If you are looking for the gym with full facilities and large, it’s the right place for you. I like that they have general sections and women section. The location is great, only 5 minutes to Metrotown. I like coming here. +++++++ However, it’s my personal problem that I met. I used the personal training. I selected 1-year contract and in that time the PT told me that it’s only $500 cancellation fee. Then something came up with me during the covid, I had to cancel but I needed to pay $1163. I feel unfair to pay the full price because I was deceived about the cancellation fee. Then I still have 4 sessions left for the personal training. After I cancelled the personal training, the personal trainer NEVER reply to me as before. I don’t want to waste my money, as I have 4 sessions left I want to be training. I feel so upset. Overall: I like the facility of this gym, but it’s very poor management. I feel so disappointed even though I like the gym so much, I will cancel my membership after clearing this problem. I want to warn you to DO NOT USE the personal training otherwise you may face a problem like me.

Do you like to book your workouts 1.5 weeks in advance to get a spot? This is the gym for you. Do you like to then ask for a refund and have the staff give you 3-4 inactive email addresses to contact? This is the gym for you. Do you like to pay $75 a month for a gym membership and not be able to work out at all? This is the gym for you. Do you like gyms with useless unprofessional staff? This gym is PERFECT for you. TL;DR This is a clown fiesta of a Gym, go to any other gym.

WARNING: Prepared to have your things stolen at this gym with no help whatsoever from the staff to recover it. I would give 0 stars if I could! My friend lost her $2,000 Canada Goose jacket and $10,000+ ring that was secured away in the locker. The staff should really think about how they’d feel if this happened to them. No wonder this GoodLife is known for theft. Employees couldn’t care less.

Worst managed gym ever! My friend lost her $2k jacket along with a $10k ring and the staff were really hard to work with. They didn’t show any sympathy and treated my friend like it wasn’t a big deal. I would NOT feel comfortable going to this gym knowing how they poorly managed situation like this.

Please Be aware of this place! There is no more room for new members in here and they are keep registering new members. Due to the COVID19 they let only 50 peoples at the time and they are already over the capacity. You can't get in to workout unless you have appointment while they are always fully booked for the whole month, it will be waste money and time for you like me I have got the membership almost a month ago paying $70 month and I could barely got the chance to workout here just less than afew times.

I agree the place is great and the staffs are very welcoming, however, If you are going to register going there, read this first: I've been going since last month and getting a professional personal trainer asking to come to the gym at least 3-4 times a week and just following a plan based on my goal. I was struggling a little bit on the 1st two weeks to use some equipment like barbells because the gym was so busy (6 -8 pm) and you need to wait and try to keep your body warm to do some exercise and it is getting worse this week. Came here last Monday, and today, it was super chaotic. Couldn't find even a free spot to warm up and it is so disappointing. Wasting your time to drive here , Not being able to follow your program, I am not sure if I want to continue going to this location while I have two training sessions are still remained. Please note that I spoke to one of the stuffs and he told me at this time of the year it is normal that the gym is packed which is not acceptable, they should mention it to every new member or who wants to register in the first day. Again it is so disappointing !

I started with GoodLife in Calgary, AB not long ago. And I was sent by my company to work in Vancouver for this Oct month. So I started to google where is the nearest Goodlife in town. After some research I picked this one(called Metrotown)but the location is actually right across Crystal Shopping Mall I spent the last 7 days at this gym (at least 2 hours a day). Here to share some of my own experience for the people who is planning to join. -Parking. It is FREE(undergroud) they share the same parking space with the Element Hotel on P2 level (Don't pay for the parking until you entering the gym in 2nd floor) You will see a machine which offers you 2 hrs FREE parking👍 -Cleaness. I've been tryung out 3 different locations in Calgary Goodlife None of those is satisfy until the first time I visited this one in Burnaby. Both the gym & mens changing room are very tidy and clean.(sorry no chance visiting the women changing room) And this is the only location I did my showers in 7 continue days. The staff entering opposition gender changing room I read complaints about this issue which is a male staff entering the women changing room to help a member w/o any notice The same thing happen yesterday A male member lost his key for his locker so a female staff entered tge mem's room to help him to cut his lock. Also the female staff did not get anyone's attention before go in. *(This is for sure an issue & hope the mangement can look into it ASAP) -Shortage of towel Everytime I obtain a clean &fresh towel when entering the gym. They may had that probelm years ago, but nit any more -service of the staff They are very friendly & helpful. The 1st time I couldn't find the entrance of the parking lot, so I called and the staff explained very clearly and be very patient to my questions. And everyday when I left the gym They say goodbye with a smiling face😊 -Equipment. this is the location with all the equipments I need. -Other member attitude Other member are also friendly, even sometime some people spend very long time on 1 machine(20mins). However, if you ask them and they are willing to share the machine in bewteen time. Conclusion: there maybe some other location has a even better standard comapring to this Metrotown location However, I have no complaint and also no bad feeling about this location in my last 7 days trial. Thank you and hope these infomation helps for your decision.

Very crowded. No equipment to use. Waste of money. Barely any vacant machine to use for many time slots during a day. One water drinking machine has been not functional for over weeks. The tarker front desk is not friendly not smiling as the other guys do. He also jokes at client's accents. Good management job Goodlife

Management is a problem. The facilities maintenance is lacking and slow. Machines can take months to be repaired, longest I've seen was 6 months... Also it seems like at least once a week someone has their stuff stolen, even when it's been locked up. Get good locks or keep your stuff on you.

The equipment is always needs repairs, and if you let the gym employees about the issues they brush you off as if you're being an annoyance. The female gym employees frequently walk through the men's change rooms, hopefully the same isn't true for the female change rooms. They openly let people take photos and videos in the change rooms, employees don't stop the behavior despite the signage saying it's not allowed. If you want poor quality equipment needing repair and change rooms that do not feel secure, this is your gym. Got a response from management who told me to do what I have already done on multiple occasions without change. Every time I bring up comments I ask that they write it down and I look for corrections but it has been months with no change. Nov. 11 *Update* - Had another bad experience with an attendant calling me an idiot tonight as I finished my workout just as they were closing. I wasn’t even the last person in the gym. Luckily his colleague walked over and said my workout was pretty cool but they'd like me to finish up and I did within 1 minute. Before the second person walked over the first guy was getting irate and I was worried he was going to hit me, he got in my personal space and threatened to drag me out like security. I was glad when the second person walked over and his presence calmed the first attendant. I finished my workout and quickly left the gym before closing time and ahead of a few other people.

TL;DR: Great gym space that suffers from extensively poor management decisions. Offering less features than competitors for more money. This is the first time I've ever felt the need to voice my displeasures and write a review. Originally I was just going to email the general manager. But instead, I will voice some of my displeasures in the form of a review. The overall gym space is fantastic, with around 10 squat racks, numerous benches and plenty of areas to perform deadlifts. This gym also has virtually every necessary machine you could think of. But that's really where the good ends... Where many commercial gyms have made the transition to a new "post-covid" world, Goodlife Fitness has failed to adapt. - Hours of Operation/ Not 24 hours: Its been a little over a year since commercial gyms have been allowed to reopen and Goodlife Fitness has yet to reinstate their 24 hour timeline. Conversely, other commercial gyms such as Anytime Fitness have been back to their regular 24/7 access since the reopening of commercial gyms. Unless there is some legislation that I have missed there is absolutely no excuse to not have returned to 24 hour operation. Furthermore, Goodlife fitness closes at 8:30pm on weekends. Meaning, the last scheduled booking is for 7:30pm...Despite all this, monthly fees have not been reduced and they remain one of the most expensive commercial chain gyms in the lower mainland. - Cross platform gym use. Unlike other commercial gyms that allow you to use any of their facilities once you've become a member, Goodlife fitness changes extra for that feature. - Covid Line Issues. By far one of the most frustrating aspects about attending the Metrotown Goodlife Fitness is simply lining up to get in. If you've never been to the gym, it is accessed via the 2nd floor. The second floor does not have an open floor plan, but is rather a long narrow corridor. The gym allows for 50 individuals to reserve spots for a gym session, and a further UNLIMITED amount of people to get on the "waitlist." Regardless of where you are positioned on the waitlist, the first 10 people in the waitlist line are granted access... So what ends up happening is you have anywhere from 30 - 70 people from both the reserved/waitlist all trying to line up (while trying to remain socially distanced) in a small area nowhere near large enough to accommodate them all. To add further chaos, you have all the people leaving the earlier gym session creating their own line in that SAME corridor to use the elevator to the parking lot (Max 2 people per elevator.) It truly is an absolute cluster**** To add insult to injury, the gym has laid out JUST 10 reserve spot "standing markers" and a further 3-4 waitlist markers...Like they're seriously only expecting 4 waitlisted individual's to show up. (Generally there's anywhere from 10-20) The direction of these "standing marker" premade lines make no sense either, with the waitlist line ending right in front of the "up" escalator after 4 individuals creating confusion on where the next person should stand. Id be generally curious as to know why they didn't wrap the line down the stairs and out the front door. Myself, as well as many others have made complaints to the staff which have obviously fallen on deaf ears. occasionally staff members will come out and scold everyone for not partaking in covid spacing, which generally gets a laugh out of everyone as its just not possible. No help is provided. To summarize, this fantastic space is ruined by inept management decisions that make you scratch your head.

The gym equipment is great but their staffs are lacking in education I made an appointment at 9am for my workout (this is the new policy that the gym imposed for covid-19, and i followed and respected this policy). I arrived 20 mins late due to unforseen circumstances, but was prepared to leave at the end of my time slot. The receptionist specified that I should finish my workout by 10 and I replied "of course, thank you" I wasted no time and started my workout right away. While doing my crunches, another receptionist came and interrupted my workout by rudely asking what my name was. She did not bother to say "excuse me" but merely looked at her device and demanded to know my name. She did this 3 times. On the second time she asked, I said nicely, "I already got checked at reception, do I need to do it again?" She didnt answer my question but rather demanded again what my name was. She didnt even contact my eyes and stared at her device ,there was no explanation at all. I finally gave her my name but felt disrespected by her attitude. This made me feel like I was being interrogated. After my workout, I went to see her manager. I asked for an apology but didnt get one. The manager refused to take reaponsibility for his staff's action and told me he cant force his staff to apologize. I understand things are different now with covid-19, but this establishment needs to improve on their procedure in checking their sign in registry in order to prevent rude interruptions of clients working out. I am making this review so people will know my frustrating experience I had at Goodlife Fitness burnaby.

It's a nice gym and the staff are good. Unfortunately, you shouldn't expect to follow any type of regimen if you go after work hours. Place is slammed and cannot accommodate the volume of clients during peak hours.

⭐️☆☆☆☆ GoodLife Fitness is a bit of a rollercoaster experience. On the positive side, the front gate staff are a friendly bunch, always ready with a smile and a warm greeting. However, the good vibes at the entrance are unfortunately overshadowed by some glaring issues. The gym management leaves much to be desired. There's a noticeable lack of organization, and it often feels like chaos is the order of the day. Equipment maintenance seems to be a low priority, with broken machines taking their sweet time to get fixed. One major disappointment was the bait-and-switch tactic used for the supposed "free trial." The promise of a complimentary trial is enticing before you sign-up for a year-long commitment, but it quickly transforms into an intensive sales pitch that can feel overwhelming. What was initially marketed as a straightforward opportunity to experience the gym turns into a high-pressure environment where the staff pushes hard to secure a membership commitment and extensive personal training despite being able to rep out the 100's! In conclusion, while the front gate staff bring a positive energy to the gym, the poor management and misleading promotions leave much to be desired. Thankfully, there's Evolve Gym opening at Brentwood to save the day!

Terrible system and bad customer service. I was unawared that I was charged for 8 months without using the gym even though I called to cancel the membership. They failed to send me a confirmation email and told me it was my mistake to not check? I kindly asked them to check the phone call record since I can provide them the exact date and time(with proof of call) that I called to cancel. They claim to not have phone call record in the system ( which they should in case of error like this) and the general manager was extreme cold and not helpful. I even explained to him why I didn’t notice these charges was because I had a baby in May and It was an extremely busy time of my life. I understand he goes by the rule but not trying to help at all, not return phone call when they said they would and not having an understanding, is the attitude that I don’t appreciate.

I recently visited Good Life with high hopes for their free trial, attracted by the positive reviews and promises of a welcoming environment. However, despite friendly staff at the front desk, my experience ultimately left me with a sour taste. The initial interaction with the front desk was indeed pleasant. They greeted me warmly and seemed genuinely interested in helping me get started with the free trial. Unfortunately, that was where the positive aspects of my experience came to an abrupt end. Upon expressing my interest in the free trial, I was informed that it was only available on an appointment basis due to a company policy requiring all trials to be booked in with a consultation. While the receptionist maintained their friendliness, the inconvenience of such a restricted trial window left me questioning the gym's commitment to accommodating potential members. Transparency is key in any business, and Good Life fell short in this regard. It would have been far more beneficial for both parties if this crucial information had been communicated upfront, saving me the time and effort of planning a visit. Despite the initial friendliness of the receptionist, the lack of transparency regarding the trial hours overshadowed the positive aspects of my visit. It's disheartening when a potentially good experience is marred by such oversight. If Good Life wishes to build lasting relationships with prospective members, I strongly urge them to reconsider their corporate strategy.

I have been chasing them to cancel my membership for past one month and they haven't done anything. They have continued charging me more than $300 every 2 weeks and their HQ is least bothered to reply to their customers. Highly unprofessional and unhelpful staff. They don't care about their customers and only care about money. I am tired of calling them and mailing them and they always give the same reply.

Why are you not open 24 hours? Everything COVID related is done now. Also, stop flicking the lights on and off close to closing, someone's going to "accidentally" get hurt one of these days because they can't put heavy weight back, and I don't think you guys visually impairing gymgoers is in the contract I signed. Other than that, and the overly crowded atmoshpere, not a horrible place to workout.

Awful commutation between business and clients. Using their app to book sessions is a nightmare. I’ve tried calling 6 times to your gym to fix an issue on my app not letting me book and not one person has answered the phone and I know and have seen how many employees work there. They are more focused on talking to each other rather than helping. Very poor business practice from this gym.

Since covid this place has gone down hill! Booking and only getting an hr to workout . Realistically I'm not paying to wait . They keep signing new members up and it's impossible to book unless you are the first one up at 12am. Every good trainer and employee has already left this God awful place. Cleaning protocol. Yet have I ever seen anyone clean ..go elsewhere . Obvious management doesn't care or the Head office . It's all about the money here. I tell everyone I know NOT to sign up here ..maybe a different location is managed better.

Very deceptive policy to taking more money out of your pocket. without telling you that they are open after COVID, they start secretly charging you. if the charge doesn't go through they wait for month and then they email you that we were open and you owe us 2 months of subscription fees plus some $70 administration fee. I went to this location and after waiting for 30 minutes, a representative showed up and said we understand the confusion and I will take care of all the administration fees But you need to pay for services that we were secretly charging you! After I paid and came back home I realized they charged me the admin fees too. Very Very disappointed.

I have been your client for a year now. Unfortunately, I got an unpleasant experience with membership policy during this difficult time. I often follow the news and knew about when the gyms open. However, for some reason, my e-mail was not registered in your system and I did not receive updates. On the 25th of June, I went to the GoodLife website and saw the information that you need to register in order to get to the gym. (Since I didn’t have my e-mail information entered, I decided to register and see what is available.) I registered for one gym class, but unfortunately I could not go because my schedule is very unstable and I can’t find the exact time for classes. After I missed one lesson, I received an e-mail with a warning. Unfortunately, I did not like this, because I can not know the exact time for gym classes. After that, some time passed and I thought that I would no longer be charged for membership. However, on July 10, money was withdrawn from me. I decided to ask for help in support on Saturday, July 10th. The support service told me that it is only possible to suspend the fee for August, but it is impossible to make a refund for July. I need to contact the manager specifically at the Metrotown location. I tried to reach Metrotown location, but no one answered. Next, I decided to come to the manager’s working hours (Monday through Friday). I came to GoodLife at Metrotown today, Monday 13 July, and talked to the manager. However, I was told that a refund is not possible. I am very disappointed with this statement, since I do not plan to visit the gym this month and my money has been spent on nothing. At this time, this is very upsetting.

This organization has shown extremely fraudulent policies around membership cancellation and created an unacceptable membership experience for my mom for whom English is not the first language. In person at this branch, my mom was told that cancellations must be processed via "goodlife head office" over email or phone - Their website clearly states that a cancellation can be processed in person per the attached photo directly from their website. The corporate line is only available 9AM - 5PM EST, which is highly restrictive for west coast customers. Why is there a 30 day notice requirement for cancellation? Why is this not a self service option via the membership login on their website? These conflicting policies create a predatory environment for community members like my mom who is not tech-savvy. Unacceptable. I hope the executive leadership for Goodlife finds themselves an ethics commissioner.

Last year, I got touched inappropriately by a one of the patrons. The case was escalated twice by management but they still decided to go ahead and let him continue to go there. Even with video evidence! Such a shame. Safe to say that I will not be going there at this time. The only good thing I can say is that when I told one of the employees Farah, she was so sweet and told me that she would do her best to try and open it up the case for me. Thank you Farah for showing some kindness!

I have had a membership with Goodlife since 2016, which means absolutely nothing to them, as I was charged, and my was membership deleted over the Pandemic period. I was looking forward to the reopening, but was given very little notice or details as most accounts were frozen since closure. Due to this fact, I was not made aware until the deletion of my account that I was charged several months of service I didn't even use, or made aware was available. The issue? My banking information was not updated and going back to the gym was, let's be honest not a priority during a Pandemic. This is a company that cares more about taking your money than its customers. I highly suggest you support a local gym instead. Goodlife is Greedy, Unapologetic and above all a Waste of Time!

Gym is always at capacity with Covid restrictions. And you have to book a week in advance when possible ,plus youre limited to an hour which honestly I need more time and now you can't even shower, a place where you clean yourself with soap. Why can't they quickly wipe those down?. Also I was charged without notice when my account was on freeze and the situation still hasn't been corrected.

Be careful when you sign up with them, they will make you sign up a contract without your knowledge and when you want to cancel your membership they will charge you for signing the contract which you didn’t have any idea about.

Good gym with outrages corporate policies. PT is good and amenities are good. Gym manager is reasonable and helpful. Though think twice if you plan to sign up for PT - they will be very ridiculous and will not let you go easily in case your circumstances change. I have moved 29 km away from the gym and asked for refund of PT sessions - they declined it since the policy is over 30 km - such a joke. Would not recommend this place.

It was really hard to figure out how to rate this place.. It’s the only GoodLife near me and after reading all the reviews saying not to come between 5-10, I decided to try it out at 10:15pm on a Monday night. It. Was. Packed. The equipment is fine and exactly the same as any other GoodLife, but you won’t get to use it. The space is waaay too small for the population it’s trying to serve. I also didn’t like how the whole place shakes whenever someone drops their weights (due to being on the second floor), which is constantly. I can’t see how working out here after work is even possible and I have cancelled my GoodLife membership as a result. The space is clean, the staff are friendly enough, but I come to work out, not stand around.

They back charged me for the month they couldnt because of covid. Only reason I found out was looking at my bank account the bill was double the usual amount, thats a nice surprise after my work was shutdown april to aug. The covid capacity is a joke, its packed in there and no one wears masks. But they did remove the rowers, because thats "to risky" due to heavy breathing or so im told by the staff. Pretty disappointed in the way they handled their billing during this situation.

Don't ever sign up for the personal training sessions with Good Life Fitness. I signed up my PT sessions with them, pre-paid (worst mistake). The trainers kept leaving, and I had to change the trainer 3 times. On the third-time, I got pregnant and decided to hold back on training so I told them I wasn't ready to go back yet. I also kept getting the emails that I missed the sessions even after I reschedule my session with the trainer, it seems like they are very unorganized. Then the pandemic hits. Now the baby's older, I called yesterday about my sessions, apparently they expired last May. I told them I was never told that they could expired when I signed up, nor when I told them I need to put my sessions on hold . After several conversations exchanged, not they agree to reinstate my sessions, but I would have not signed up with them again.

Such a weird client experience… so since I just moved back to Vancouver, I was generally trying to get to know some gyms,so I walked in to their gym and try to get some info of membership there. 2 guys at reception told me they could not explain to me the membership but some trainers could, so a trainer whose name is Jared came and told me I had to leave cuz he got another appointment and I will need to come back for getting the membership info tomorrow… So I just asked him if I could have a tour for the gym, he said yes and followed me and introduced me each part of gym, but the meantime he left his appointment aside. (I was so confused, you said you had another appointment but you are also able to give me the tour…but you have no time to explain me the membership info… )After that, I decided to cancel the appointment for tomorrow base on this weird client’s interaction. And the brown guy with pony tail at the reception said to me “ Everything okay with you?” (I was actually a bit of speechless, this guy was a bit aggressive since I met him) Clients are not begging for spending money on you guys, I’m sure they are some better gyms in Vancouver.Wondering to see how the messy and unorganized staff can ran this business well…

I’ve been a member since this gym opened in 2015 or 2016. It’s not what is used to be. Staff is extremely rude and incompetent. Random issues happen with my membership through no fault of my own. Don’t let the location fool you, there are many nearby gyms that are actually worth your money.

The facility is very poorly managed. Staff are rude(most of them) with the exception of a few nice staff. They have no value for their members, sauna has been broken for two months now with no clear indication of when it will be repaired. It appears like nothing is being done to have it fixed. If you’re considering signing up here, look elsewhere unless you want to be disappointed. They charge members premium fees for a membership and can’t even provide all the amenities that are promised. These things should be communicated with members and they should be updated on the status of the repair. No repair should ever take 2 months to be fixed.

Corporate would rather rip you off with dishonest and immoral billing practices than build long term relationships with customers. They are allergic to doing the right thing. As a result, they lose more revenue on a long term basis than they gain from short term, sleazy policies. All my friends and family will now be cancelling. Do not support this company, and dont let your network either.

On paper this should be a very good gym. Good location, large space, and nice staff. But it’s the placement of equipment paired with the shortage of equipment to match the volume of customers. This is a busy gym, and they waste so much space. 1/3 of the gym is filled with cardio equipment which is barely used. A very small free weight section. A large personal trainer section which is barely utilized, with a lot of that equipment being desperately needed by all the people going. The personal training area has too many squat racks, with not enough for everyone else. There is a large transition area towards a female only area. The transition has a few pieces of equipment for stretching and that’s about it. It could have been used for more free weight area, which again is very needed. Would not recommend this gym in its current state. There are better GoodLife’s.

I pay for my corporate membership i dont want a MIGHT. Very frustrating system and time consuming. Why do gyms like Steve Nash not have a capacity limit or have to book workouts? u can go anytime

Dishonest and thieving billing system. Had a positive account balance before covid struck as money was put onto the account via credit card. During covid they did implement a freeze on accounts rather than having everyone cancel memberships. The system takes money out but then gives it back again as a separate transaction. Had this freeze throughout covid and to this day but at one point the system did not put back the money. Now trying to get my money back for their system error is turning out to be a real pain. Three phone calls to the gym, two trips to the gym, and a long wait for head office. Billing is all jammed up with head office control so you don’t have a person to talk to directly who has the power to do anything.

I have been here less tham a month awful experience they are over capacity there is no more room they let 50 people's at the time due to the COVID19 rest of members waiting 30 minutes behind the door and they can't get in for workout, the online workout appointment booking is always fully booked for the whole month you can't catch one.

My premiums increased $15 over the last 7 years with no improvement to the services they provide me. Instead they’ve created higher tiers in their membership system. GoodLife used to offer multiple group fitness classes in the morning and evening and now they barely provide 3 classes per day. I wouldn’t mind paying more services improvement every year but at this point, GoodLife is robbing everyone blind. If you want a gym that provides group classes, look elsewhere.

I couldn’t even sign up for the membership online. When I hit “join now” button it says “page does not exist”, pretty buggy their website and app, despite the complaints on Google reviews where most of people say they must book a spot 1-2 weeks before for an hour workout, that’s ridiculous.

Scam!!!!! There is a guy called Omar working in the gym and he scammed me. I paid 80$ extra because of him and they wont do anything about it. So much hidden stuff with this gym. Be careful while signing up with them and especially omar . The service is so poor when I asked for a refund. Complete loss for trusting these people. I asked them “ why are you scamming me” and they replied “your loss, sorry!”

Convenient location and friendly staff. I’ve been coming here for years. My qualm is the club is very very busy, especially in the evenings. Early mornings and super late nights are not too bad. When it’s busy, you have to wait a while to use machines, and most people hog them while on their phones not budging for 20 minutes at a time. Good luck ever doing bench press (I’ve removed it from my chest day because it’s impossible to get on one). They need to set time limits on machine use and make some sort of no cellphone policy while you’re using the machine because people will text and instagram for half an hour while there’s a line up to use a machine. Not cool. Either that or add equipment that’s always in short supply. The Edmonton goodlife’s are way bigger so even when it’s busy you don’t have to wait.

Overall friendly staff and great atmosphere, unfortunately though the sauna in the mens change room has been “under repair” since I moved here in September with no work done on it at all. After being a member of 4 different GoodLife locations in Canada this is the only one I’ve seen with no urgency to fix things. Unfortunate with all members that pay good money to use all amenities!

Pretty nice atmosphere in the gym. There’s no punching bag which is frustrating. If managers are reading this feedback, just think about getting at least one punching bag to enrich your gym facilities. I know bunch of people attending your gym are into martial arts, so you’ll definitely have more positive feedbacks.

I've honestly given it a 3 star because of how inconvenient working out after work hours is and the fact that members were getting charged full membership price when the club was not even in full operation. I signed up for the convenience of 24 hours but it hasn't been 24 hours since Covid started. They had it back for about 2 weeks then stopped it again due to "staffing issues." It just put a bad taste in my mouth, how I would spend $75/m not to be able to even get a work out in cause of how insanely busy it gets. I used to work out before my shift but now that's not possible. It's too bad because they do have great equipment and a lot of it too. I've never seen a gym with so many squat racks and benches. So that's definitely a plus... I think... since with how busy it is, it doesn't make a difference.

I can say nothing but good things about this place. Went in to inquire about membership. Had a tour of the facility. I cannot fathom Bonnie Henry's reasons for closing gyms. The entire gym was sparkling clean. You could tell that very high standards are kept in place here. The two staff members I reacted with were fantastic. I came away with everything I needed to know.

The gym went back to the 24 hours schedule for three weeks and now they cancelled again. I was waiting the 24 hours schedule during all the pandemic. I love this gym cause it's near at 10 minutes from home and 10 from my work, I start to work at 6 am on the morning everyday with no specific end timing usually 7pm. The last three weeks I was on the gym at 4:00am (my only time possible) with a couple people around. Perfect for the circuits and bi series of workout talking about the machines and everything. That's impossible in the weekdays on rush hours. Everyone knows that the workouts it's different for each person so I think some people have different needs including to reach their goals muscle gain, losing weight etc. That's why the 24 hours could works too and with less people around it's safer than the rush hours. I'm thinking to going today and cancel my membership and going to another one with the 24/7 hours service. Anyway I'm a simple person who lose 40 kgs 12 years ago trying to keep and maintain his weight. My two cents.

Would give three stars, but they're very slow with maintenance, and the change rooms are a bit dirtier than I'd expect. One of the reasons I signed up for this gym is the sauna. The men's sauna's been broken and there's no sign they'll fix it. My girlfriend also uses the sauna in the women's change room and it's been faulty for several months (doesn't get hotter than 60 ish degrees). They even have a sign up that says they're looking into it, but no solutions. A sauna should be between 85-95 celsius to see health benefits, otherwise you gotta sit in there forever. The showers are nice, but I can see grime building up on the floors and hoping I don't eventually get some sort of foot fungus. The towels are a nice perk, but they're not very good quality. They just move the water around my body when I'm drying off.

Too crowded, low standard for cleanliness and hygiene, limited option for equipments, poor maintenance. The club just doesn’t care about anything but money. The place is always full, even at midnight! Sometimes all I can do here is walking around and seeing all the machines are occupied. Such a waste of money!

This gym location is very convenient for me. Comparing other gyms in this neighborhood, it has a wide variety of equipment. Due to covid restrictions only 50 people are allowed per session. Each session is one hour. There is a line up of registered members before the gym. It takes 5 minutes to enter into the gym. If you did not book in advance there is another line, this line is for no show or cancelation spots. With Good life app you can book your workout session. It's hard to get a spot if you not planned at least 3 days in advance. Once you enter the gym you will be left with 55 minutes to complete your workout. Most of the gym users are responsible, almost every disinfect the workout equipment. Most of the people have a habit of checking weight before and after workout. Unfortunately there is no weighing machine in the gym. Over all Its ok

Exemplary staff member: I came to a piece of equipment and the previous guy didn't wipe it down, despite COVID-19 policies. Honestly, I expected that sometimes, and I would've just wiped it myself. One staff saw this, and set the example by making this person come back and wipe it down. Couldn't ask for better diligence!

My husband and I used to go to Goodlife Metrotown for more than a year. We had such a negative and stressful experience when we requested to freeze the membership: 1. I was pregnant, and as it was a risky pregnancy, I asked to freeze my membership. The staff member on the phone was very helpful and informed me that THEY WOULD CALL ME BEFORE I would be charged, close to the end of the period of freeze. I thought that it would be nice. They didn't call me and I WAS CHARGED even though I was unable to practice any physical activity. I called them to inform about what was agreed (what the employee had told me), they said that no one would call me. It is not the client's fault the training structure they offer to their employees.I didn't receive any refund, even I saying that I could send them the doctor's note. 2. Then, with a newborn at home, I requested the freeze again in a different period, and 2 days later, I WAS CHARGED. This is unacceptable. It is no the customer problem how is the financial dynamic of the company. We didn't receive the refund! Finally, we requested to cancel the membership and also because we moved to Calgary. The staff member said that they need 30 days notice - what wasn't informed to us when we signed up. We said that we wanted to cancel right away and we also requested our refund for what we were charged on the 2nd time. The lady said that she would cancel it but the refund could not be made. At the end of the day, we basically paid the 30 days notice with the money that we should receive as a refund (for the 2nd inappropriate charge). We feel extremely harmed by this company, we feel that we were charged inappropriately. This is a company that cannot be trusted and that does not treat its customers honestly. If you want to avoid headaches, avoid GoodLife Fitness.

Very inappropriate policies that do NOT foster customer loyalty. Burned for over $100 because their billing system took money from my account while on membership freeze which was in place since March 2020 due to COVID. The funds were withdrawn in June 2021 which is the same time that an employee said the freeze started and also the same time of a freeze extension. It seems like a system error happened when the freeze extended. Anyways, admitting to the error, head office instead of crediting back the money added free gym time only (per their policy). Head office stands by this and won't move on refunding the funds. Managers at the gym level have no authority or power about it either so it is a long drawn out process when dealing with billing issues, which in the end seems you will end up losing anyways. Disappointing and now out $100 for no services used but in the end they have now lost 5 customers (family tied to the account). Maybe they make more money from ripping people off with their policies than keeping long term customers through good business practices. Personally we do not feel safe yet to visit gyms with COVID so our memberships will be canceled and I guess we won't be back.

Location is the king here. The machines are in good conditions. More number of sanitisation stations are required. Sauna has been in maintenance for a quite a long time. Better the authority close it. The gym could have been planned in a better way, to accommodate more stretching and free body workout area. Gym looks pretty full in busy hours, even without using all the corners of the facility.

For how much I pay to be at this gym, the women’s section seems disregarded and is pretty small. I wish they would take out some of the extra cardio machines that aren’t used often and replace it with an actual barbell rack. The women’s section is there to make us feel more comfortable but there isn’t even a rack where I can squat or bench. It also tends to be less busy than the main section of the gym, so I enjoy working out there, but the lack of equipment sucks. The only thing present is a smith machine which I don’t prefer over a rack. Also wish a lat pull down machine was there. The northgate location is a lot nicer, unfortunately, metro is the closest to me.

I am still a member and will go there, love the staff super friendly its very clean and sanitized , but a few things is, its small compare to their Northgate location so its more cramped and always busy ! we usually go after 10:30 pm so we can use the machines! For nearly a month they didn’t have music! Which is ironic! Its like going to a club or bar without music. And the last is people bring their gym bags in with them which makes it unprofessional and messy compare to the nice set it has .

I had a great experience with a trainer here. Trainer asked for my workout goal and time frame, constructed a solid work out routine, along with many knowledgeable fitness tips during the sessions. Trainer does not waste time on any routines that I do not prefer. Each workout session was great, fun and fried from him pushing the max out of me. Really recommend Joseph the trainer here. Solid guy. Gym itself is great. Lots of facilities. But may get crowded during rush hours.

Great gym. Lots of space and equipment. Tons of cardio equipment and different weight machines and free weights. Dumbbells up to 100lbs. Multiple squat racks and deadlift platforms. Very clean and staff are very friendly. The locker rooms are more like a hotels with shampoo and body wash in each shower stall. Has a co-ed main gym as well as a womens only seperate section accessed through the womens locker room. Massive spin class room and even bigger room with a screen for group fitness and yoga classes. And a great location a block from Metrotown mall and a couple blocks from the skytrain station. And very affordable in terms of memberships

This gym / location could be great. 1. Go back to 24 hours. Permanently! When the gyms first reopened after its closure last year, the 6 am - 11 pm schedule didn’t seem bad. Now that everything has gone back to “”normal”” there should be no excuse. I wish I could go the gym at 6 am, but my work schedule doesn’t allow me too. Therefore I’m playing the waiting game with all the young kids in the evening.. Like no I dont want to wait 30 minutes for a squat rack to free up, because they are busy socializing in a group. 2. Most of the staff at the front desk aren’t very welcoming. They lack customer service skills. It seems like they pick and choose who they want to help - you work in a customer service role do your damn job. BE WELCOMING & FRIENDLY TO EVERYONE! 3. Overall cleanliness is starting to lack. Equipment looks disgusting. Also, as the day progresses the staff seem not to care about the upkeep of paper towel and spray bottles available. The bathroom also bathroom/change rooms start to look dingy! I hope yall get it together quick, because I would hate to cancel my membership.

Haven't used the parking yet, but I see there is parking validation which is great. Gym has been clean and a lot of equipment with decent space between them. It is busy after working hours up until before they close so be wary you will have to wait for some weights and machines. Try to come during off hours and you'll get through your workout quicker.

The best gym in Bc . Space is big so you can always find space between others . The facilities are great . Staffs are very friendly... Only one thing sometimes happens pretty annoying that the weights lifting area is a bit noisy . Some young members dropped the heavy weights very fast so made a huge noise which mostly women don’t like it and I guess some new beginners are not like this too . Hope the manage can notice this to improve. Grateful . 🙏🙏🙏❤️
