Quite a surprising restaurant that provides weight to the adage that you can’t tell a book by the cover. My wife and I were traveling between Bordeaux and Sarlat and needed a break when we came across Le Tire Bouchon. There was a large parking lot on the right of the road which allowed me to slow down quickly and pull in. Several guys were sitting nursing beers and smoking Gitanes outside. The owner brought out a menu written on a 3x5 inch spiral notebook. With our poor French and his limited English we settled on fish and chips. It was the best fish and chips we have ever had. Lightly battered and perfectly cooked. An excellent restaurant!!!

My wife and I were passing and felt hungry so we stopped and had lunch here. We were greeted by a very friendly guy who made us feel very welcome. The food we had was excellent. I had fish and chips, my wife a burger with foie gras and bacon and cheese, the food was great!. Overall a great experience, we will definitely be back 😊

Tres bon!!! What a gem of a find. The burger was fabulous - all homemade. Frites were superb!!! Merci!
