My wife and I planned to get married on August 2nd 2020. We booked 1 year in advance and gave Newlands a total of $4000 to book our spot for our wedding. We went through all the hoops. Flower selection, decor, the music with our DJ, and our photographer. Everything was set. As soon as covid hit, Newlands called and said we would have to move our wedding further ahead, plus we would also have to pay a new deposit. We said we would take them to court cause they already had $4000 of our money. We ended up losing $2500 with a partial return. Please do your research, If anything goes wrong at this venue, you will have to cover it, or hire a lawyer.

Terrific service from the wonderfully efficient and professional staff. We felt cared for the entire time. One staff even asked if she can provide fresh napkins after we made a mess with our delicious Seafood Platter. Their managers were also very attentive to offer fresh salad when the restaurant experience a minor electrical power interruption. Thumbs up for the wonderful team at Earls Brentwood!

PLEASE order pork ribs! Don't forget to order a full size. Your tummy will thank me. The pork ribs taste amazing. Well marinated, soft and tender. Much better than many other places including Memphis or Butchers. My picky eater toddler finished at least half by herself. We will go back for pork ribs soon. Another must-try is watermelon slush. Very refreshing and fruity. Well represent the taste of summer. We ordered tenderloin with lobster tail for our entree. The kitchen canceled our lobster as the quality did not meet their standards. We were pretty full at that point so canceling lobster was totally fine but the lounge manager and the restaurant manager took the steak from our bills. They really did not have to do that, but they went beyond customer service expectations. My server was also excellent. During our visit, a couple of staff walked around, came to check in each table and asked if we need anything else.

Came here for a birthday celebration, left with food poisoning. Tried the chef’s special, raw chicken briyani. Food came out lukewarm, rice was dry and unflavourful, and the chicken was nice and chewy. At first we thought we were chewing chicken fat, or skin, but on further examination, the chicken was raw. The waitress initially offered to replace the meal, then the manager on duty and Sous chef came out to apologise, which was nice of them, but if the kitchen can’t even get chicken done right to palatable standards, we decided other food there probably wouldn’t be done properly and decided to leave. To be fair, the restaurant offered to cover whatever we previously ordered, so the customer service was good. Everything else, not so. Very disappointed and it boggles my mind how such a popular establishment can overlook even the basic cooking standards. Wouldn’t recommend visiting here again.

I went to Earls with my friend for a little bite and chat, our table was cozy and the crowd didn’t make any trouble for our privacy and space; The food was fresh and delicious ( but not so much creative ) I can say that drinks was amazing specially Irish coffee. Staff was friendly and caring making a great atmosphere

Went to the Sunday Buffet for the first time after start of the Pandemic. Buffet was set up really nice behind glass and I felt very safe. Tables spaced out and staff super friendly! BUT there is a small staff area between the tables and the buffet that is designed so poorly!! All guests must walk thru this narrow opening to go get food then come back and its at max three people wide and always full of 2-3 staff working and people walking thru trying their best to social distance. Please relocate this staff work area temporarily. I know guests will appreciate it.

So I forgot how big this earls was. Thanksgiving was spent here this year. No regrets! We had a great meal of burgers and ceasar salads... Yum Our servers were so polite and we just could stop starring at the new ipads with card readers. Place your order pay your bill in one spot. Brilliant. We will be back.

This is one of best earls locations that have been to. Food option is always consistent when you go but service here is absolutely amazing. Everyone so welcoming and warm. I used to work a block away from here many years ago and they have the exact same service since then. Patio is great here, food as i said is top notch.. definitely recommend it

Came here for a work lunch and were very happy with the food and service. The drink menu is one of the best, with so many unique and delicious options. I also enjoyed my steak and sushi combo. Our table consistently had our drinks refilled and orders taken and brought to us promptly. Would definitely return any time I’m looking for lunch with a large group.

Nice cosy place with courteous staff. The service was quick and the food was yummy. They presented a nice card with a note as it was my birthday. The place has ample parking space and has multiple seating options i.e. dining room, patio and high tables near the bar. It is usually busy so would recommend a reservation to avoid waiting.

Cool spot at Brentwood that’s similar yet different to the other Earl’s out there. It’s much newer and brighter, and there’s definitely a lot more people who come here. It’s good for casual dining, business lunches, and good for the family as well. The seafood tower is big, but I would say for the price point, there are better ones out there. You do get a large variety though. They have great fries and side dishes though, so we come here more for drinks and snacks than a full meal. Good spot to relax if you’re in the area and need a place to chill. The only other comment I have is for whatever reason, there’s a ton of fungus gnats or fruit flies around. I think some of their plants may be infested.

Love this restaurant and location!! Best food and service!! Our server was Rachel and she went above and beyond and was very attentive and made great food recommendations. I love everything we ordered! We were a party of 5 and she was patient and took care of all our needs. A gentleman named Barsam was also looking after us. Really professional, friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend this location.

This location of Earls is out of this world. I love everything from wings to burgers to pastas. The best is the new double cheese burger & fries. Their service is out of this world from Manager Furnadose, assistant manager Kelly, server Anthoney is a real sweet heart. Very friendly,so curtious, so respectful, honest, quick to help, véry passionate. Mom & I had gone in to have a light bite to eat, but once he had an idea that in 3 day we would be celebrating my 54th birthday. He went out of his to serve me a birthday desert with lots ice cream,'wipping cream, a nice mint leaf & the hottest sticky toffee pudding that just took my breath away.

Had their buffet dinner twice; this second time during covid, and they prepare your plate behind a glass. Their staff are efficient and practiced safe distancing and sanitation. There were lots of food varieties for the seafood buffet ($27/pp). Ample space between seatings that you can enjoy your space and the views comfortably. Maybe because we came later in the evening, but some of the dishes didn't seem fresh. I wonder if some of the seafood came from frozen because some of the flavors were bland and the crab was okay.

I'm not going to post photos as they are very personal ones from a small wedding I attended. There are lots of pictures readily available for you to check out this BEAUTIFUL venue! In the midst of this Pandemic my heartfelt thanks goes out to Newlands for maintaining all the safety protocols in place to guard our health yet still be personalable, friendly and highly attentive to the bride, groom and guests! The food (served from behind a full plexiglass partition between staff and guests) was superb in my opinion! The venue was elegant AND spotless. The wedding coordinator did a fabulous job of listening to and incorporating the wishes of the bride and groom. I would definitely recommend Newlands for a variety of different events where you want a tasteful venue and great professional people to help you pull it all together!

I normally go to earls and love their fettucine, however on Friday it was not good. The pasta was not cooked throughout, and there was no sauce it was just pure oil. There was no flavour on the pasta at all, it was not good. 3 stars because our server was amazing, food was very disappointing.

All I have to say is that they have really upped their happy hour game. This is the Ahi tuna bowl and the Shroomami bowl. While these still come in at about $20 each it is much more reasonable than their original prices in my opinion. They also have a seafood platter for their happy hour which is $50 and that also looked really delicious. This location has a nice outdoor seating and indoor so make sure when you reserve to specify where you would like to sit. The staff are nice and make your dining experience well taken care of.

Ordered steak at medium, came in more towards medium well. Friend ordered virgin Margherita and it came with alcohol. She drank it not knowing it had alcohol, got drunk and couldn't drive home.

I'm guessing it's an earls issue as a whole and not isolated to this location but this dish is terrible compared to how I remember it. First the Chicken, the pieces are very small and dry as dirt. You can tell it's previously cooked and over cooked at that and then it's reheated when the dish is put together which makes it worse. The Sauce, very oily and little as far as distinct flavors aside from saltiness. Vegetables are salty, very salty. Noodles are so so. This taste like something out of the frozen food section at the grocery store for 8-10$ at most....not worth the price they are charging. It was delivery yes but only at around 15 or so minutes from being completed to being consumed and that isn't the issue with this dish. This is only one person's opinion, but I will be staying away from Earls if this is where the quality has gone.

Disappointed with my $28.09 vegan impossible burger. Dry bun, raw and cold red onions, subpar fries. For a nearly $30 dish, I would've expected more. Toasting the bun, sautéing the onions, adding more vegan mayonnaise, or double frying the fries for an added crisp would have enhanced the dish. The impossible patty itself was the only redeeming part of the meal. I had also asked for them not to include the mustard, and it arrived with mustard within the burger anyways. Would not return for or recommend this burger. Others in my group had dishes on the brunch happy hour menu which is the more affordable option if you dine in within the time period (around $16). However, for those with dietary restrictions, there are limited options. One person in our group had to ask for her eggs to be prepared again, as the consistency was very hard (and not medium as requested). Our server was kind and attentive, but there were issues with the food and communication with the kitchen. We went for brunch at 10 am before it was busy so the atmosphere was not too loud. They have a beautiful interior.

Brentwood’s Earl’s offers a refreshing and newer ambiance, distinct from other locations. The vibrant atmosphere attracts a considerable crowd, making it suitable for casual dining and family outings. The first time I visited Earls with my partner. We always have the truffle fries to start followed by mains. The taste of chicken sandwiches was amazing. Their dessert were are also delicious. We experienced exceptional service. The waitress took the time to understand our preferences, recommending dishes that perfectly suited us. We really enjoyed our dinner.

Its located in a nice and convenient place for a lunch/ dinner get-together. Very noisy/loud music during the afternoon. hard to hear ppl talking next to you. I ordered chum Chicken with a nice spicy flavor. what I wanted is spicy food and what I got in my plate was a few red chilies kept on the top of the dish as seen in the pics, as if I was supposed to bring my grinder to grind the chilies and a stove to cook it to get the chilly flavor even before i can eat that. the kind of oil they used caused me stomach trouble and the worst part is I asked for food with spicy flavor but the added a sweet sauce to it, I don't know who will eat a spicy food with a taste of sugar, i believe they missed the main food with the dessert. the server was very nice and polite, but not happy with the cook. its pricy too, you are paying double here just because of the name and location. NOT RECOMMENDED.

I ordered two of these plates and a couple drinks they cost about $70 which is very pricey. But the quality of the lettuce wrap was a disappointing. Lettuce was dry, shredded veggie topping was not fresh. Also the pork rib was burnt really bad. Would have given 4stars if food quality was better.

We liked the food, the cocktails, and the service! It's definitely one of our favorite Earls restaurants. Their new Shrimp Pasta tasted really delicious and was not too greasy thanks God. The Old Fashioned was made very done! Highly recommend this place.

Food was so tasty. I took a risk and tried Lobster and Prawn Eggs Benny on the happy hour brunch menu. First taste that hit my tongue was butter. Then the prawn and lobster and then the smooth taste of soft poached egg mixed with the muffin. Brilliant! Thanks Earl's.

Ordered through Skip for a work lunch and got the Ahi Tuna Poke bowl. The order came quickly and was prepared very nicely and tasted amazing. The tuna was very tasty and not fishy, while the other components of the dish complemented everything nicely. Great experience, will definitely come back!

I ordered a medium rare steak and received a burnt well done steak through skip the dishes (wish they'd use uber haha much better) skip proceeded to offer me $5 credit then when I asked for a refund they said 50% refund is the best they can do to which I accepted politely.) However, I know if I was in person a steak this burnt would have been taken back immediately. Pretty disappointing. 3 stars because I'm sure I'd of received a new meal if I was there in person but I was trying to surprise my partner with a steak dinner at home.

The staff are in such good spirits. I called to check if happy hour was still offered, Mia said yes and was quite cute in the way she suggested to come see for myself. So we came. Service from Chloe was top notch. Pointing us to what she could see we were interested and guiding away from what we were not. It was the first time the husband and l ventured out for dinner, so glad we did.

Honestly, came here a month ago and sat on the bar lounge side and the service was AMAZING. Just came here today for happy hour again and got sat on the dinning room side. Service was quite honestly not good at all. Server was polite but basically non existent, she didn’t quality check anything. We would have ordered more drinks if she had actually been around to ask. Had to flag her down and maybe saw her 4 times the whole 2 ish hours we were there then we waited 20-30 minutes to see her again after the desert was dropped and had a manager come up and tell us we had to leave because they had a 2 hour limit...after we had wanted to leave already but were waiting for our server to show up again. Irritated and second guessing thinking this was one of my fav Earls...disappointed Earls...you have so many people on the floor and I manage a bar...I understand how it works and this was so bad...also unimpressed about basically being forced into a 16% tip...do better Earls...do better. Only positive is the food was as expected.

Came here with my buddy for lunch. Food was great, service was great. I would recommend coming here. Our server mentioned a program they had to welcome people back. So when we asked for our bill., he said the bill was already paid through this program. The servers get to pick a customer for this no pay program. Great idea to welcome people back. Well done. The program doesn’t include gratuities, so we obviously tipped him well

I still love the Sunday brunch here. There are so many choices, always a selection of eggs and breakfast foods, salads and of course, lunch. They always have lots to choose from. They have a fish and another sea food option, last week they had lamb and prime rib, and potatoes, rice and a few other options. During the pandemic they have glass barrier and the food on the inside. A staff member walks through the selections and fills your plate for you. Don't forget to leave room for the station where they make eggs or pasta to order because it's so tasty. And of course crepes to kick off the dessert portion. As usual, they have a large variety of cakes, desserts and squares for dessert

Awesome brunch buffet ! Probably one of the best buffet spots in the lower mainland . Good staff and service ! Good food ,omelette bar and desert table ! I would recommend this to anyone .the price point could be a little better and that is the reason for the 4 stars ! It is truly a good food experience

  • 1/5 Anne P. 3 years ago on Google
Terrible!!! The current covid set up is not working. We had to wait in a line for 30 minutes just to get a soggy waffle on our plate. With 2 young kids this is a disaster because you can't do 2 plates at 1 time so you have to go through the line twice or 3 times just to get food for the whole family. We were there 90 minutes and I literally ate 2 bites of food because the lineups were so long. If you aren't hungry and have 3 hours to eat gross brunch food this is the place to go. If you have kids or like good food, definitely don't go!

I played 3 rounds of golf there, it was a great course for the price you pay, it was the cheapest course around where I live, and I would say on a normal day, I would give it a 5 star. But, you better avoid going there after a rainy day, because last time I went there, it rained about 2 days ago, and the course was very muddy, there were some areas that I was slipping even when I was wearing golf cleats, they can definitely work on the drainage a bit, so on a wet day, I would give it a 3 star, so i give it the median of 4 star. I would recommend play there on a dry day, but avoid the wet days

I was very disappointed with the Thursday’s seafood buffet. The crab legs and the shrimp were still frozen when we try to eat them! My girlfriend was so upset that she left right away! Went to the pub for the first time ever for a friends Birthday last Friday night. I heard good things about Newlands from friends in the past, so I've been wanting to try it for awhile. There was music bingo, which was fun. However, the food and service was awful. The server took forever to come around to take food orders or to ask for refills etc... she was also, very rude and unfriendly. I could see if the place was busy, why she was slow to come around, but it was not busy at all. I felt sorry for my friend that chose to go here for her Birthday. A few of us ordered a club house sandwich with fries and gravy. I do not recommend ordering that. They use processed cheese and turkey. The gravy had so much salt in it, we could not eat it. I would have to say it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had...."ever" and I've eaten at alot of places. I would not recommend going here and would not go back.

I think the course could use some TLC, wish they'd give out carts past 3pm if I want to squeeze in a round after work. Overall, still a good price for a round of golf.

Great happy hour menu at good prices. I had the crispy prawn roll which was excellent. The red sangria wasn't great but they have a great assortment of drinks to choose from. Lovely service and good protocols in place. They scan your Vaccine Passport and check ID too....like that!

I really enjoyed our brunch at earls but service was not good. Our server didn't come to checkin for more coffee or water at our table.

We ordered the Turkey dinner to go for Thanksgiving. I was not sure what we would get as I have never done this before but thought we would give it a try. I heard that Earl's does a good one so why not. Well.... it was amazing. When we unpacked our bag everything was packed so nicely and looked really good. It was very easy to heat and wow the food was so good. The Turkey was moist and the stuffing, potatoes, veggies and gravy were awesome. The cranberry sauce seemed to be homemade too and was delicious. I can't not mention the Pumpkin Pie WOW! I have never had a more tasty Pumpkin Pie ever! The crust was absolutely amazing and I hear that they make them in house too. The best part was it was so easy to clean up and I was able to enjoy my evening with family rather than cooking and cleaning all night. I will surely be doing this again! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

The items we ordered were quite small, I was very surprised. The salad was half the size as youd get in the restaurant. I've added a picture. The chicken tacos were extremely small too. I think they give much smaller portions on takeout

Amazing restaurant with variety of options. I went there couple of times to have business lunches, and they always exceed my expectations with their high service and quality 👌🏻 Nice vibe inside and comfortable seats for outside patio. My favorite dish is Mother Earth Bowl, very fulfilling & tasty salad. Highly recommend this place

Yet another good experience at an Earls. Cajun chicken Alfredo was lovely! Service was also nice and courteous. What I like about Earls is you get consistently good service and food at all of its locations (at least the 6-7 I have tried!). Some locations are prettier than others though. This Earls is more like a neighborhood favorite. There’s plenty of free parking available and patio is decent.

Pretty good selection for happy hour but it can be noisy here when it gets full, making it difficult sometimes to have a good conversation. Food was good, but perhaps a bit too salty.

Ordered this Bacon Cheddar burger from SkipTheDishes at 50% off. I mean what a value along with keeping the quality of food intact. The juicy and tasty burger, not forgetting the fries(with condiments) all well packed and made to look that’ll impress you right away. Restaurant sort of experience while sitting at home and watching your favourite TV series, made my evening. Can’t wait to visit this location in person. One thing they can improve - Please replace the use of staple pins while packing the TO GO bag with stickers or something better. Amazing food experience, thanks to the Earls Lougheed team. 👏🏻

Earls is earls. It is a nice restaurant with good food at a reasonable prices. What ruins the experience for me are the big tvs all over the place. It could be a very charming restaurant with a cozy vibe but the tvs ruins the rest of the restaurant as it has got nice furniture and decoration. So it is a restaurant/pub.

Seafood platter. The seafood was fresh and tasty. Oysters were on the small side but it was sweet. We had this during happy hour and I think that's a good price for the food.

I came here with my family to celebrate our anniversary. In the online booking I selected celebrating an anniversary and also made a note that we would have our young child with us and requested a table away from high traffic. We were seated at the very first table by the entrance in a high traffic area. Our server wishes us a happy anniversary during our payment. I wonder if the online notes were even seen? It would have been nice to have been seated somewhere less busy as requested. Aside from that I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

Our servers were great! We made a reservation, but it was almost 30 minutes after our reserved time that we finally sat down. Walk-ins were told it’d be a 45 minute wait, so I guess making a reservation helps a little (?). The hostesses barely looked up when I gave our reservation info and they didn’t tell me if they would call out my name, find me, text me, or how long the wait would be. It seemed like we wouldn’t be seated. The atmosphere is very loud - music is blasted so everyone is shouting to talk to each other. I’d recommend you sit outside so you can hear the other people you come with. The food was okay - we could tell the salmon was previously frozen because there was a lot of water in the middle when you’d cut it and take a bite. The crab cake had a lot of veggies and shrimp in it. I’d recommend just going for happy hour.

We went for dinner to Earls Brentwood for a special occasion. Our server was very pleasant. She provided us timely service and the food came in a timely manner. The portions were right and the taste was great. The lettuce wrap is always a great option and the seafood platter was fabulous!! you will never regret in ordering it.

Beautifully plated and simply delicious Eggs Benny! I was greeted and seated with a smile in a place of my choice. Dan my server was a sweetheart! I will be back. The atmosphere and location is awesome!🙂

Snagged a table right before happy hour ended. Enjoyed our servers recommendation of the kale and mushroom pizza ($16) - great value. Truffle fries ($10) were a classic choice and solid. Ahi tuna poke bowl ($21) was just okay - probably won’t order again. Rice wasn’t very good but toppings were fine.

I was at Earls for the first time. The food was delicious, we ate BBQ ribs and a steak. The interior is nice, the service was good. But what struck me most is the dirty glasses on our table. They were finger printed all over, later on I realized why! Because the hostess (I don’t want to say about all the staff) was simply taking glasses with her index fingers inside the glasses and put them on the tables. That’s disgusting and absolutely unsanitary

The ambience is distinctive in a good way. I always have the truffle fries to start followed by mains. I have been here couple of times and I ordered their surf and turf (sirlion + lobster tail) which was amazing and was presented in a eye catchy way and the other time I had steak(filet) + prawns and mash with seasonal veggies for mains and are cooked to my liking and they tasted amazing. Their cocktails are also nice. I also tried their corn and avocado dip with chips which tasted spectacular. A good hangout spot in the area. Special mention to the staff who provide amazing service every time.

The first time I visited Earls, it was with my siblings. While the service left much to be desired - it felt rather prolonged, and we had to repeatedly ask for recommendations - the food truly shone. The dishes were not only delicious but also artfully presented. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors. My second visit was with my husband, celebrating our anniversary. This time around, we were treated to exceptional service. Our waitress took the time to understand our tastes and preferences, recommending dishes that perfectly suited us. She even went the extra mile to explain each word in detail, ensuring we knew exactly what to expect. Her expertise didn't stop there, she expertly guided us to a delightful white wine that wasn't overly sweet - it quickly became a favorite of mine. However, I regret not remembering her name. (But if the management sees this review, she really loves the wine "Bread & Butter") In conclusion, my experiences at Earls have been a mixed bag in terms of service, but the food has consistently impressed me. Whether it's beautifully presented plates bursting with flavor or attentive service and expert wine recommendations, something special can be found here.

Spent the night with my wife celebrating our 1st year anniversary at the Earl's location in Brentwood. Amazing service all around. They had a card for us made and the servers Shannon and Marissa exceeded our expectations. Will definitely be back! Delicious food and personable servers with great attitude are the best recipe. 10/10.
