2021 fall: I got kicked out for wearing jeans, apparently it damages the equipment. Only my hands had touch equipment that day, I was doing pull up's and the pulley cable machine. I've worn jeans to the gym for years, especially after my causal off 2018: ive used it a few times in my 2 semesters at SFU. By no means am I happy being forced to pay for this. if i used it, i'd still be unhappy given its hot, stinky and full at ideal times. ive got a much better gym in my apartment building. all students a being forced to pay for a serves "few" (by percent of total students) use, not to mention the terrible condition.

Has SFU seen the locker rooms & the respective washrooms in this building? Especially the appalling swimming pool locker room. Thought I was using a washroom somewhere in DTES. I wonder where all this international student tuition money goes to 🤌

I really like the selection of equipment. But that's about it. My biggest issue was the women's change rooms. They were dirty beyond belief. I understand dirty floors as people are coming in and out from outside but the showers had dirt everywhere. There was also no proper lighting in the shower area either, there were simply strings of construction lighting hanging up (not even all lit.) I am aware that they are doing construction on the pool however an area where we are showering & changing should be kept clean. The change rooms were an awful first impression as a new drop in member.

As far as university gyms go, this one is huge! Great selection of equipment and the staff are super friendly. It's a nice place to get away for a brain break and it's just one of the many amazing amenities offered by the school. Students don't realize it's free to use so take advantage of it!

All the basic free weights plus a variety of well maintained heavy duty machines (mostly Paramount). Clean, and usually an instructor available. Gym etiquette is better than at most gyms I've used. 20% off for SFU community residents. VERY AFFORDABLE. It's gotten pretty busy since the beginning of September when students return in numbers, but still a good place to work out.

This gym is quite good. Large with two storeys. It's good that they have women's hours. There is sufficient equipment to have a good exercise. Although it can get rather crowded during peak hours, going early in the day is advised.

I got stopped by one of the staff here and was asked if I was a student at SFU. When I replied yes, they were like: "mmm, I don't think so".

The variety of equipments are average but i guess compared to the quantity of the equipments and the space its good. Its neat.

The gym itself is decent, locker rooms are horrible. None of the bathrooms have locks (and haven't had since 2019 when I started), very dirty, no privacy.

Great gym with a lot of equipment. Service better now that it's walk in and not a booking system anymore

Lots of barbells and free weights. Helpful and friendly staff, great group of regulars. Equipment is aging, however, and the music is hit or miss.

This is a pretty good gym. It’s big with 2 floors. They have women’s hours which is nice. Plenty of equipment to get a good workout in. Can get quite busy however during peak times would recommend going in the morning hours.

Doesn't have super brand new and nice equipment but it has everything you need for a good workout. You probably have to work into people's sets though as it gets a little crowded and cluttered in the mid-afternoon. I recommend going in the morning!
