Le Bédouin chez Michel

Restaurant Bar Couscous restaurant

👍 As couscous expertise, I can say that it was quite good. The staff was friendly. We had to wait a bit longer because the restaurant was busy but overall we liked it. We tried also some almond past e deserts which were really good and mint tea. 👍👍👍👍 People often mention couscous, mint, lamb, owner, good, restaurant, great, delicious,

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Nice. It’s a bit outside of the touristy area, making it a bit more authentic and local. The owner is so kind and so funny. The food comes in large portions and the prices are extremely reasonable. We had to bring home the couscous because two of us could not finish it. We ended the meal with baklava and mint tea, which was perfect.

Delicious couscus and lamb/meat balls. Owner works alone (waiter, chef & barmen) but is good enough to manage everything. Huge portions

What a great dinner. Very homey and welcoming restaurant. Big portions of a super tasty couscous, and a perfect ending with the mint tea and cookies. It’s a one man show (cooking, waiter, host), and he excels at it, all while cracking jokes with you. Highly recommend!!!!!!

My husband and I came across this whole in the wall across street from our hotel. It was my first time eating Morocco food. The Couscous was so delicious. I had the chicken and my husband had the Lamb. The owner is quite the character and the ambience is very welcoming. Not to mention the peppermint tea and the dessert topped off the evening.

Unbelievably flavorful and perfectly cooked. We had the lamb kebabs, sausage, and grilled lamb. The chef is hysterical and makes you feel at home. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in Nice.

Run for your life: this is a terrible place. The restaurant was completely empty, which we should've taken as a sign to dine somewhere else. Food is stale and below street-food grade. The place is very unhygienic and the food doesn't taste or look good. I am not sure if the digestive issues we had that night are related to hygiene issues or just the response of our minds to the disgusting food we were served. To add insult to the injury, he charged us EUR92 for 4 meals. The price doesn't match the sub street-food grade he offers. Not recommended at all, avoid at any cost.

I went here on a whim, best decision. The couscous was sublime and the meat was fall- off-the-bone tender. The owner was probably the most amiable dude ever. Its basically egyptian comfort food, tier 1 of my restaurants.

We had such a great time there! So lovely - very tasty as well, soup was perfect, meatballs super light… wine selection is very interesting. Waited super friendly. We hesitated about going due to negative feedback, glad we decided to follow our instinct - such a great night spent there

Sunday, late lunch, had the couscous with lamb, sausage, meatball, and vegetables. Very nice, quite flavoursome and plentiful for the two of us.

I ate here during my trip to Nice and it was such a great place!! portions were so generous and food was great! the owner/cook was such a sweetheart! He took the time to speak to me and my siblings during the night and he made the restaurant experience so much better. ON TOP OF IT, my brother had forgotten his bag at the restaurant that night and the owner knew that we were going to be leaving the city the next day so he waited at his restaurant past midnight with his young son (way after closing) with no way of contacting us for us to realize the bag was missing and to go back (almost two hours later). GOD BLESS HIM!

One of the best couscous I’ve ever eaten. It was delicious and the waiter was super friendly and did everything himself! Highly recommend

We had reservations to bring our 87-year-old father for dinner. When we arrived the place was closed tight. Google Maps said it was open. We called and were told they sold all their food at lunch and were closed. No apologies. We'll never try to dine there again. This is no way to treat customers, especially handicapped ones.

We first visit Le Bedouin December 2017 not a five star venue but the owner was so welcoming & the food was delicious. Just come back again August 2018 same welcoming reception Chef Michel is a character but so friendly. Food is good home cooking as long as you like couscous you cannot go wrong with paying this place a visit. We definitely recommend it.

The service was excellent and so was the food. One of the best couscous dishes that I've ever eaten. The portions (as with any couscous) were quite generous. A very nice and relaxed atmosphere as well with dim lighting and oriental-style decorations. We sat inside but there's also an outside terrace which might be where I'll choose to sit next time because the street there is usually quiet, so might be nice. I definitely recommend it! Make sure you get a traditional mint tea at the end! It was the best that I've had in oriental restaurants in France.

We really wanted to like this place but the experience didn’t turn out as expected based on other positive reviews. We initially stopped by for a quick cup of mint tea but ended up getting a couscous plate to share. Little did we know that all prices in the menu are PER PERSON, not per menu item. Couscous was delicious and so was the mint tea but I feel a bit deceptive to label couscous at €18 and tea at €3 in the menu when we ended up paying €50 for two people for one plate of couscous and two tiny tea pots (not to mention the 1 hour wait for the food to arrive). Don’t get me wrong, the place has charm, the owner is sweet, the food is tasty but not worth the money at all and deceptive pricing in the menu makes it feel like a rip-off. I wouldn’t be going again, there are better places to dine in Nice

The best couscous ever. If you’re here make sure to order the Méchoui. A melting lamb meat.

It's couscous or nothing. Great couscous royal. Chef explains the choices with broken English and delightful sense of humor. The harissa is homemade and so delicious I wish they would offer it for sale. Veggies to go with the couscous are "a volonté" = all you can eat. Moroccan wine recommended by the chef also wonderful. Decor is not a priority. Atmosphere somewhat relaxed, definitely authentic. Small terrace for outside seating. Or sit inside. Prices reasonable.

The food was crazy. So good, the best meatballs I ever had, lamb was incredible and the service was second to none (especially in france). The chef will make you feel at home and you will leave 100% happy.
