Kyō Japanese Vegan Restaurant

Restaurant Vegan restaurant

👍👍 Established in February 2021, it chose the name Kyo in Japanese name meaning "today". They want people to start to enjoy 100% vegetarian Japanese food today. We love fruit sushi especially mango and strawberry. Sushi platters are nice with a variety of traditional sushi. The ramen is mildly spic... Went on a weekday night for dinner. We were the only diners and a couple more entered later. Cosy and quiet interior. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was really good, fresh and able to taste the effort being put into the preparation of each dish. We enjoyed our dinner here. Only thing is the entrance was dimly lit and at the corner lot making the shop harder to notice. Probably can put more lights to increase visible and safety :)

Very cozy little vegetarian shop. The moment you enter you'll start to wow. Food was exceptionally good. Don't think I'd tasted any vegetarian food with such a high standard. Highly recommended.

Nice vegetarian restaurant hidden in the BM town serving a fairly good variety of vegetarian dishes. Reasonably priced and tastes awesome. Highly recommended for vegans looking for Japanese food.

This is undoubtedly one of the places you must come to try if you yearn for vegetarian Japanese. Everything here is incredible. From the moment you walk into the inviting restaurant with its relaxing Japanese vibe decor and meet the two young staffs who are friendly and efficient, to the delicious food. Everything is top notched. I loved the crunchy seaweed in the sushi roll that gave it an excellent contrast to the soft rice and tasty filings. I enjoyed the curry rice with its delicious potato and mushroom even though I felt a thicker curry would be even more tasty. Strangely, I feel that the curry was a little too sweet for my taste buds even though I expected Japanese curry to be a little sweet. The fried udon on the other hand is flavoured beautifully. Chewy udon cooked just right and portioned just nicely for a simple meal. I also found the bean snack soft, sweet and delicious. In short, impressive Japanese vegetarian cooking, enjoyable environment and nice dining experience. Price wise, I am comfortable paying it for this experience.

Very rare vegan Japanese restaurant in town. For last one year I am unable to figure out what is this Kyo shop selling, I thought it is a hair saloon or selling Japanese second hand goods. As the store front didn't indicate there is a cozy and comfortable restaurant in it. The ambiance and environment of Kyo is very good, and it is spacious. They offer various kinds of vegan dishes, sushi, temaki, rice, noodle and udon etc. Everyone will find something you like in Kyo, and they offered many fusion japanese food in the vegan way. We tried the Hallo Noodles and Black Noodles, they were fine, just a bit too much of Uncle Roger's MSG, as usual for many vegetarian restaurant. Their tempeh was surprisingly good, I really like the way they prepared the tempeh. Hot tea was refillable. Parking is easy as there are plenty of parking space available in this not busy commercial area. Price is in par with the normal Japanese restaurant.

This was a mixed experience. Service was good. The udon soup was good outstanding. The curry has a local taste to it. But the hand wrap was upsetting. Barely any rice. Might as well call it a salad wrap. The prices bring charged are a bit too high for the quality of food. At least what we had.

Personally we think this shop is a little bit overhyped. The environment and ambience are unlike what other said, seat are limited. Service are friendly but the surrounding customer are not. We tasted better Japanese vegetarian shop, so compare to other, this shop is still can be improved.

It was a vegetarian sushi for vegetarians who love to eat Japan food. The food was delicious and the mochi was sweet and tasteful. The staff meet was youngster who may just graduated from school. There are friendly and cute and serious when serving the customers. There many fruits or vege sushi to choose. The environment was cozy and especially the toilet was clean and not smelly.

Immediately you can feel the cozy and peaceful Japanese Vegan restaurant. Nicely decorations and lightning. Many choices of Vegan Japanese food available. Wise choice if you get bore with traditional vegan food. Next visit will try their fried rice and Ramen noodle. There is one long table for 10 that you can make reservation. Good service!

As a non vegan, no doubts is challenging and yet they manage to full fill my appetite with innovative and caring cooking ingredients. Children friendly menu, peace relaxing ambient which further enhance the tasting experience. After all, worth trying and best for local vegans to have such a nice selection.

Actually, this is not my first visit. The environment is very comfortable, and the food remains at the same standard. I also found that they have added a few new tables and chairs this time. I definitely recommend it to everyone.

A beautiful vegetarian Japanese restaurant with a nice relaxed atmosphere. They have a very well presented menu with a great variety of dishes. We particularly appreciated the care and attention to detail in everything from the service to the dish presentation. Very good value meal that I would highly recommend for vegans, vegetarians and non-veggies alike! The restaurant accepts payment via the usual array of Malay digital wallet options and cash.

Had my meal here on a weekend.Might need to wait a bit longer because they are quite busy on the weekends and the waiter explained that the food are made to order to ensure freshness. But the wait is totally worthy, some may think vegan food might be bland or not appetizing. But thats not the case for kyo. We sampled the fried udon, hottomen, tempura cha soba, mushroom steak/chop?? Flavorful and not salty. Just nice for my liking. The price is reasonable as well. Will be back again to try their sushi next time!
