Jumping ahead, I can say that it was a very disappointing experience. The place itself is pretty big, has a pool table and live music, but seen its better days, which is fine with me. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, no complaints here. The drinks were fine as well. Food, however, was upsetting. Pork bites were okay, and I'd say fries that came with it probably was the best food we ate here. For me, beer and wings are what defines how good a pub is, so I always go for that combo when visiting for the first time. I really like chicken wings, and I think it was the first time that I haven't finished that dish. Despite being decent in size, wings were absolutely dry. But the seared wild salmon salad was a disaster. Not mentioning dry salmon, the first bite of greens came with a gritty feeling on the teeth. A quick inspection revealed that greens were poorly washed and still had remains of soil. Photo proof is attached. I expect that they at least wash lettuce for a $17 salad.Another thing that I found odd and rather repulsive is that on the patio next to where we were seated, they have a whole bunch of tables turned upside down, and they are covered with a chewing gum awful people once put there. The photo is attached. Why wouldn't you clean it up when putting these tables next to where people eat? I guess it remains a mystery. I can see people come here for drinks, but there's no way I can recommend anyone to go here for the food.

Great value breakfast! I have only been here for breakfast, and shortly after opening, but it was excellent. Eggs Benny for a great price and it wasn't too loud to converse with others at the table.

We been here many times. Wonderful staff and great food. We both had the daily special , Philly Cheese steak sandwich. Excellent !!

Great pub food. I love their breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, cheese pasta, fish tacos, fish and chips, soup and house salad. They make really good onion rings, fries and yam fries too.

5 stars because this is my kinda pub. Karaoke nights, happy hour specials, pool table, patio. The gravy that was on the poutine was the best gravy I've tasted in a while and the service is always great! I travel from the West End to visit this pub and it's always worth it.

Stopped in this past Saturday for wings and drinks. The wings were good but service was really slow and it did not appear anyone including staff and patrons were observing any of the COVID rules, which is extremely concerning. Right from entering, there was no staff member to great us for seating and take our contact information for contact tracing, it was just sit where you want. None of the staff were wearing any masks and customers where all walking around, including up to the bar for service and to other tables to chat. It also turned out it was karaoke night, with some singers walking around while singing. I was shocked since health officers are saying no singing during COVID. I won't be back until the establishment takes COVID precautions seriously.

Great special on wings on Wednesday’s. They were delicious, saucy and crispy. They do it right! Venue is big, there was only 1 server when I went with my group but I assume it’s because of COVID? In any case, she was friendly and pretty quick considering she was by herself. Will be back for sure

We have been to many pubs on our journeys and this one has fantastic food! Lots of flavor and fast service! Definitely will be back.

Surprisingly good place for an evening. Karaoke night on weekends so if your not into it, it can be a bit loud. But there is a person setting up and livening up the place. Food was decent, although my friend's steak was too rare (twice). But they took it off the bill. That was a pleasant surprise. Service was prompt and attentive. There was a security person at door checking and scanning vaccine passport that made the place feel safer. Definitely got busy, so that was a good thing.

Good atmosphere pub with great staff. The place is good for relaxing with friends but the food isn't the best. I get musty and chill vibes. I got the text Mex chicken salad and it was good not great.

They have KENO A pool table I saw no children, so it must be a real pub. Stopped in recently after not having been here for years. Service was great, prompt and energetic, no shy violets here. Classic caesar? okey dokey Fries for days Pork bites meh - wouldn't order again, but they were edible. Poutine gravy was good, cheese could be one upped. Cozy fireplace that I covet.

Ordered here a bunch of times through Uber eats and the food is awesome! Probably the best place we've ordered from. Best beef dip by a long shot in the coquitlam-Burnaby area that we've found. Burgers are great too. This place has become our go to for take out/delivery.

Went to this place for the first time ever yesterday and I have to say it's a very nice place. Nice open spaces and plenty of bar seating. The server behind the bar that day was very friendly and made sure to check on my beer levels to make sure I wasn't being ignored. The one thing I had that people need to try is the grizzly breakfast. It's two eggs any style with ham, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns and toast for 14 bucks. That is such a good amount of food as well as a good price on a great breakfast. Will definitely be going back there soon and will have pictures of the food next time as.i ate the breakfast really fast.

Stopped in for a couple beers and some wings with a buddy. Service was on point, bartenders let us know about happy hour and made sure we got our drink orders in before we missed the boat. Wings were AMAZING. Super nice decor, pool tables, darts, keno.. This place beats the hell out of any of the chain restaurants nearby. Definitely recommend stopping in here for a pint!

We order from GBP a lot and have never been disappointed. In fact I order the Steak for lunch often and they always cook it to my liking with a side of gravy. Today however, I ordered a rare steak and they sent it to me well done :( No gravy either. I have attached a picture. We thought to call the restaurant to let them know, but figured they must be busy and will let it slide. I hope it doesn't happen again!

Very quiet. We enjoyed the special, grilled tomato sandwich with a butter chicken soup for $8 - it was perfect. I love this pub, it's nothing fancy but it's comfortable, good service and decent food.

A neighborhood pub with great food and drinks at reasonable prices. From the many screens, pool table, darts, fantasy pools, and events. Easy access parking and a patio. I recommend if you are in the Burnaby area to check it out.

I've been going here since 2007, when it was still Delaney's. The chicken wings are superb. They're big, breaded, and well sized. The smokehouse wings are a great mix of hot and BBQ, and the teriyaki sauce is something you can't find anywhere else. The Philly cheese steak on Thursdays is also excellent.

It's our go place for happy hour food like chicken wings, tacos and sliders.

Clubhouse sandwich was not good at all turkey was so dry and barely any sauce. Our server didn't even come by to do a quality check. I wouldn't even bother coming back. Very disappointing. Only good thing was the yam fries.

stage fright is one of the fears we need to face. during Sundays, the dj lets you pick a song and sing your heart out on the center stage. the crowd is very supportive and you will enjoy it. No kids.

Standard pub experience; I wasn't expecting the food to be great and it wasn't, the beef in the Beef Dip was chewy and full of peppers. The fries were thick cut with a fluffy interior was nice but I wasn't fond of the flavours. Butter chicken was flavourful, but it was gritty and the naan was really lacking. There's a lot of activities here, like darts, billiards, and karaoke, and that was great.

Best fish n’ chips in Vancouver. I’ve had nearly every dish on the menu, and none of them have disappointed (save maybe for the pork bites). Comfy and quiet, with extremely fair prices.

Quick friendly service. The freshest ingredients in all the dishes and some great touches in their own version of regular recipes. Thick tomato basil soup drizzled with olive oil,fries that are soft inside but crunchy outside,baron of beef has as much beef as you usually get with a beef dinner and comes with mushrooms & onions sauted to perfection. Also 17 beers to choose from. Definitely a favorite local pub!

Great place! It's the happy place for my and my partner. The bartender gentleman is very friendly and efficient. They have snooker, dart game and $1 scratcher that people could purchase from the machine. The lottery themed tv screen and lottery vending machine is fun! A great variety of beer people can choose and each one we tried is amazing.Even the customers there are friendly, had some small chat with couple people in line waiting to buy the beers. Everything is fun.

Good price for tap beer. Big room, decent atmosphere and they have pool! I've never played darts but they have that there as well. Will be going again. Friendly staff as well.

AAA steak dinner is good. Meat is well seasoned and juicy but sometimes fatty. Fries are great. Clubhouse sandwich on marble rye is pretty good for a fair price nowadays. Music is enough to make you leave

This was one of my favorite places to order from, I don't know what they are doing over there but what used to be the best beef dip is now just sad and gross. They gave us less then half the meat they usually do. The bun is soft and basically already soggy and the entire thing is just sad to eat. They get extra one star simply because they haven't changed their fries and at least I can treat something off my plate. Will not be ordering again. Sad for it.

Before heading downtown for the Elton John concert we stopped in here to have a bit to eat. What a fun place. A classic pub with pool and darts and great atmosphere. Service was excellent and the food was perfect. We had some of the happy hour specials: spinach dip, fries and the Ruben Sliders. For dinner Wonton Soup, Butter Chicken and the Chicken Penne. Everyone was happy. Price was also very reasonable. I would pick this place over a chain restaurant in a heartbeat. Thanks for a great start to a memorable evening.

First time doing karaoke at Great Bear, and I had an absolute blast. The atmosphere was great, the DJ Ryan did an AMAZING job running things, and they had all the songs I wanted to sing. Honestly the best karaoke experience I have had in years, so I will definitely be coming back again

Came to watch a playoff game. Called twice before to know if we could have the sound on, "no problem". Showed up and screen quality was horrendous, took a full period to get the sound on, sound was painfully bad. Cherry on top, they had karaoke lined up for way before the end of the game, no one cared to mention that before I asked what the set up was for. Left before ordering food. Drink selection was lacking. I guess they were nice enough, just incompetent and inefficient. Will not go back.

This place is amazing! The food and beverages are really good and the prices are accessible. The vibe is really “old school” pub which I enjoyed a lot. They have several things to do such as playing pool, darts or even singing with a juke box! This a great place to have a wonderful time with your friends or family!

I've been here once before to watch the Euro a couple years back but stopped by again recently for a dragon boat fund-raiser. We got pre-purchased tickets for a burger and beer. Their burger patty is great but I personally have a hard time enjoying a plain burger with just lettuce and tomato (should have asked for bacon and cheese!). We did end up getting some wings and nachos as well and those came out not bad. It's a local watering hole with a different theme for each day of the week. Stop by on Sunday for karaoke night!

We’ve ordered from here a bunch over the course of the pandemic... their food is always a win! Super tasty and fresh. The garlic Rosemary aioli is A+ ! Great pub food, 5/5 on that aspect. The reason for the low rating... TERRIBLE service. Holy cow. Our server was dining with friends (???) when we came in. The bartender seated us. The server came over and told us the daily specials... that was the last time she spoke to us. LITERALLY. When we ordered and when she brought us drinks/appetizers/food... she did not say a word. Not even in response to us saying thank you. She just scowled and walked away. Both my partner and I are in the service industry and we were embarrassed for her. She didn’t do any quality checks and she left as we were finishing our mains without saying anything to us. She also spent most of her time standing at her friends table, to the point that the bartender came to check on us twice. He’s also the one that cashed us out. I believe Nicholas was his name. He was entirely more pleasant and professional than her. Also... I’m not sure what their covid policies are because they’re not posted on the website from what I can see, but the female server wasn’t wearing a mask at any point. Nicholas and the kitchen staff were, from what we could see. She should know better. We will still order from here but definitely won’t come back for dine in. We normally like the pub setting but won’t take a risk on such bad service again. Hoping it was just an off day for her and not a constant thing! I don’t want to blast her publicly but would love to let management know who it was.
