Gaya Sushi is definitely the best place I've ever been!!! This was my first visit for dinner. The place is very clean and their service is terrific. Food came way quicker than expected. every food I've ordered was fresh and delicious especially their Fire Cracker Roll. Furthermore, the price for the food was surprisingly cheap. Gaya sushi became one of my favorite place. Definitely I will visit again! Highly Recommended!!!!!!!!!!!

Pure average sushi. The sushi here is kinda rough in appearance as seen in the photos, it is not a place that pays attention to the presentation of their food. The salmon maki was falling apart and the rice was definitely not distributed evenly and lacked the plump vinegary sushi rice features that makes sushi rice nice. Ingredients did taste fresh and it was okay and edible but nothing special.

Omg, this is my 3rd time ordering from Gaya and today is the worst ever. Easily the worst sushi place in lower mainland. This make Costco sushi taste like a winner. Today their rice is mushy, bland no hint of vinegar whatsoever. It's going downhill from there. The sushi chef must have hated his job. To put it into perspective, this is the kind of sushi you eat at an american buffet place. It's that bad. Next time, I'll stick with California Sushi or Sushi Town, they never disappoint.

The food was mediocre at best, chicken was gross, soft shell crab was not cleaned properly and the taste was horrendous it made me literally vomit, the yakisoba noodles were really soggy and bland, the rolls are alright but definitely not up to par for the price, the gyoza tasted like it was under a heat lamp for the past few hours with soggy bits and really hard bits, really unfortunate as the food looked fantastic when it arrived Update: My gf and I both have started having severe stomach cramping and nausea, seems like we may have food poisoning yay! Don't eat here for the love of God

Fresh food. This place is packed all the time. Servers are nice and friendly. Very quick service especially when only having 30 minute lunch break this place beats it all!

We ordered take out from here (Uber Eats) and it was such a disappointment. We had: 2 x yam tempura rolls, 1 salmon avocado roll, 1 California roll, and 1 Bainbridge roll. The yam rolls were advertised to have yam tempura, avocado and cucumber, but there were only minimal traces of avocado and NO cucumber whatsoever. The California roll tasted like there was not enough mayo added as it was quite dry. The yam tempura didn’t taste very fresh even though it only took 6min for the Uber eats delivery to get to our house. There was no crunch at all and it was just all mush. The bainbridge roll was as the menu described but I felt $10.50 was too expensive for what was given. We only ordered from here because our usual place Sushi U was closed, but now we won’t be coming back.

We were enjoying the food so much that we forgot to take pictures before we touched it! Loved the hotplate, nigiri’s were fresh as well as the salad. Recommend.

really tasty, good price compared to other sushi places, presentation is a little messy but honestly? its not horrible or anything and the taste + amount + price matters to me way more than the looks. Also, very generous fillings which i love

The food here is absolutely A list. Nicely composed. Got spicy wings and almost felt like it was melting in my mouth. Very easy to eat. Thank you, I have to go back for the sushi

Sushi was gummy we walked in sat down and we were ordering take out so the guy was like you have to come up to the desk he couldn't even be bothered to come take our order at the table why because we we're not eating in. Regardless the food was mediocre. I was expecting more! Unfortunately my 9 year old even noticed because he eats California rolls all the time and this meal was for him and grandma.

Delivered! No issues. I’ve realized that sushi is an excellent choice when it comes to food delivery because you don’t worry about hot food getting cold. Just don’t order anything hot.

I know most people wouldn't come here for the yakisoba and yakiudon, but me and my brother did and the yaki sauce had a fishy taste, as if I garnished my noodles with salmon. Some people might appreciate that, but unfortunately I'm not one of them. Service was good though.

Reliable place to get good sushi It has turned into my go-to anytime I head out east of the city and want a bite to eat or a snack. After countless times order takeout or sitting for a meal, I have nearly always had a perfect experience. Not too busy and truly reliable

Overall, I was pleased with the quality of the sushi given its price range. The price of nigiri is very competitive and even lower than other supposedly budget sushi chains like sushi garden/town. The lower price does reflect a bit smaller and thinner fish slice, but the size of sashimi to rice ration was very good. If you don't feel like paying nearly double to eat at an authentic Japanese run sushi restaurants, then this place will be a very good alternative.

Small and quaint little sushi restaurant tucked in a corner by a subway, taekwondo dojo and a vegan pizza. I went in around 4 or 5pm few people. Servers were very attentive. Food was delicious. Rolls were flavourful and the servers knew to pick the right moments to intervene to ask about the food or if I needed anything else. 5/5

Good prices. Decent portions. Friends say best sushi place in area. They tried them all. Gaya HASN'T cut portions, quality or price gouged like other sushi joints have since Covid. Delivery was quick.

Got delivery and it looked really nice! Took 1 bite and was instantly disappointed. Rice for nigiri and rolls is completely unseasoned. Should be a tiny bit sweet sour and salty. Tastes like completely plain rice. Now I understand why people say the rice is the most important part…

Nice little restaurant. The nigiri are smaller than some of the places I've been but were all fresh. It's the second or third time I've ordered from here. We are fortunate in Vancouver to have a lot of good sushi places. This is a good place but I haven't had anything yet that stands out for me.
