Easy walking trails through the natural lakeside setting. Plenty of signage about the wildlife, birds, and (invasive) plant species. You can walk a loop trail around the entire lake. The paths are well-maintained - some sections are boardwalks, others are concrete. Numerous families with strollers and young children were enjoying the level hike. Nice on a sunny November day. Will be back in the spring!

Nice loop trail around deer lake , it’s flat and it takes you about an hour. Views are nice especially in sunny days.

In the depths where desires reside, relentless winds stir the soul's tide. Realm of the Legend of Deer Lake, where stories and whispers abide.

Nice set of trails in the middle of Burnaby that are usually not too crowded even on weekends. Good for casual walking or jogging.

Easy and relatively flat trail. Good for beginners and casual walkers. Walking around the lake can be done in under 2 hours. Deer Lake is quite diverse in its wild life, expect to see a lot of different plants and animals hanging around. Lots of green and blues. I find the smell of the lake to be quite distinctive. Also be careful of insects too! Lots of them around including swarming flies, dangling worms from trees, and slugs on the ground.

A great park and easy hiking trails for everyone. The park is popular, so plan ahead. Otherwise, be prepared in parking further away. Parking enforcement are active on city street, so make sure you park legally.

Deer Lake is my walking spot of choice for a good chat with a friend or wandering around thinking what It'd be like to live somewhere with space like this to grow old... Not piled on top of other people like a friggin sardine the way we are here in the lower mainland with condo living.

Small parking lot. On a good day you will be struggling to find a spot. Trails are wide and there are a few different options for routes through the park.

Started a nice Sunday walk from here.. there is a small portal potty. The lot has about 15 parking spots.

This is such a nice spot to bring the doggo for a casual walk around the lake. I was also very impressed with how accessible the trails are. There are benches placed throughout to provide a quick nature break. The board walks are wide and have toe boards to provide safe access for people in wheelchairs, walkers, strollers etc. However, some of the paved trails are slightly uneven and could use improvement. All in all, a beautiful spot within the city to come and enjoy nature for a moment.

Nice place to go with the family. It is quite an oasis within the city. Sometimes is quite overcrowded, but totally expected being just a few blocks from Metrotown
