Very historic and interesting temple to learn more about before visiting. Nice place to take an afternoon break or evening chanting. Pagoda is the general term for a tiered tower with multiple eaves, common in Asia outside of India. The ancient Indian Buddhist Stupa exported and recreated in many Asian counties is a "Pagoda." The Pagoda's reason to exist is to house relics and sacred writings.

This place is so lovely! Very quiet and we were allowed to walk upstairs to the top to have a great view of Saigon! We stayed here for an hour. Definitely worth it!

Wow what a hidden beauty! Skip the pagoda. It's not the one that's over 200 years old. Go straight to the back and find something beautiful from the past.

Large temple complex which also includes two buildings full of urns. A large Pagoda and large statues on the grounds. Outside more interesting than inside. Free entry, some buildings only open op at 15.00 in the afternoon. Quite a lot of shade from the many trees.

Its ~400 years old beautifully preserved and well maintained, culturally rich Buddhist temple...one of the best I have ever seen in whole South Asia. PS: not very busy on normal days and also its deep inside after crossing the main pagoda if anyone goes from road entry. We were about to miss but luckily while exploring till the last, we found it.

A beautiful temple, with many themes and plenty of areas to wander around and enjoy. The front pagoda is impressive as you enter the grounds, but you are greater surprised at the vastness, and serenity of the gardens, monuments, stupas, shrines and temples. Believed to be the oldest in Saigon, and away from the usual tourist area, this temple is a an absolute treasure, and well worth the visit.

Absolutely loved it. Completely worth visiting. Dont forget to go all the way in. There's a lot more than it looks at first. The main temple is all the way in and you can see and hear the monks chanting.

One of the most ancient temples in Ho Chi Minh City, almost 300 years old. A great place to visit during Tet Holiday with family, they have the most sophisticated and dignified main hall I've ever been to

Very serene and calm temple. Probably the furthest away of all temples, but the largest in terms of size and things to see. Staff are around and are friendly, despite not speaking english they do their best to communicate.

The pagoda was built in 1774 and exists to this day. It is one of the oldest pagodas in Ho Chi Minh City and is recognized as a national historical and cultural relic of Vietnam.

Supposedly old and apparently tall. Check it out if you are north out of town. The temple grounds next door are worth a walkthrough too. Not much inside other than a few alters and a shocking number of donation boxes. No access to upper levels.

Nice atmosphere. Too bad it's not very clean. And the building isn't very attractive too, actually. Just so so. But there is nothing really to see too in Saigon so, I guess you should visit just once.

Nice quiet and peaceful area inside a bustling part of the city. Worth a visit if you are interested in temples and temple architecture. Suggest an evening visit just before prayer time. Go around before prayer and watch the prayer

I recently visited the Pagoda at Ho Chi Min City and was absolutely blown away by the beauty of Giac Lam Buddhist Temple. The intricate designs and stunning architecture were breathtaking, and I felt instantly transported to a place of peace and serenity. The temple's rich history is also fascinating, and I left feeling both enlightened and humbled. I highly recommend anyone visiting Ho Chi Min City to make a stop at Giac Lam Buddhist Temple - it's an experience you won't forget!

This is the oldest pagoda in Ho Chi Minh city, you can choose it to visit there because it is extremely less people as well as tourists, this pagoda was built in 1744. Being nearly 300 years old, Giac Lam pagoda is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Ho Chi Minh City and is the place that preserves valuable antiques and holds important cultural, historical and architectural values. The temple is located in District 11, which is around 20 minutes away from the city centre.

This is a lovely temple that offers some quiet and tranquility in the middle of a chaotic city. Everyone here always seems welcoming and friendly. Easy, cheap parking for motorbikes.

Really peaceful ambience. Monks chanting can be heard throughout the complex. Very friendly people here. Not sure if you can normally go up the Pagoda but stairs were closed off today.
