While
this
restaurant
is
very
aesthetic,
I
would
not
recommend
it.
As
a
former
server,
I
understand
the
challenges
that
come
with
a
busy
weekend,
yet
the
attention
to
detail
exhibited
by
the
staff
fell
short
of
expectations.
The
overall
quality
of
the
food
was
good
(or
so
I
was
told),
although
I,
being
someone
with
celiac
disease,
faced
a
disappointing
lack
of
options.
Regrettably,
I
could
only
settle
for
a
plain
latte,
and
to
my
surprise,
even
their
syrups
contained
gluten—an
oversight
the
server
failed
to
recognize.
In
a
country
like
Canada
where
gluten,
nuts,
milk,
and
eggs
are
prevalent
allergens,
it
is
important
for
servers
to
be
well-versed
in
identifying
and
communicating
potential
allergens
in
the
menu
items
(the
syrups
have
gluten
and
milk).
Unfortunately,
my
server
seemed
unaware
of
gluten
and
left
me
to
double-check
the
label
myself,
discovering
the
gluten
content
just
minutes
before
consuming
the
drink.
(You
have
to
pick
up
your
drink
at
the
bar,
and
they
had
all
the
syrups
lined
up,
so
I
was
able
to
check
for
myself
because
she
seemed
not
to
know
what
gluten
was.)
Aside
from
the
limited
(by
limited
I
mean
none)
options
for
individuals
with
dietary
restrictions
and
the
server's
lack
of
allergen
awareness,
the
cleanliness
of
the
utensils
was
concerning.
Having
worked
in
the
service
industry,
I
couldn't
help
but
notice
that
the
cutlery
appeared
unclean
and
potentially
reused.
It
wasn't
just
a
bit
of
food;
even
the
napkins
that
came
with
the
cutlery
were
dirty.
Despite
the
restaurant's
aesthetic
charm,
it
leans
towards
the
higher
end
in
terms
of
pricing.
Even
forgetting
the
allergen
issues
only
with
the
cleanliness
concerns,
I
cannot
recommend
this
establishment,
whether
for
those
with
allergies
or
without.
