It used to be hard to find a good smash burger on this side of town, but not anymore! Located inside of a local hockey arena, this joint serves a killer burger. Bun was soft, meat was good quality and cooked well, and the cheese was flavourful. However, the lettuce could have been crisper and the tomato was a bit bland. The pickles were also good, but the fried skin was thicker than what I’d prefer. Still a great meal overall, and definitely worth checking out!

I haven't eaten here yet but got the smash burger and fries for the kids. It's the best and they rank it as their "top best food." Smashburger and fries came out to $14.

Simple and good, nothing fancy except what a diner from the 60’s would have on the menu. Sitting down at small tables, you have the choice of views, one is the parking lot, and the other is one of the two indoor ice rinks where hockey teams play and practice. The nearby conversations are as interesting as are the people. “Old timers” who love the game and come here to talk sports while enjoying a smash burger made to perfection, or a tray of gooey mac n’ cheese, or even perogies. You gotta love it! You won’t break the bank here, but you will enjoy the food; and maybe a blueberry lemon slushie!

Got served completely raw burgers for takeout and they were closed by the time we opened up our food. No contact info anywhere on the website or Google? I guess you need to check your takeout is actually cooked before you leave.

Popped in last night to try their burger the "22 Smashburger". A recent article had mentioned it and claimed it was the best burger in Burnaby. It did not disappoint. It was delicious, was perfectly cooked and had great flavour. The fries were amazing as well. The young man at the counter was super pleasant and very nice. All I can say is, well worth the trip and the money. We will be back for sure!

Hidden away in the hockey arena is a nice little restaurant that you would not expect to have at this location. We ordered the smash burgers and they were great. Thin large patties of fresh beef, that result from a smash technique, creates more surface for more flavour. The toppings were a perfect match to the smashed burger patty. The seasoned French fries were good and the Chicken Caesar was great. Will be back to try the double patty version.

Some good food here! Smashburgers here are awesome. Workers here are super friendly. Would recomend. We will definitely be back here again! It's kind of hidden in the hockey arena, but don't let that get you off track on your goal to get that delicious smashburger.

What a hidden gem. Quickly dropped by for lunch while in the area, and now will be one of my favourite burger joints. Affordable yet absolutely tasty. Had the Smash burger, but will definitely have to come back to try others on the menu. Cool hockey rink atmosphere to boot!

If you are looking for a delicious, fairly cheap burger, then I highly recommend 22's. The place has the best smash burger in Burnaby! I personally go double patty and double cheese on the burger myself. Definitely recommend that if you're hungry. Great fries too and the staff is very friendly. My party of 4 even got free cookies once!! Hugs and smiles are always free!! Overall 9.6 out of 10. The only reason not 10 is because the place is kind of hidden by an ice rink so that was a little weird at first but not a big deal.

I support the "best burger in Burnaby" reviews, killer stuff, fast, super friendly staff Honorable mention to the fries, they could have gotten away with mediocre fries, but they're great too Currently no sign on the outside of the building, so if you get to the hockey rinks you're in the right place

Probably the best burger I’ve ever had and I love my burgers. I highly recommend the smash burger with an extra patty and bacon. I’m just sad I only get to come to BWC once a year.

Killer burger, but I prefer the breakfast sandwich. Hearty slice of bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin, yum!

Love the idea of a little hidden restaurant while you get to watch youth begin their journey as hockey players. The smash burger and fries were delicious and the person behind me came back for round 2. Service was friendly, fast and there was good seating to watch our future Canucks.

Friendly staff and extremely clean environment. Not exactly gourmet cooking (nor should you expect it to be), but solid quality and very good pricing. About as old school Canadian as a place can get.

Had the smash burger, chicken burger, fries and mac and cheese. Best thing was the burger which was pretty good for what it is. Portion is small tho. A little bigger than a slider. A lot of reviews say the mac and cheese was good but quality is terrible. Wouldnt even want to feed my kids that. It was busy so they may have been in a rush considering only one person working in the back. Everything else was okay. Didnt know what this place would be like but when you walk in, just expect the food to taste like what youd expect for the place. Overall its okay but wouldn’t recommend unless your in the area and craving a smash burger, not bad.

Had an awesome experience dining in at 22's Grill. The smash burger was delicious! Staff were attentive and great with recommending items on the menu.

Hidden gem inside a hockey arena. This place was not easy to find but they definitely didn’t disappoint! The smash burger is definitely on point. The portions were quite generous too. For sure one of the best burger if not the best I’ve had in Burnaby so far. The fries were also very crispy with a soft interior. Will definitely need to be back to try the burger with two patties and bacon. Another customer ordered that and it made me jealous not ordering the same thing lol.

Everyone has to come try this food!! I got the smash burger and it was incredible!! The beef was so fresh and the char on it was perfect! Chicken wrap and poutine was fantastic too! Staff was incredible I felt like part of the “team”. I was told they’re opening a location in north Burnaby so look out for it.. I know I will.

The staff is friendly, nice customer service. I got the cheeseburger with French fries and a pink lemonade, it was good. It is really nice to have a food place within walking distance from the office buildings. The menu has a good variety and affordable prices. I am sure this will become a popular spot.

Located inside the Burnaby Winter Club this place is the perfect spot for a burger. Everything is made fresh to order. Their smash burger is juicy and full of flavor, they have crispy fries and friendly staff. Also a good sign that there are lots of regular customers that you will see. Lots of seating to enjoy your meal. A must go to place!

We were so thrilled with tasty, delicious food. Our office has ordered 24 meals for our lunch and everything was nicely prepared and ready on time. The owner Sam was amazing, so kind and helped us with delivering our food to the office. Everybody was extremely professional and pleasant. Grill 22 is an awesome and highly recommended place to eat. Smash burger is absolutely amazing! Couple that with the best fries I've had, ever, and all sub $10! Mind blown! Must try!
