The fries are actually very crispy and tasty. The caveats: - We went on a weekday afternoon and the wait was <5 minutes. However, the lines could be very, very long during the weekends and with the wait, the fries will probably not be worth it - With no seating area, you may be a nuisance to nearby shops and residents if you choose a wrong place to eat your fries. Please, please please behave and be considerate to businesses and residents around the area and also dispose of garbage properly!

Really nice fries. Came here after local friends told me these were some of the best in Amsterdam and they were actually really good. You choose the size and can add 2 of the different sauces they offer as well as a cheese topping (I suggest cheddar). Worth a quick stop if you are walking around.

Wow, that’s awesome experience! Many people in the queue, so be prepared to wait a bit. Fries, a lot of fries. Many sauces, toppings and cheeses: Parmesan or Cheddar. Very tasty, medium size rather large that we expected and it is totally fine for one hungry person. You will be asked for the first name and you should wait an order outside. Be careful eating it around the place on the water channels — there are a lot of hungry birds that will hunt for your fries!

These are hands down the best fries I’ve ever had in my life. The fries are freshly cut and fried, and there is a large choice of toppings to choose from. The fries are simply incomparable to any other fries I had in Amsterdam - definitely a must try (and it’ll be more than once probably)

Absolutely amazing. Most beautiful fries i have ever had, sauce was absolutely tremendous! Very worth it for the price, paid €18 for 2 fries with cheese and sauce, and two croquettes! Quick service and nice staff. Only thing that i would say is that on a busy hot day there really isn't anywhere to sit and had to sit on the floor near the bridge, just be mindful that it is also a busy street with cyclists too!

Definitely a must-visit. Great tasting fries, perfectly cooked and spiced. Great and efficient service. The time from ordering to receiving your food is superbly quick. A total of 2 minutes maybe. All fries are fresh and crispy and not a single one is not perfectly cooked. But the star of the show is definitely the sauces, specifically their normal mayonnaise, it is really amazing. Their spicy mayo is also quite good, but does not match the standard mayo. The atmosphere is not really anything to talk about. You could find yourself in a long line or a short line, depending on time of the day. However, there are no places to sit at the restaurant or nearby. However if you are willing to sit on the floor you can sit along the edges of the canal. (You might have to deal with the horrid smells coming from the canal though.) I would definitely recommend giving them a visit though, it's 100% worth your time, the fries live up to their hype and they really hit the spot.

One of the best fries in this part of town. But have them when it’s still fresh from the fryer. Toppings and sauces are generously piled on the top. There’s just 2 tables outside the store and a small counter where you can stand and eat inside. Not as messy to eat as expected.

Cute steet shop which sells waffles. You get a plate of medium fries for 3.25 and then you add your choice of toppings and one/two sauces. I tried the fries with peanut sauce and cheddar cheese which were warm, crisp and nice. Though the hype created around them is a bit much they are worth a try one time. They also have cheese croquette which was nice, cheesy and had a crispy top. Didn't disappoint. Though it's expensive.. at about 3.5 euros a piece! No place to sit and eat, you have to wolf down the fries before they go cold. Lovely crew which calls your name in the most fun way! Cheers to their spirit!

Best fries I've ever had, hands down. Albeit the second time it wasn't as nice, maybe when it's fresh it's perfection but when it's been chilling for a while. Maybe not, they're triple cooked so that's where the taste comes from. The grease! They didn't have friet sauce but luckily I still had a McDonald's one in my bag.

Good chips and portion size is good. Prepare to wait for a queue at busy times. We got the Parmesan chips with truffle Mayo which was good but was nothing special really. Good place to get some fries but I’m sure other places are similar.

Highly rec to go at around 6pm++ where there’s no long queue. Ordered and received our fresh and warm fries in 5 mins. Staff and security were all so lovely and friendly. Food was delicious and really nice to have in this chilly weather. Good fries with generous topping of sauces, cheese and onions!

Must try in Amsterdam. The French fries are crispy, salty, generous. The sauce is maybe too generous (there is a lot of sauce). I recommend the truffle Mayo for gourmets, and spicy Mayo for the ones who loves spicy food. Don’t be afraid of the queue, it’s very fast (maybe a little bit stressful but everyone is nice tho !) The only disadvantage is that there is no where to seat. You can’t eat in downstairs the houses. There is no benchs.

Lovely service from cooks to security. Food was very fresh. Queue moves quickly as they have a super efficient process. I thought the chips were lovely unfortunately they only do one size. I wasn’t a fan of the croquette I ordered but chips lush.

Lovely fries, we got Parmesan and truffle mayo topping. £10.29 for two portions, be prepared to get there early as people queue for upwards of an hour for these fries! Simply divine.

We loved our Fries from this little stall. Though there was a cue, they handled it quite well and within 5-10 min we received our fresh and hot fries. They are very tasty and crispy! Also the sauces tastes very nice. Definitely a must try! I tried the fries with truffle mayonnaise!

Very popular 'chip' shop in Amsterdam. I saw many locals walking down the street away from this shop with a carton of their chips with grilled cheese and mayonnaise. The chips were just great. Payment can be cash or card. There was a short queue outside the shop (it is popular) but not excessively so. Wooden forks are provided.

We tried the most hyped fries at Fabel Friet in Amsterdam! 🌟 Truffle mayo and piccalilly mayo took our taste buds on a journey. 🤤 Crispy, perfectly seasoned fries - addictive! 😍 if you love pickles the piccalilly is for you, don’t forget to add Parmesan cheese on top for the ultimate experience. Only downside: no dine-in, just take away. But worth every bite! 🙌

Favorite fries in the city - great quality potatoes very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Definitely take truffle mayo with parmesan as a first. The hype is for a good reason.

The queue is long, but the wait time isn’t too bad. We probably spent 10 minutes in line and waiting for our food total. The service is great. Everyone was upbeat, welcoming, and friendly. The prices are reasonable. We ordered fries with parmesan and truffle mayo (their most popular combination) and a veal croquette. Both were delicious and a great bite to eat. There is no seating available and some of the other stores do not like customers eating in front of their windows. Many people were standing in the road and eating their fries near the store.

Best and most affordable snack in Amsterdam! CRISPY ON THE OUTSIDE, SOFT ON THE INSIDE! This unique snack is a must try in Amsterdam! We were there for 5 days and went to get fries on our last two days because they were just way too good. The price is very reasonable, you are presented with a simple yet wide selection of sauces, toppings and sides. The workers were fast, coordinated and fast. Everything I'm looking for in getting a quick yet delicious snack. And DEFINITELY order the fries with TRUFFEL MAYO!!!

It’s one of the best street snacks I have had in all my trips. Totally recommend it after a long walk through the channels. There is always a long queue, but it is super organized and you move pretty fast. The guys there are the best!

I couldn’t believe the hype around these fries every time I walked by. Today I finally tried them. There’s something about their taste that takes your fries-eating experience to another level. Definitely your above-average fries to go (not worth waiting an hour for them if you’re a tourist).

It’s a walk up storefront, no seating available. The fries here were absolutely incredible! The workers at the counter were very nice. I would rate these fries 10/10, must go!

The best fries I have ever had. They are the perfect level of crunchy and soft and their spicy mayo sauce is to die for. The queue seems long but it moves quick and it’s all worth it.

After trying the most popular fries places in Amsterdam, it's fair to say that Fabel Friet had the best of the best! Unbelievably crispy, so tasty and with the addition of truffle mayo and parmesan - absolute perfection! We ordered a large between us and when we finished them, turned right back around and ordered another. So good! We also tried their cheese and shrimp croquettes (first time for us). While we weren't fans of these, I don't think it was their quality that let us down - I think it was more of the fact that we just weren't fans of croquettes to begin with. Flavors good, but texture just wasn't our cup of tea. Service was impeccable - really positive and efficient. Would return every day if we could!!

Fresh! Crispy! Flavorful! Must stop here for good Friets!! We ordered the most popular combination- Truffle Mayo with Parmesan and I’m glad we did! We absolutely loved them! They weren’t fried too crispy- just perfectly crisp with a tender center! The truffle Mayo is not too strong- just the right zing to go with the fries and Parmesan! Small size is €5

Large queue but it moves very quickly, I’d say we waited 10-15 mins. I got the fries with vegan mayo (€4.90) and they were very yummy. Ultimately they are just fries, but if you’re happy to queue for a bit then it is worth it as they are really good crispy ones.
