A nice park, great for nature lovers. Easy access with ample parking space and clean toilets near the entrance (RM0.30 entrance fees). We took a slow hike more to take pictures of the wildlife and was not disappointed. While taking pictures at the biggest tree in the park, a Paradise Flying Snake drops down from the canopy and quickly slither up the huge tree again. Also saw Lizards and Geckos around the huge tree, including a Giant Millipede. Trails are clear and manageable although there seems to be many side trails, that can be confusing. Lots of macques too and visitors should avoid offering them food. It is a place not just for hiking but more for nature lovers!

Managed to do the hiking before the park closed down for visitors in next coming 2 years. 574m height. The condition of the road and multiple landslides must be well maintain and protected. Hopefully after the repair and upgrade, the park will be better after that

Well kept forest reserve and could possibly be one the best Nature park in the State, second to the Penang National Reserve Park in Teluk Bahang. You can find the biggest tree in the State here.

Just went yesterday and the main trail is CLOSED till end of the year(some said July). Can still hike up using side trails, which can be confusing. Do go there early if you want to try those side trails and follow experienced hikers. I followed 2 hikers to climb up one of the viewpoints. It took around 30mins.

Wonderful place to get near the nature. A few hiking route and park route. I love the route along the stream. That is the nicest hiking route I had so far. A bit sad that the land slides happened at the tar road route, which causes the route a lot of stones and sands due to maintenance processes. Hope the maintenance help to prevent it happen again.

Hiking location with my mum. Plenty of route to explore. A lot of people hiking. There are a few scenery platform good for picture, time lapse and probably hyperlapse. Still need to explore once inter district travel is allow.

Looking for thousand years tree, mengkuang dam, and also challenging hike path? This is the place. There is an easy path by just follow the tar road, another path is so called jungle path which is way more challenging, basically 3.5 stars difficulty as it is a knee breaker hike

It's a nice place and there are trails and tar roads available (closed for renovation). Definitely gonna go back to try out different routes, to get a different view of the ecosystem there. The downside is there are too many trails here and can get lost easily, which I did and ended up finishing all my supplies. Luckily my phone line is still available so I can find my location using Google Maps and call for help. So if you're a first timer, it's better to follow the locals or if you wanna explore on your own, make sure to go up and down the same exact way. Or else you might end up at Hutan Simpan Mengkuang or Hutan Simpan Seraya, which are interconnected but its the other side entirely. [Big Tree, Tasik Mengkuang, trails leading to Hutan Simpan Seraya, aka lost]

THIS PLACE IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Waste time go until there just to find the place has been closed for months.even check the online for the operating hours yet i ended up infront of the closed door.

A nice place for jungle trekking,.. there are many trails to reach to the peak,... for those who love the nature, it's a place that you can't miss in Bukit Mertajam. You will feel rejuvenate feeling the scents of woods and fresh air, listen to the nature's orchestra from the combination of birds singing and insects chirping, ... feel relieve after all

Lots of live streams and mini waterfalls on hike and multiple trail for choices with old dams and huge 500++ years old tree😀, some of the trails can be challenging to some and needs some preparation beforehand for adequate supply of snack and water as some of the trails crosses 4 hours minimum hike time and can go up to 9 hours of hike time, but there are short trails there as well, highly recommended to standby one of those anti shock hiking stick/pole for safer and easier hiking experience, the air and surrounding here is cool and fresh and it's definitely worth every second the time spent here

Best excursion next to an urbanised centre.Your very lucky to live close to Bukit Mertajam.

It's a water catchment and retention serving water supply to Provice Wellesley or Seberang Prai. It has some of the very big trees of buttresses over 2 metres. One is safe to hike because the whole hill and reserve because the outer rim is a road leading to city. Besides, one can see the new majestic dam and the defunct old dam. The hill serves as a recreational facility besides the main function as water supply dam.

Have 3 trails that I know here. From bottom to top the distance is around 4km. You can cross the trails to make the distance longer. It's suitable to fulfill your leisure weekend time because the trail is not too long and too short. Recommend to make it as your weekend routine.

Nice hike. U can choose the main tarred road or the jungle trail. I prefer the jungle trail because it is not so steep and have more rest points. Morever, u can stop at the giant tree location to enjoy the nature there. My advice, u dont have to come so early because it will be very crowded and no parking space. The best time to come is ard 9 - 10 am where most of the crowds start to leave. More over, u need not to worry about the hot sun because there is many tree shades inside.
