This is a perfect experience. We was visited them at their brunch time, and we luckily meet the sunny day so we can enjoy those beautiful and delicious food with wonderful view. Sorry I forgot the name of my order, but I remember it tastes so good that I almost lost my mind. If you never been there before, strongly recommend this perfect place for you.

I was captivated by Everything! From the heritage style architecture amonst the entrance way, or the outdoor scenery overlooking Deer lake. More importantly the food was great! Presentation and taste was cooked to perfection. Staff are friendly and pleasant. Definitely happy I came to the Heart House in Dearlake park, Burnaby. I recommend taking the time to appreciate this fine experience.

A restaurant located in a spacious green park with beautiful lake views. Their food was overall quite nice. Beautifully plated with attention to detail. The fish was a bit overcooked and bland with an unpleasant fishy taste but everything else was pretty tasty and was a good meal experience.

Celebrated an anniversary here and enjoyed the experience overall. The squid was the highlight followed by the arancini appetizer; I only wish there was more squid on the plate! The lamb shank was fall off the bone and tender, but the halibut was a little bit dry/overcooked. The accompaniments on the mains were lovely though, and overall the dining experience was very enjoyable.

If you've never been, you should give it a try. It is a very solid experience. Boundaries aren't being pushed, is not exotic, but it's a fabulous venue with great service, and great food. Great for a birthday, anniversary, or just because.

I had a lovely dinner here with friends who surprised me as part of a special occasion. The location is great nestled in a quiet area near Burnaby Lake. We were seated in a bright atrium area with lots of natural light and views out onto the green space and lake area. I started things off with a local beer (or two) and had the Grilled Humboldt Squid ($24) as a starter and the Confit Haida Gwaii Halibut ($42) for the main. Both dished were cooked perfectly and tasted great. Dessert was shared with my wife. Service was good and overall it was a very nice surprise and dinner. While the pricing would not be considered as great "value", what you do experience is great food, good service in a nice setting. Definitely a unique option for upscale dining in Burnaby.

Beautiful place to have a good meal! Their $6 bread was fresh and warm and came with delicious butter. For mains, We ordered the Pea Risotto, burger, and the clams pasta. They were all very tasty and had great flavors to them. I definitely recommend getting the truffle fries as a side to share. Service was great and the ambiance was beautiful. We got to watch a wedding that was happening in their garden area. My only complaint is that there isnโ€™t a lot of vegetarian options for dinner. Other than the risotto, there was a vegan soup of the day.

Absolutely delicious and amazing food and service. This was my first time going to Hart House! What a beautiful restaurant in a park setting. We were greeted as soon as we walked inside. It was absolutely stunning and cozy in the restaurant. We loved sitting at a table where there was a wedding happening across the field in the gazebo. There was a lot of privacy as no one else was there. The server told us it was the first night they were serving their new menu and there was a great selection. We started with apprizers. The salad was perfectly made. For the main course we had Lamb that fell off the bone and tasted amazing. The spaghetti was delicious too. For dessert was had sorbet which was a perfect compliment of flavours. We are looking forward to celebrating another occasion at the Hart House restaurant soon!

We only came here out of convenience because it was the only restaurant near deer lake. Itโ€™s not a bad place, but definitely was โ€œhigher endโ€ in terms of the price and the way the restaurant looks. Itโ€™s a pleasant and clean place with some nice menu items, but itโ€™s a pretty small menu. The food was good, but we wouldnโ€™t say it was worth the price or the amount of food that was given. We ordered 2 vegetable risottos ($26 for one order), a harthouse burger ($26), shoestring frites ($6, forgot to take a picture), a Tagliatelle Cacio E Pepe ($22), a Basque Country cheesecake ($12, we forgot to take a picture), and some baguette dish that I forgot the name of. That being said, the staff were nice, the food was alright, and itโ€™s a very pricey place.

My wife and I chose the Hart House Restaurant for our wedding venue in May 2023. It was absolutely stunning - like a dream that came true! The location is absolutely gorgeous with the view of the lake and the greenery around it. The tent they set up is sophisticated and welcoming at the same time. The food and service were outstanding! We went for the Deer Lake Buffet option and our guests loved it! Sonja helped us utilize the tent to add cultural and entertainment spaces. The staff were courteous, helpful and friendly. We strongly recommend the Hart House Restaurant as a wedding venue that encompasses the natural beauty of Greater Vancouver, sophistication, quality and great service! A special thank you to Sonja for helping us out from beginning to end!

Appetizers and mains were well prepared although Carbonara was a touch on the salty side. The appetizer scallop dish had three smaller than expected scallops, which they informed us about, although it would have been nicer to have a fourth. I also expected a bit more from the cocktails for the price. Otherwise, great location, calm atmosphere and friendly service! 4.5

I decided to have a smaller wedding dinner reception and reached out to the Hart House. It was meant to be when my day was available and from the first email exchanges with Sonja I knew it was the perfect match! She was attentive and patient with my questions and many changes and never hesitated to help. The day arrived and everything was absolutely amazing! The staff, service and food exceeded every expectation and my wedding reception dinner was unforgettable! Thank you Sonja, Genevieve and Hart House staff. We cannot wait to come back again!

A hidden gem in Burnaby, Deer Lake area. It was my first time at this restaurant and I will definitely be returning. The view of Deer Lake, soft background music friendly staff make the dining experience a real treat!

The 4 stars are more towards 4.25s. The restaurant is in a heritage building that was built in 1912 (if I remember it correctly). We are there for Valentines Day, so we had a special 5 course set dinner. The food quality was great, very yummy, but there's always one particular ingredient that doesn't go with the rest. For example, the use of squash with the 30 days aged steak doesn't go well together. The food portion was very generous. We were very full walking out the door. The server was polite and on top of everything, but somehow there's something feeling off about how we communicated where I wasn't able to pin point what's wrong. It was pretty good and it was my wife's first time being there, but there's no wow factor to give it a 5 star experience. I hope it helps. Sorry Hart House if I am being too harsh on my rating.

The food tastes decent, the service is good, the prices are a bit on the expensive side. The patio provides a serene view overlooking Deer Lake, which creates a truly relaxing atmosphere. Moreover, the establishment welcomes dogs, making it a dog-friendly place to visit

The food is pricey but I am very sorry to say that it was really nothing to shout about. The look and location of this restaurant is so quaint and has a lovely European feel. On entering, the musty smell of the carpet or whatever kinda hit me in the face and that is something they should be aware of. So outdoors was the seating of choice today. Had to stare at a huge temporary tent that has blocked out some of the lake view. Hopefully that will not stay too long, though it did seem like it was kept there for special events. The portion is very small for the price (30 cad) and I had ordered the mussels and clams and the crab eggs benny came with fried potatoes and very little crab. I was expecting the eggs to sit on a crab cake for 30 bucks, but it was on a muffin smeared with 2 teaspoons of crab meat with some creamy paste. Taste was mehhh, but as always I take great photos of my dishes like most Asians do as a compliment to the chef's art.

Delicious food, awesome service, they have coat check, lovely location right on the lake. The staff was super friendly too.

Great brunch at Hart House. They were able to seat us without a reservation. The view of the lake was breathtaking and the food was awesome. Had the duck confit and the crab benny, and rather than a traditional dessert, opted for the French toast. Now Iโ€™ve gotta walk off this brunch at the lake!!

Beautiful place, nice to eat at the patio. The dishes were good, but the pasta was a little bit salty.

Great location, great for brunch or just get togethers. Food is really tasty and portions are very decent (medium to large). The location is beautiful, specially if youโ€™re seated near the windows with a view of the lake. Staff is quite friendly, so youโ€™ll will have a great time :)

From walking in the front door to leaving the restaurant, everything was immaculate! The restaurant was cozy and beautiful, server was absolutely amazing, and the food was to die for! 100% would recommend this restaurant, especially for a special night out! Our server Gabrielle was absolutely amazing! She was so helpful, and very knowledgeable about the menu. She answered all of our questions with no problem. She was also very attentive, but never over-attentive, which is a very hard balance to achieve. On top of that she made my husband and I so comfortable, even though we had never been for such a nice dinner. The food and experience were amazing, but it was her that our evening unforgettable!

Upon entering the restaurant, it felt akin to stepping into a luxurious hotel. The ambiance unquestionably deserves a 5-star rating. I was seated by the window, providing a splendid view of Deer Lake. The food was exceptional, and the staff exhibited a high level of professionalism in explaining the menu. I am convinced that this place would be an excellent choice for special occasions.

Wonderful restaurant with lovely interiors and food. Very good service with a delightful pause between courses. Highly recommend! (Not the best photos, but it really was lovely)

Very nice place, cozy atmosphere, great services. Food was ok. Grilled vegetable was fresh and sweet. Mussel meat was small. I wish they would have toasted the bun for the lobster roll.
