Update Jan 2022. The food court used to be one of my favorites for authentic Chinese food. Unfortunately I now avoid this place because most vendors have poor service attitude, and many have jacked up prices an insane 20-50% over last few years. The supermarket is quite popular. There are various restaurants and drink places. Other than that the rest of the mall is usually slow and quiet.

This is a very large Asian mall. There are a lot of vendors, especially food vendors. The food court is spectacular.

Mall is always packed and the parking lot is horrible, but it has everything Asian you'll need, from food to services. Kind of like a chinese night market but only on a grander scale. By the way, make sure you have cash with you as a lot of the stalls don't take credit cards.

Nice place to walk through and pick up snacks, bubble tea, or fresh produce from the market. The market was very busy, but I left with a big bag of fruit to have in my hotel room. And the line went very fast, they are very efficient! This place had anything you might need, including hair salons and a food court. The courtyard is a nice place to sit or even stroll through. Upstairs you can find the yummy Crystal Seafood restaurant 😋

I really do like the food court here, it's cheap and there is plenty of variety. However it's crowded even on weekdays. If I could find the architect that designed the parking lot I would make considerable effort to ensure that he/she never designs another building ever again. Absolute nightmare getting in and out of the underground parking. Make sure you have cash too, as most places here are cash only

It's okay to shop here as it's an Asian mall with Asian stalls and food court. The underground parking is a complete mess with only one lane in and one lane out. You can be stuck for 30 minutes+ just trying to leave. The groceries here are cheaper than other places and the food court has a wide selection of foods to choose from. Better to walk here than driving here and parking.

This mall is a place where you can find affordable Asian goods and produce. Pros - A great selection of produce on the lower floor that are fresh and cheap with fast service. - Food court serving mainly Chinese dishes from snacks and drinks to full meal courses. - Wide variety of stores like phone repairs, hair salons and travel agencies. - Benches and free newspapers available for everyone. - Accessible through transit. Cons: - The underground parking lot is tight, especially the ramps connecting between levels. Because there is only one entrance and exit, you have to wait for some time to make your way out. - Parking lot clearance starting at level 2 is quite small. A large pickup truck will not be able to fit. - Washrooms could use some cleaning in regards to wet floors and counters. - General mall cleaning is needed. There are times when garbage cans in the mall is full without anyone clearing it. - The mall in general is old and outdated. Many of the interior amenities and interior design are dull and old style. - Horrible website! I don't even know how one can find what they are looking for with ease. Website needs a remake. - I don't know how the entire structure will stand against an earthquake, especially the underground parking lot. There should be inspections and retrofitting of the building so it doesn't collapse. If you want to buy cheap and fresh produce, want to enjoy affordable Chinese cuisine, or seek common services like phone repairs in Cantonese and Mandarin, this is the place to do so. I suggest coming by foot if you have a large vehicle or don't feel comfortable driving in tight spaces. Beware that there are several reserved parking on P1, a fenced area on P3 and some spots reserved for residents on P4. There are also large parking fans there too, and when they are on, it can get loud down there.

The food court is the best part—a great place if you're looking for authentic Chinese food. There are many vacant shops & the underground parking is usually busy.

5 juumon points ~ I love this mall so so so much!!! I basically grew up in a small and I’ve seen a change over the years. Most places are cash only but that’s not really a problem. They have the best bubble tea place ever it’s called money tea I would highly suggest visiting and getting their assm milk tea it is my favourite in the city! If you’re looking for a little bit of fun I would say the crane came stall on the second floor is very cute and there’s always a good chance of winning some thing, also the guy who always works there is very kind and willing to help you exchange almost anything you win for something of equal value. If you’re looking for some juicy meat, in the market area there’s a place called king BBQ and it has the best HK style meat, I have been visiting them for over 10 years. They are very kind. I am very sad to see that a lot of places closed down but I hope people will still continue to come and support this mall. 謝謝🙏、再見👋

I am embarrassed to say that I visited this mall for the first time. It is a conveniently located mall full of Asian stores, a food court with variety of Asian food (not all western type), and 3 hr free parking. I have to say it is one of the underground parkings I hated, going in circles and even passed from the same spot 2 times until I figured out the exit. I will be back to try some yummy Asian food, just wished they all had English menus. I spotted few that have English descriptions and will probably give a try from their menus.

A nice large mall. We went for a walk around the mall as part of the day exploring the area during our brief stay. It's no different from any other mall with a variety of stores.

Food court serves very authentic Chinese food, great flavour for Chinese! The price probably the cheapest I could find in town. The first floor grocery market makes a very competitive price for fresh vegetables and fruits. Crystal mall is a pretty Chinese style mall. You could find almost all kinds of cooking ingredients you need there.

I felt like I was in China. The food court was the best for me : very authentic and the food was tasty. Try j&G fried chicken you won’t regret it. This mall is more for food and drinks than fashion. There are also many bubble teas shops :). I’ll go back for sure next time that I visit Vancouver.

Filthy, disgusting and the stench makes you want to puke. Run down dilapidated mall and it’s food court. I guess the Chinese people are so at home with the stench that they don’t even realize how filthy the food court and surroundings are. Maybe smell reminds them of their home country ! Stay away from this filth food court if you have some class.

The Crystal Mall is like many other downtown ethnic malls dotting western Canada: interesting food stalls, grocery vendors, Kpop stores, various tech and gizmo shops, cheap/free (and cramped) parking, but a bit dated and worn in places. We enjoyed a few snacks and bakery items despite being there very early in the day before most things were open. The bathrooms were mostly clean, although the men's urinal appeared to be leaking a bit. The parking signs suggest it's free for the first 3 hours and that visitors need to register at one of the many automated parking machines... Except we couldn't find any. An inquiry with security indicated that we would need to visit the management offices to pay for parking. Needless to say, we just skipped it, and left before our 3 hours were up. This building has some unusual circular architecture elements, but also appeared to have either leaks or a some issue with moisture on the second floor as there were many air mover/carpet dryer fans placed all over (despite having no carpet). Overall, an interesting but uninspired visit.

An old Chinese shopping mall with small individual shops selling Chinese herbal medicine, household wares, jeweleries, also there are travel agents and immigration consultants. Food court on 1st floor provides a variety of cuisine choices. Price is affordable but taste is not good. A wet market on ground floor selling all kinds of fruits and vegetables. Unless you go there for a purpose, otherwise you will not find it interesting to browse around.

What a cool mall. There is a market to get fresh baked goods and produce, meat and fish. There are several stores dedicated to Asian knick knacks, food, snacks, candy, skin care, even mail and postage specifically to China. Definitely a cool place a tourist might want to check out to experience the unique cultural diversity im Vancouver.

I often visit this place twice per month to buy fruits and vegetables. It is easy to access. I love exotic fruits and vegetables and I am glad I found this place. Price is cheaper compared to other Asian markets. I come here to buy fresh lectures, chives, lemons, guavas, lychees, papayas, etc. Most of them asks for cash only. You can find lots of good Chinese foods in this mall.

A very 'asian' mall. Almost like a day time, night market experience, if that makes sense. Groceries, accessories, electronics services, food places, etc... Fun to walk around if you have nothing else to do. And there's a fun claw machine place called Octmon 😂

Crystal Mall is located in a dense part of Burnaby next to Metrotown Mall. The mall has a ton of great Asian restaurants and stores and is surrounded by lots of little plazas too making it a very convenient location if you are looking to do a couple things at the same time. Food court here is a gem with LOTS of great food in an unsuspecting location. The only down side is the parking here is pretty atrocious. It's not their fault there just isn't enough of it and it can be chaotic in that underground area.

There is a lot of variety of fruits and vegetables which is at the bottom of the building. The prices are not that expensive and it's not that crowded. The food court is very interesting when it comes to Asian food and not too pricey either. This part is located at the second floor of the mall. Next to the food court there are immigration offices and the people are willing to help when it comes to share information. In general it's a good place to go and get fruit or spend sometime at the food court. The people are requested to wear face mask and all the places have hand sanitizer.

The Crystal mall has plenty of produce to buy fresh and the second floor is where its food court is located. The lone Chinese BBQ stall has tasty foods but prices are super expensive fir $20 a dish of BBQ pork and white chicken. If around $15 only, i will give 5 stars.

Good spot if you're hungry and want some food that won't break the bank. Mall is quiet but has some interesting stores. Be prepared for a crazy parking experience. Don't fight for the top floor of parking, it isn't worth it.

Nice small mall with lot of small shops and market place to shop for vegetables fruits dry fruits. Enough parking spots. Mall is very old and definitely needs a renovation. It was open on xmas eve and boxing day inspite of most other shops and mall were closed in Burnaby and other cities too.

  • 4/5 Jojo K. 2 years ago on Google
It's a beautiful, little mall with lots of stores where you can have fun and feel like a kid again. It's really important to me that the mall continues to be open. All of the other outlets around my house are now closed except for the grocery store, forcing us to drive 20 minutes each way.

  • 4/5 Dana M. 2 years ago on Google
Stopped at this mall to purchase some groceries as well as getting a haircut. People working at the various vendor shops are down to earth and makes the visit a good experience. Spent a short time at the food fair on the second floor - vendors there offer the usual Chinese offerings (e.g. bubble tea, Shanghai style dimsum, HK fast meals, various culinary styles with their versions of noodle, rice and soup dishes). It was quite busy there - most folks were, like myself, there to shop for something to eat either for home or to get a quick meal as a part of their day there. Definitely will go back again to check out a meal at the food fair and to explore the non-food centered shops...

  • 4/5 Roger A. 1 year ago on Google
I feel this is more of an Asian mall, kind of like how you would find in Richmond. - tons of small businesses. - Food court - TONS OF OPTIONS predominately Chinese foods. - There is a hotel attached to the mall as well.

Here you can eat a lot of delicacies with local Chinese characteristics, such as pan-fried buns and beef noodles. But the price of snacks is not cheap. In addition, the environment is a little noisy. Many stores only accept cash, which is not very convenient. To park in the parking lot, you need superb skills. Anyway, just experience it.

The food stalls are all great and reasonably priced. The food court building management needs to upgrade AC system Seating Lighting and finish the floor with a brighter cleaner look. The loyal patrons deserve a better dining experience.

Only worth coming here for the food court and the wet market, even despite the...unusual aromas to be found in either: both are top notch! The rest of the mall is grimy, run-down, sparsely populated, even more sparsely operated, with many of the shops either empty, unmanned, or offering services or products that seem shady at best. Parking in the subterranean garage sucks: narrow, cramped, and filled with aggressive and/or sloppy parkers and drivers who make getting in, out, or finding a space more of a headache than it's worth.

My go-to place for Chinese food cravings. And although prices are rising, as all places do, I still enjoy the food selections available. My mom came to visit Vancouver, and I brought her to The Crystal Mall for purchasing hot pot ingredients that we would eat at home. Much more affordable purchasing basic ingredients in these little shops at the marketplace. They have hot pot soup bases (some are Made in Canada), fresh meats, dipping sauces, and affordable vegetables. After a long food shopping spree, we went up to the food court for good eats. We ate Shanghai Dim Sum. Do remember to bring some cash with you if you plan on visiting. Although some places do offer credit card machine readers, others are still cash only.

Its a pretty great mall. Recommend going on the weekdays when its a little quieter though. Largely Asian catered, the layout is nice as well. Three floors to explore, large food court with variety of options, pretty clean too. Large grocery area for foods of all sorts as well. Many electronic repair shops, some barber shops, gift shops, clothing, I really liked the plant stores as well. I'd definitely recommend stopping by at 'Bona Vista' gift shop !
