One of the larger castle complexes on the Alb, even if only parts of the residential tower and the surrounding wall can still be seen, these remains are very extensive and extensive. The caves below the residential tower are just as nice - adventure tour for children! Nice view and seating in the residential tower above, with a small barbecue area just below. A perfect destination!

Holstein castle ruins, built by von Hölnstein, then partially sold and owned by Heinrich von Killer, called Affenschmalz, later owned by Nikolaus von Zollern, who had the tower demolished. Today owned by the municipality. All that remains of the complex is the curtain wall and the remains of the building wall. Everything is falling apart and some of it has been unsightly renovated using today's resources. Unfortunately everything is overgrowing. There are also remains of the ditch, and the vaulted cellar is accessible again. In the castle complex there is the castle courtyard and a rock head as well as lots of rubble. The caves below the castle used to have access from the castle, but are now closed off. It is not clear to what extent these were integrated into the system. Today's access is via the moat or from the path to the castle, up to the left. From the parking lot it is not signposted, first walk towards the field, then right at the edge of the forest, then left uphill, turn right all the way up the forest path, this way you will pass the caves and then you can already see the ruins on the mountain to the left circles this along the mountain.

A very beautiful hiking trail and a place for people who want to immerse themselves in history in peace. A nice place to stay. You should bring food and drink with you if you want to have a picnic in the countryside. Highly recommended.

A castle ruin that is not that easy to reach. A bit neglected and remote, there is still a lot to be seen from the once large castle complex. It's definitely worth coming here several times.

How are you supposed to rate nature with stars, just go there, you can park at the hiking car park and then you'll be at the Holstein castle ruins within 15 - 20 minutes. After which the village of Stetten below the ruins also received its addition. Stetten and H Depending on your mood and stamina, you can then continue hiking along a designated path through several nearby castle ruins.

Beautiful ruins with lots of wall remains. The hike here is recommended with children. The explanations about the castle itself are available.

Beautiful and quiet place, great for short hikes, even with children. There is a barbecue area and really a little adventure for children. You shouldn't forget the small caves below the ruins either.

Beautiful large ruin with many preserved wall remains. A bit overgrown inside. There is an information board with a floor plan and a viewing platform. There is also a barbecue area. It is worth it ..

This Castle ruin is easy to find.. Plenty of room. And a good view over the valley below. The Caves under the walls are OK for Children to look around. Only one needs a little help to get into. ( Ladder).--
