There's many good sushi restaurants in Burnaby and this is another one. Nothing I had was amazing but was good value and good flavour. I was nervous getting one of the box dinners as there's a few things I know I don't like and it listed chef's choice. My friend got it and I would try it if I go here again. It had multiple cuts of salmon and tuna nigiri, as well as some other fish. I tried the Boston roll Maki, stuffed inari, and saba nigiri. I'd never heard of a Boston before and liked it; lots of crunch. The Inari pocket with ceab meat was huge; I took 4 big bites to eat it. The saba was lightly picked. I enjoy a strong pickled flavour; this was nice too.

Nice neighborhood sushi restaurant. Menu offers a variety of cooked and raw items. Fresh ingredients (no fishy smell/taste) but do not expect super high quality sushi or sashimi. Sushi rice is a bit hard and not much vinegar taste. Overall a decent affordable place.

After sampling all the sushi restaurants in the area, I discovered that Sushi UOmo on Hastings St (Burnaby Heights) had the best sushi, so naturally, I became a regular. Even though I've been going there for years, I never got around to writing a Google review. Maybe it's because I wanted to keep this hidden gem to myself, but it's time to share the love. There's just something about Sushi UOmo that keeps me coming back, despite there being plenty of other sushi restaurants in the vicinity. The rolls are tightly packed, so they don't crumble when you try to eat them with chopsticks, which is a huge plus. Additionally, the balance of rice and ingredients is spot-on, and the flavors are well-seasoned. The tempura rolls and salmon rolls are my personal favorites and they never disappoint. Whether I'm dining with my family or grabbing takeout, Sushi UOmo always hits the spot. If you're in the mood for sushi tonight, I highly recommend giving them a try. It's surprising that this is my first Google review, given how much I've enjoyed eating there over the years. So take it from a seasoned regular and try out Sushi UOmo – you won't regret it!

Simple place but very good sushi fresh and delicious never disappointed, one of my favorite place in North Burnaby.

Friendly, quality service in a super clean little shop. All the fish was fantastic, especially the yellowtail and salmon belly. Really good prices, nigiri was huge.

A few of us hadn’t been here for awhile. The prices were decent considering the portions were big. They offer a couple of unique menu items such as the sashimi salad and sushi pizza. I liked the sushi pizza as it was sushi on top of crispy rice bottom. There are a few vegetarian options. For the entrees you can choose to have black or brown rice for an additional $2. It wasn’t until later that night that half of our group didn’t feel too great due to the sashimi they had. We won’t be back for awhile.

We ordered the volcano roll, spider roll and spicy chopped scallop roll plus beef tataki. One minor complaint was the spicy gochujang sauce on the chopped scallop roll was too overpowering. I could not taste the scallops at all…maybe add some mayo to the sauce so it’s less intense. Other than that, everything tasted fresh! The complimentary miso was a nice touch as well.

To be very honest, the best sushi 🍣 I have ever had! I have been to my share of sushi places, and I know that this place is the one I will keep coming to! The service is an amazing 10/10! The food is made fresh and with so much love, which you can tell while having it 💕 Much recommended 😊

Super expensive! The food is good, the quality is definitely there. For the price, I would expect bigger portions. This is a great local restaurant to come have sushi for sure, although the food here is great, it's difficult to visit often due to their price. It is a small restaurant; I would assume on weekends it could get a bit busy during peak hours. The service is good, you get half a bowl of miso soup when you first come into the restaurant. It’s a bit odd in the beginning though because on the menu it says miso soup has a price tag on it, so you may worry you will get charged, but you won’t. There is only one server really working there, I believe she's potentially the owner. Expect service to take time, she works hard and fast, but when the restaurant is busy, there aren't enough people going around to serve tables. The atmosphere and the layout of the restaurant are nice, it’s unique here. The restaurant is clean along with their utensils as well. The tables have dividers on them so that will provide some additional privacy and also for those who are concerned about covid.

Have lunch here the first time and the food are absolutely not fresh. I ordered a chirashi don and it was the worst chirashi don I had in Vancouver so far. The octopus and tuna had a slight sour taste. Rice was cold and leftover, in lumps. Never go back again. Not worth the money.

Great food at a reasonable price. This place seemed really popular with take out orders, but their dine in service was great! Great option if you're feeling like having a sushi night!

Pick up order for dinner. I like their various menu like surf clam, mackerel, squid, and hirame( it was sold out tho) not only Salmon and Tuna based sushi like most other Japanese restaurants have. It didn't upset my stomach, but the moment I opened the container, they smelled fishy. Taste of sushi was good. Only disappointed in Chopped scallop nigiri. They did not mention at online menu it was actually scallop with masago and mayo. No taste of scallop!!

Sushi Uomo has always been a personal favorite for sushi. The fish is always fresh, they maintian reasonably fast service, and quality has not changed in the 5+ years I've been going. The price is also very reasonable. If you're feeling adventurous, try the Crazy Bacon Roll. I've never had anything like it and would highly recommend this crazy combo of bacon wrapped California roll goodness topped with spring greens and scallops.

We were only there once early April and definitely will be going back together and with friends. The food was great well displayed and tasty. The service was very good as well very attentive.

Tempura is hot and crispy. The dipping sauce is a little bit sweet and with ginger flavour. No complaints with the price and quality. They offer a 10% discount to all orders too.

Cute and casual restaurant with wonderful sushi. The sockeye salmon was so fresh and amazing, and the maki rolls were very tasty. Great place to catch up with family and friends over some delicious seafood.

Our favourite sushi restaurant. They have recently changed ownership and the previous owners will be missed. We were delighted to find that the sushi quality is just as good as it’s ever been. The BC Rolls, Dynamite Rolls, Nigiri, Tempura, were all fantastic. The owner even came over to check on us and how the food was. He really cares about the quality he serves to his customers. We’ll be coming back for sure!!
