cosy café, nice and friendly service. I took an organic tripel from brouwerij 't IJ. 8% alcohol for €4,50 well, actually €9,- for two bottles as the atmosphere made me drink another one. All in all a nice place where people look at and follow sports on the screens or play darts or have a chat and a laugh in real time in the familiarity atmosphere at the bar or trying one's luck at one of the one armed bandit machines who since long lost their one arm to a button, surely to easier play the game of luck. Outside you'll find a terrace and enough tables to seat.

I love this place! I sometimes come here for a glass of wine with some friends and we always get a big welcome from these guys! This must be on my top 10 list of favorite bars in this area and I would recommend it any time!

Fun and friendly staff and they were happy to make us tostis at 2am! Nice to have a relaxed and unpretentious place for a few 🍻 in the neighbourhood

The 90’s dance mix is so loud you couldn’t speak over it; a ridiculous electronic laser effect is pulsing non-stop. It was freezing inside (no heat). Most unpleasant experience I’ve had in Amsterdam.

This place is amazing. Finally I found a bar. It has a decoration of a classic bar, what makes the place amazing are the people. The staff is incredibly sweet and attentive. You can see the usuals all coming and chilling here. The music is also cool. It is just a great atmosphere, nothing elaborate but you feel welcome and as a usual even if you're not (yet). I didn't try the food but it smelled good. + they have pad in the bathroom!!!

Barman was very rude. IPA BEER was served in a soapy glass. He would not change the beer. We left fairly sharpish.

Great little bar, Newcastle United themed and put the match on when we asked :) Super friendly staff & owners, definitely recommend, even if you’re not a Newcastle fan

Love this pub & had so many good time here before. Would give 5 stars but for me personally, since Lee left it is not the same. He's a lovely lad & wish all the best for him & his family. Still a lovely pub don't get me wrong & the staff today were lovely :) Prices gone up since the change but all in all, can't complain as you still get service with a smile! Keep up the good work guys :)

Very friendly guests and barkeepers, situated on a quiet corner , the perfect place for an afternoon beer, and livelier in the evenings , good music that isn't so loud you can't have a quiet chat.

Hello, I visited The Magpie 2 times during my recent trip to Amsterdam, by far, Lee from The Magpie is the best Barman in the city. If you have a Love for Football (Soccer for the USA folks), there is always a game on TV, no matter what league or country, and clearly, by far, if you want to watch English Football, there is NO better place in the City, than The Magpie. Lee is an incredible host, and has an outstanding understanding of Football, it is truly a fun experience watching a Football game with Lee, honestly, he should be calling the games on TV, he is that good with his knowledge and facts. When you are away from home, in an international city like Amsterdam, it is great comfort to be in an establishment with Football on TV, with incredibly friendly customers, every one is so friendly with one another, you feel like home, The Magpie is so comfortable, the Beer is always Fresh and Cold, nice choice of whiskies, but most important, this would not be possible, without the great friendship, service, witty conversation and football talk from Lee, a great Barman, and incredible host. I look forward to my next trip to Amsterdam, where I look forward to watching a game at The Magpie, and spend time with Lee. Three Cheers for Lee and The Magpie, see you soon Mate, cheers! Had fun at this pub a couple of nights. Bartenders are very friendly. Had a mix of locals and tourists. Good dartboard! Great place to relax and have drinks with friends.
