aware of your surroundings for some robberies did occure. Be safe and walk in groups.

Delta Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Johannesburg it's so vast with more than 100 hectares of grassland and woodland. The park has features from jungle gyms, walking and cycling trails and also a Bird Sanctuary and a couple of streams within.

Lovely park that is perfect for any activity. A great park for dogs to escape the boredom of yards with lots of space to explore. Fantastic spot for family outings and picnics. It's the perfect space for those looking for some exercise in nature. It's also a gorgeous setting for photography. The mulberries in spring are delicious and the Kosmos in summer are gorgeous to walk through.

The best park around Randburg area! So clean and well maintained - the best time to visit has got to be the cosmos season though - it’s so beautiful! Also well done to the community who run and look after the park - such a fantastic team of people!

Fantastic Park! Huge trees, beautiful dams, loads of green, natural space, and fairly well maintained. Lots of Cosmos Flowering all over during March/April. Great for hiking, biking, walking, walking dogs, picnicking and there is a huge playground for babies and bigger kids. As a lady going there by myself, I find it to be very safe during the day for me and my baby. Loads of athletes and walkers and doggies around a lot of the time. Lots of parking at the Standard Drive entrance. There are car guards most of the day, but not too safe. Plenty of safer parking on the Victory Park side.

Finally got to see the beautiful Cosmos at Delta park. It’s the season they are out in full bloom. You can have an amazing long walk. We were on the one side of the park so we didn’t get to see everything. There are bike trails with jumps, just keep a look out as they coming around fast. Some dogs are not on the leash. It was our first time there so was was a great Easter Sunday walking our dog who was on a leash.

On our doorstep is the most amazing park, the residents do a huge amount of upkeep to keep it beautiful. Please bring along packets to collect your dog poop as there are too many dog walkers who don't do this and it becomes a bit of a minefield! As with any park in SA always be aware of your surroundings and keep to the busier spots if you're on your own.

At the children's playground, there is a sign that says no dogs allowed. Despite this, people bring their dogs around the children's play area. Although the dogs aren't generally a problem, their owners do not clean up the dogs poop. So the children step in it. There are demarcated areas for dog owners to take their dogs but they insist on bringing their dogs into the children's play area

This was our first time being here and there's so much space. This is, as far as I am aware, an on-leash park. There's a giant playground for kids and a beautiful walking trail. Will definitely have to come back to explore the rest of the park.

Love Delta Park. There were horses and riders. Cyclists, walkers with dogs. Beautiful bird hideout with birdlife. Unfortunately, with the current lockdown there are a few homeless people sleeping in the park and incidents of walkers being attacked... So be cautious and go in groups with no camera's and cell phone etc.

A beautiful, well kept park. There's lots of trees to picnic under and a huge jungle gym the kids can enjoy. It's advisable to visit during the day only when other families are present as there was no security besides the car guards. Overall it's a great place to spend the day with family or a partner and the best part is it's free.

  • 4/5 Annie C. 3 years ago on Google
It is a lovely park with good jungle jim area for kids. There's different sizes of obstacles for different ages. There's a secured car park inside the area. There's a area where they do outdoor theater but I haven't seen it due to Covid. I'm also only giving a 4-star because I haven't walk the entire park and there is no visible walking path like the other park I know so I feel very insecure to venture on my own and child.

Great park for birding especially during the week when it is not so busy. It is apparently the oldest existing bird sanctuary in Johannesburg has a bird list of over 250 bird species including a number of extremely unusual birds for the area. The current highlight is a breeding pair of Spotted Eagle-Owl.

What a lovely large park right in the heart of the Johannesburg suburbs! With a perimeter of approximately 6kms - you can spend a good time walking and appreciating the beauty of the Park which also has a number of small dams. The Park also hosts the popular Park Run on Saturdays! One of the largest Park run events in the World. The park was closed due to the Covid pandemic, so be sure to enquire before heading out!

Absolutely love this park - it's a fantastic dog park where you can take your dogs to qnd let them off the lead to just run around and be dogs!! It is incredibly well maintained and looked after. There are private people who plant trees and even come back to water and look after them. There is an amazing dam that you can walk all around and even go sit down and have a lovely picnic

Great for walks, needs some grass cutting though, some of the paths have disappeared. Dog friendly, although there are some people who believe they own the park and let their non-friendly dogs off of their leashes instead of showing some respect for other, so show some care here. But other than that it's great, with some great spots for picnics.
