I was impressed with the hotel from the moment I entered the door. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The little touches left in my room as a welcome made me feel like my business was appreciated. A nice breakfast brunch was included in the stay which was a nice addition. The only criticism I'd give was the room was marketed as "top floor city view" and my window literally looked out onto the roof. Not much of a city view however the room itself was quite nice. Lots of great amenities near by including a very large shopping mall and the metro station.

The staff here are amazing . Both Scott and Monica went above beyond to make our stay great. From accommodating an early arrival to finding my daughter a quiet place to write her exam. They gave us maps and tips on places to go see. Great rooms, and breakfast.

Looks recently renovated so it’s clean and modern. Super friendly people at the front desk, housekeeping and breakfast area on the second floor. Quick note on the light switches, there’s one in the room that’s really hard to find and it controls the lighting above the bed - see the uploaded picture for a tiny black switch next to the wall power outlets. Free parking underground is great and easy to access using the hotel elevators. If you get there late evening, you will need your hotel key card to open the gates. It’s also part of a shopping mall so you have access to lots of food options. Looking forward to a return trip!

0 out of 5 stars! My sister and her boyfriend came to see us at our room and front desk asked what room they were heading to. They called up to our room and said no visitors, if we want to visit we can go to the breakfast bar and visit on the 2nd floor. Never heard of a hotel where you can’t have visitors. Would not recommend at all. I’m 7 months pregnant with a 3 year old. Do you think I can pack everything up to go visit around? I am Indigenous and felt racially profiled. Not only are you singling myself and my family out but you are putting our health and well being at risk for making us visit in a public area during a pandemic when I am 7 months pregnant. My sister and her boyfriend had their own place to stay while in Vancouver so they definitely weren’t coming to stay with us. I have left reviews on all platforms and I made a TT with 13K views and 300 comments from people who agree with me. What your staff did was not okay.

Love staying here every time we visit Vancouver. Great location just the right distance from all the downtown action - a short 20min SkyTrain ride away. Parking being free + reasonably priced EV charging makes coming here from the states a breeze. Great toiletries, comfortable rooms, pleasant staff - can't say enough good things.

Really appreciate the caring and helpful staff and great service. Everything at this hotel was great — especially the workers. Felt very safe and taken care of in every moment. Heated outdoor pool in the winter…quite a luxurious touch.

Reading those past reviews of unhappy customers makes me think they were in the wrong hotel. My family and I booked a room but at the last minute had unexpected guests coming with us. Brandon at the front desk was very pleasant to remind the hotel policy that we can't be all in the same room. He offered we get another room at the lowest discounted price he could give us. I also got the first room with the extra pillows as I requested weeks ahead. Holiday Inn is the best property for me!

We stayed in the hotel for three nights, the location is convenient with sky train right outside, metrotown shopping center is right next to it. The kitchen staffs were outstanding. Food was fresh and dinning areas super clean. The only thing we are disappointed is that my daughter left her music folder in the room, thinking under the bed. We contacted the hotel by email, if they can email the pages to us Friday, got no response. We called front desk but she transfer my call to the lost and found to leave a voice message. I understand it’s holidays so are waiting to hear back. Will update.

Highly recommend. Hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was incredible, very clean with a fantastic view. This was a safe and beautiful place to stay. Comfortable and accommodating. Easy access to the mall as well which was lovely. I would 100% go back. Amazing service, made my trip that much better.

Nice and close to the mall and restaurants. Staff was friendly! Great breakfast. Parking is tight but we always found a spot. However, there were issues with our thermostat that did not get resolved before we left. Ended up just turning it off. I had a hard time falling asleep in the hot room. Cleaner threw out collectable empty beer bottles I was saving as souvenirs (I get they didn't know but it was a serious bummer).

Feeling deceived and let down by the Holiday Inn Metrotown Despite booking our room weeks in advance and doing our due diligence, we were sorely disappointed by our stay at the Holiday Inn. Upon arrival, we were met with striking hotel staff and a lack of housekeeping services, which was not disclosed to us beforehand, nor was it on their website. This is an utterly deceitful way of doing business, and it's unacceptable. Furthermore, we were promised breakfast as part of our room rate, but it turned out to be microwavable breakfast boxes that were inedible and unappetizing. We chose the hotel based on this promise and were sorely disappointed, and if we had known beforehand, we would never have stayed there. Adding to the discomfort was the unclean toilet seat, which was unacceptable. We were also charged for parking, which, considering the other problems we encountered, was inappropriate. The staff made no effort to check on us or address our concerns, and our checkout process was rushed and unsatisfactory. We had a long journey ahead of us, and we didn't have the energy to argue with the staff. The only positive aspect of our stay was the spacious room and the friendly lady serving the microwavable breakfast. Nonetheless, we are extremely unhappy with our experience and would like to speak to someone in charge to resolve our issues. We have previously written to the Holiday Inn but have yet to receive a response. My best advice for ownership is to let go of Scott.

Holiday Inn Express has come a long way from the first one I stayed in many years ago. Room was large, quiet and king size bed was very comfortable. Breakfast choice was expansive and very tasty. LRT station is across the street with easy access and large mall is all around. If you are coming to Burnaby this is the place to stay.

I really want to give only one star because it’s the most noisy hotel we’ve ever stayed at, but the staff was nice. We got a room with tons of air conditioner fans right outside of the window. I can nearly bear the light rail noise even though it raises my heartbeat every 3 minutes, but the air conditioner fan runs all time. We could not sleep at all. I can’t believe they assign such a terrible room to their elite member especially we asked for a quiet room. My husband usually is a deep sleeper regardless the environment, but none of us was able to sleep here. We end up moving to another room with only light rail noise around 12:40am midnight(so it’s not like they don’t have an option for customers, but they chose to put us to the worst room.) They really should leave that terrible room as storage or notify customers before they move in, instead of assigning to their diamond elite member when there are tons of other better rooms available!!! Really disappointed, and made a terrible trip.

I stayed at the hotel for four nights and absolutely loved it! It was conveniently located near everything in Metrotown, and the staff were incredibly friendly. As an IGH Platinum member, I felt really welcomed there. The rooms were spotless and felt cozy. The breakfast was delicious, although I did get a bit bored with the same food after a few days. The only downside was the late checkout; even though I requested late checkout, the system still locked me out of my room around 11am and even the staff weren't able to unblock it without the master key.

Excellent staff; friendly, kind, thoughtful and professional. The building was very secure which was appreciated. Close to everything; sky train, mall, restaurants, etc. Secure underground parking for regular height vehicles. The rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious which was a nice surprise! The pool is half shaded, small but clean. This is a great place to bring kids or use as a base to downtown nightlife.

It was a great experience. The staff at the front are very friendly and easy to deal with. Got my room quick. I just wish I was able to do an early check in. But all is good. Will definitely recommend this location. A very minor complain was the room. No windows but the quality and finish is great.

Staff were all polite and welcoming. The hotel is very clean..our rooms were spacious enough…great selection of breakfast items. Great location as well since it’s close to the mall and the skytrain.

I have never been more humiliated or frustrated!!!!! I am still hurt! I usually don't write reviews but this was an extreme situation for us with our little ones. The manager Brandon of the Hotel Holiday Inn in Burnaby is the only person I know acting the way he did. Putting a family of 5 on the street at 8pm is the most inhumane and cold hearted act which I could ever imagine to happen in Canada. We booked a room with 2 queen beds for one night only to get to our appointment to a consulate in time on the next day. It was only one night! We did want to stay there for a whole week out of joy! But because we have 3 kids instead of 2 and brought an air mattress for our third child he asked us to either pay another $200 or leave the hotel (in addition to the $407 for ONE night). The reason was for fire safety but how does that make sense if the hotel has a few empty rooms and my son sleeps in a room beside us instead of sleeping in ours? No answer from Brandon.... We did not have that extra money. After explaining this to Brandon (My online business is down thanks to the inflation and he just gave me a quick grin for that, like he wouldn't care or even enjoyed it.) he still acted cruel and humiliated me in front of other guests and gave me the feeling of being some criminal by asking us to go get our things from the room but leaving one person downstairs. We could not go all up, like I would lock myself up like a stubborn child and act criminal. Me a helpless mother with three kids... This was the most shocking and most saddest situation I have ever experienced since I am in Canada (since 2018). We have booked hotel rooms before and always used an air mattress for our third child and we have always been welcome. There is no expression for what we have experienced.

We found the staff to be very rude and unaccommodating. The hotel was under construction so there was noise starting in the early morning and lasting all day and we still paid a premium price. They did not seem to be found of kids in their hotel as they were not even allowed to walk through the halls without supervision (may I add that the kids I am referring to are 10 years old). I have stayed at many Holiday Inn hotels, but this one was by far the worst experience I have ever had. I will not stay there again nor would I recommend it to anyone I know

I went to holiday inn Express many times before with my family of 6 and it went smoothly, but at this one the man refused to let us all stay In one room even though we asked many times. we had no trouble staying in a 2 queen bed room before and they said it was some law that more than 4 people cannot stay in one room. even when we asked for a refund they did not give it. the hotel itself is fine but the customer service was absolutely horrible. they left us and the sleeping kids sit in the lobby at 1 am. this was the worst hotel service I have ever experienced in my life.

I stayed here again with my dad and the service was beyond 5-stars! Not only did they remember that I was here in September 2021, but I also received a thank you card for staying! Monica and the other staff went above and beyond! There's really nothing to complain. There is construction on the 4th floor, but we couldn't hear anything! Really excited to see how the renovated rooms will look like. This hotel is definitely my go-to place to stay whenever I visit Vancouver :)

I stayed here with my family for about 3 nights. The location is awesome as it’s connected to the mall and steps from Walmart. The train station is directly across from the hotel and there are several food options. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean with nice views. Breakfast was great with very accommodating staff who helped assist my husband and I in getting our toddlers in high chairs. They even went out of their way to warm milk for them. Wonderful experience!

Once again we had a lovely stay at the Holiday Inn metrotown. The staff is what makes the stay so enjoyable. Everyone is welcoming, friendly and always has a pleasant greeting. Without fail everyone will wish us a good day, ask us if we need anything etc. I think the breakfast staff is our favorite. Both Maria and Melba recognized us from previous visits and absolutely went out of their way to be sure we were well looked after. I have a fairly severe gluten allergy and they have bent over backwards everytime time to make sure I don't go hungry and have a breakfast with no gluten! Thank you Maria and Melba. You keep us coming back! Gail McIntosh and Dennis Wilson

Nice hotel with very lavish breakfast. Loved the service and facilities provided with precautions during this Covid era. However, the pigeons around is sort of issue in terms of cleanliness of outdoor portions of hotel. Also outdoor pool needs more attention and frequent water change rather than just cleaning especially due to pigeons and birds drinking pool water.
