The meal cost 89 dollars for two people. The price is not the point, the point is that we were not full! ! The beef balls I ordered were white, there were only a few measly slices of luncheon meat, and the potatoes were so hard. The fat beef I ordered, the quality of the meat was so bad, it was scattered and not even one piece! The portion is pitifully small! I will definitely not go there again! !

It’s hard to understand why Google review is so low. The food is very delicious. The aunt who was planning to order a large portion at the beginning very thoughtfully recommended a small portion to us. The small portion plus a few dishes is enough for two people. The aunt is also very warm and cheerful, and the dining experience is great!

Should’ve read the google reviews before ordering. Very very SMALL quantity, less than half box. I spent $36 and get this regular size malaxiangguo (I added extra quail eggs which cost $6.74 and there are 7 eggs in total, so it means $1 each?) Also there is NO rice included. Taste is ok, but the quantity doesn’t worth the price at all, really disappointed. The $36 meal looks like a $6 meal, honestly. First try and not gonna try second time.

Not only are the portions getting smaller and smaller, the food is becoming more and more unpalatable, but the aunt’s attitude is also terrible. Unless she can look good to others when she is in a good mood, she should be prepared to come to dinner and treat her like a grandchild. You don’t mind tipping and being shamed~

Food quality gone down after they reopened. The store owner maintain a good relationships with the younger Chinese customers.

We ordered the Mala Xiangguo, it was tasty and good amount of spiciness! We loved it!

The restaurant is small. The owner was not as bad as what others said in the review. It takes some time for the food to get ready. But this is not doubt the authentic sichuan cuisine. Love it and would definitely come back.

Delicious and the portion size is OK Especially my aunt is very nice. She only needs a 10% tip. She is really friendly to international students.

As soon as I walked in, the aunt started to blame me as an elder for why I drank milk tea and ate egg waffles when I came to dinner, which made me unable to eat. Auntie is quite straightforward and will tip you 10% directly. The food is ok but the portions are small and disposable cutlery is used. Customers who are born and raised in Canada will definitely not be able to accept this kind of service attitude and arrogance.

Stumbled upon this place. The only English in their signs was their name so I never would have gone in if it weren't for my friend who comprehends Chinese better than I can. Luckily the owner knows English and there is an English side on the menu. We ordered the small pork intestine pot ($19.99) and was recommended to get add-ons, so we added bean sprouts ($3.99) and rice cakes ($2.99) and a bowl of rice ($1.50), all of which was the perfect amount. The spice level is adjustable; I can handle some heat so medium was perfect. The food was super flavorful and a drink or small plate of cold appies would have balanced it out. They also offered a small plate of sunflower seeds as a snack before the meal. The bill was accurate and the owner was pretty friendly. Seemed like there are regulars and she knew how to banter with kids who complained about their bill (unsure if they knew each other but I was shocked at that exchange - maybe it's that overly polite Canadian in me). Anyway, the value is ok for something different. May come back again to try the chicken wings pot.

Really bad service, I just want a glass of hot water, the waitress seems really impatient and she even said “It’s so hot outside and you want to drink hot water?” The portion of food are also very small.

I've been here a couple times and it can get lil pricey if you get carried away with the add ons but the portions have always been good in my experience. In the pot it doesn't look like a lot but we always have leftovers and as you eat you realize how much it is (aka it takes forever to make a dent in the portion) . The owner is really nice and the food has always been great!

The food was really good, and the owner was super friendly and kind. She was particularly kind to my parents. She offered us excellent service and the food was very authentic. 😋

Not too many places sell dry hot pot so this was a good dup to the king pin in richmond. The food is just slightly more expensive than richmond and it cures the crave without going to richmond. We shared a small pot and added 2 extra toppings. Got dumplings to help us de-spicy but i would just get rice next time. Mild is the lowest spice and it is pretty spicy but that's just the charm of dry hot pot.

It's actually quite hard to find a pan-fried (dry) hotpot restaurant in the area, so I'm very glad that I found this place. Their "spicy" level is actually very spicy, very authentic, because as a spicy food aficionado, it's very difficult to satisfy my palate. I've been here a couple of times, and the taste of the food is always very good and the service is always very pleasant. The food portion is also very satisfying. With steaming hot white rice, one large hotpot can serve up to three people. The place doesn't look really fancy, but trust me, the food won't disappoint you.

Lots of flavour and spice, interesting Chinese pepper used that added a special touch to the food. Ordered mild and was happy with the spice level.

Surprised to see this place has bad reviews. Maybe the portions are really small for takeout? I’ve only eaten in the restaurant, and I find the portions fine. My wife and I will usually spend $55 for two people, and have a bit of food leftover to take home. Food tastes really good, flavourful with enough spices but not oily. The owner lady is also nice, but I think it takes a couple visits for her to warm up.
