One of my favourite Guo-Tiao Noodle Stores in Butterworth, Penang. Highly recommend the dry Guo-Tiao noodles or with soup. Both the home-made sauce and soup are delicious and brings out the taste of the noodles. Will always drop by to eat whenever I am in Penang ☺️

As they are side by side, this place has always been compared to the 7 Village chain of restaurants. If you don't know it yet, Raja Uda is the home to Koay Teow Th'ng (KTT). The KTT here uses fishball something that is missing from 7 Village. They also serve sui kow, egg and toast and other dishes here. However I was back here after several years and I have found that the taste is no longer up to the par. Maybe it's due to other additional variety of breakfast items. Owner should look into improving the taste back to the good ol' days. You may park adjacent to the empty land beside this restaurants.

Price slightly expensive, environment quit clean is typical traditional kopitiam style. Place order at counter and pay after this.

Very rude cashier who scolded customer for petty matters which many other eateries in Penang offered as services. Can even scold customer, 'You are not welcome' with angry voice.

Authentic Chinese food where it goes well with older folks, for instance, the koay teow soup/dry goes very well for my mum tummy, delicious, filling, plus a cup of Kopi O, makes it soothing and perfect meal for her regular breakfast. Myself, the chicken feet is awesome, the meal is incomplete without it, lightly flavor, soft, tender and juicy. The open concept and spacious layout of the restaurant make it feel ventilated unlike typical hawker, so stuffy, gasping for air while eating. My apology for not rating it a 5 as it wasn't extraordinary but merely good and authentic.

The food is ok, portion is acceptable. Staff is friendly. Must try the fried dumplings. It’s good. The dry noodles is normal. Next time will try the soup type.

If you are looking for relaxing place to have a simple breakfast, then this is the place. The parking is easy, the corner shop lot spacious and the fans provide a breezy wind. The staffs are efficient and the place looks clean. The have a pretty extensive menu with lots of choices and most of them are good. Their soup is light and it's flavours well balanced. Their dry version is adequately dark with delicious tasty sauce. I must recommend you try their fried dumpling. It arrives freshly fried and piping hot with crackling skin and mouth watering yummy filling. The lobak is however just average and their drinks passable.

One of the famous food joints in Butterworth. As the name suggested, it is famous for the sai toh fish balls. The fish balls were springy and full of fish taste. I absolutely loved the fish ball soup with seaweed in it. The dry noodles were okay, the sauce wasn't particularly special. Kinda like the chilly paste give at the side. It's actually quite nice. If it has more shrimpy smell, it'd be superb. The hokkien mee (dry version) wasn't very good. The dark soy sauce totally covers the shrimpy smell of the soup. And the taste don't really go well together. The steamed chicken is okay, not the best I have in Penang. I have to applaud the service here. Food is served within a few minutes after order is made. Very quick serving speed indeed. Price is reasonable.

So obsessed with their Hokkien Mee (aka prawn mee in KL). My fav in the menu: - Hokkien mee (koey teow + mee) - Soup wantan/dumpling (order separately so that it is served with clear broth, otherwise they will add it directly into the hokkien mee) - Bek zham geh (Cantonese boiled chicken) - Lor bak (Fried pork roll) - Fried fish cake Now they have QR code to scan to order food. Food will be served in about 10 minutes. They accept e-wallet (Grabpay, TnG, Boost, etc.). Plenty parking around the place.

You can taste the mackerel flavour in the kway teow soup, whereas the dumpling soup had a distinctive anchovies taste - both delicious. The fried fishball tasted better than fishball in my noodles (but maybe that day fish not as fresh). The 5 spice sausages were yummy. Rice with fried minced pork was good too.

Had the worst dried noodles in my life. Dried noodles taste sweet and Hokkien mee soup so so. Roast pork skin is not crunchy, fish ball taste very fishy. 🤢 Only fried fish cake and fried dumpling edible. Food is quite pricey for breakfast like this.

Koay Teow Soup (6/10): Light soup taste. Portion too small. Fried Dorab Roll (7/10): Not bad.
