Disappointing Experience - Not a 5 star hotel, at best 2 or 3-star property. Review: My recent stay at this hotel was highly disappointing, and I feel compelled to share my experience. Before booking this hotel, I suggest filtering the reviews by lowest score on Google, as I suspect many of the 5/5 ratings are fake or generated by bots. This hotel falls far short of being a true 5-star establishment and, at best, can be considered a 2 or 3-star property. The hotel itself is outdated and in desperate need of renovations. The state of the bathrooms and bathrobes was appalling, and the pervasive musty smell was nauseating. Additionally, it seems that everyone at the hotel is constantly trying to squeeze extra money out of you. The staff would ring my door twice in the afternoon upon my return to inquire about my stay, only to discover they were seeking a tip. They were incredibly stingy with amenities like coffee and water in the room. To add insult to injury, they charged us fees for services as basic as printing our boarding passes. Originally, we booked the Nile Deluxe Suite because it promised a view and a balcony overlooking the Nile. However, the room was far from clean and didn't feel safe for my elderly parents. When I approached the front desk to upgrade, the staff member callously remarked that we needed to choose a suite for a "different kind of service and quality." This is an unacceptable response, especially considering the hotel's supposed 5-star status and the fact that we didn't book the cheapest room available. The hotel staff also charged exorbitant prices for arranging taxis, despite our ability to negotiate better rates on our own. Throughout our stay, we encountered a lack of authenticity and a plethora of excuses from the hotel staff. On the day of my check-out, the manager appeared concerned and offered an upgraded taxi for our airport transfer, but it was too little, too late. Considering my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel to my two sisters who plan to visit Egypt in the coming months. I regret having to leave such a negative review, but it became evident that the hotel's business model revolves around charging high premiums without reinvesting in the property to maintain 5-star standards. Save yourself the disappointment and look for alternative accommodations.

If u don’t touch your fruit basket, then go out and when u come back u find the peel of the orange on the tray , this means???? Also I find it the rudest to call a lady at 10:30 pm at night and tell her to go down to pay that extra night ( after having paid a stay of a whole week already) is outrageous. Their staff need to learn hospitality and rules of hospitality.. a def no stay at

Boutique in Style, Amazing Nile View After a VERY VERY long flight we arrived to Cairo and headed to the Kempinski in Garden City at almost 2am. The staff was beyond amazing in checking us in. Our room was incredible, Yes it may have been a bit on the smaller side, but with a view from both the bathroom and the room of the Nile, it was beyond amazing. The on-sight butler service, brought up fruit and macaroons for our young girls. The roof top pool sports amazing views of the city. The cafe - Chocolate was perfect for entertaining guests and the service was impeccable. One person to look for is Abeer in Guest Relations- she was beyond fantastic in helping us with all our needs throughout our short trip and was beyond professional. Loved our 4 day stay here and would definitely come back in a heart beat! As for cleanliness and safety which was very important- Hotel staff fully masked, the hotel was very clean, the rooms were extremely clean, with sealed items like the remote and phones. Overall very impressive service.

This was our second stay at this hotel. Really excellent service, appropriate level of room and its amenities - according to 5 stars and the place itself. Very comfortable and spacious room. Extra bed for the child was delivered within 10 minutes. Breakfast is tasty and rich in choice. In general - all the staff we met were friendly and welcoming. Parking is beside and they will take care to put your car there & bring it immediately by your request. The only note - really high rate for the parking. But we knew it :) Will be glad to stay there again.

When we booked a room, we chose one with a balcony on the higher levels. On our arrival, we were told the only available one is on the second floor which was very close to the street and very noisy. They gave us another option in a higher floor but had no balcony and it was a 2 single bed room not a double like we booked. Also, when we first tried the shower, the drain was blocked and we had to wait for a plumber to come fix it. The rooms are very old, dirty and outdated. The rooms need renovations. Overall experience was horrible for a hotel with a big name such as Kempinski. We will definitely not come back to this hotel next time.

Just good and definitely NOT 5* Booked at the Kempinski Nile in spite of my husband’s suggestion to go with a different hotel. This was a big mistake. First off, the staff here is helpful mostly which is why the 3 stars. We had booked the city view room but ended up paying $75 a night on top of what we had paid to be in a Nile view room which was the same size as the city view room but just with a balcony facing the Nile. 1. The room size was SMALL! it could fit exactly a king sized bed and 2 nightstands and space for 1 person to walk around the bed. No chests, a few shelves. We decided to put up with it as our next option was the suite which was $200 a night on top of what we paid. 2. Room size issue aside the room was so bad, the walls were peeling in the room and the bathroom was tiny with no shower but just a tub that drained so slowly that it was icky to take showers in there, there was dirt in the bathroom corners. We told the front desk the day after but were told the only other option is the suite which was $200 a night extra or another city view room. We convinced ourselves to just stay put instead of having to move all over again especially after being jetlagged. 3. We were charged $25 each for breakfast and that included my 11 year old son. Usually breakfast is free under 6 and half price under 17. 4. Location is not walkable to anything. Consider staying in other hotels where you maybe able to walk at least to restaurants or a few attractions. The only positives are the helpful concierge (though we were given quite a small car for the 3 of us because the guide also rode with us it got really cramped) and the extensive breakfast options. We had high hopes for this hotel but we were very very disappointed. I don’t think 5 star in Egypt is the same as 5 star in other places. It felt more like a 3 star hotel in need of renovation.

The hotel is superficially very nice and attentive staff. We asked for a room for 3, we were given a king sized bed suite with an extra bed in the living area. The extra bed had a thin sheet on top and one pillow as apposed to the king bed that had a full duvet with two pillows each side. There was no extra blanket so the person sleeping on the extra bed was extremely cold all night and got hardly any sleep this is the main reason for giving 2 stars as the whole point is to have a good night's sleep! The breakfast was okay and staff were helpful. We wouldn't stay here again as the price is too much for what you get.

I tried this hotel due to the convenient location. It is close to most tourist spots, close to restaurants and the Museums. The hotel itself has a few good restaurants if you wish to dine in after a long day. The Turkish and the Italian restaurants are the two that I tried. Can highly recommend both of them. The rooms itself are good. We went for the suite with Nile view. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Wonderful hotel, all aspects of the service were impeccable and not once did they ever get anything wrong during our 7 day stay with English not being their first language and quite rightly so. As many have mentioned before the breakfasts are on another level and I noticed they also cater for gluten free requirements too. The pool service, room service, room cleaning, restaurants, concierge/Lady in Red, checkin staff, security staff, security dogs - all of them provided an excellent service. I honestly cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you get chance, do make friends with the bomb/security dogs. They're really friendly and love a bit of human interaction. As for rooms, we had a Nile view on the 9th floor. Traffic is a bit noisy but you get used to it quickly enough. The views more than make up for it though.

I have to say what a great hotel. Excellent location with amazing view over the Nile . Plenty of food options across multiple restaurants and bars . All the service stuff was helpful and friendly and accommodating. This is a great hotel for both business and holiday stay in Cairo . Special mention to the guys at jazz bar for being accommodating with all our requests. Great place overall and we definitely will be back again

The view of the city from the pool on the top floor is amazing. I felt very safe visiting as an American. The Blue Restaurant and Grill in the hotel was overpriced but great. The rooms were lovely (came with unlimited bottled water which was very convenient). Most of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I stayed here about a week and the only negative part of my stay was when a few male staff members made me feel uncomfortable on a few occasions (asking for my contact info and social media as I was staying there solo). Room service was pretty good, the wifi was great, and overall, I had a great experience and would stay here again!

Excellent hotel in the best location with exceptional services! Crew is very helpful, informative and caring (especially with our little baby!). Staff goes out of their way to help and serve guests! Only issue is that the room and bathroom layouts feel very congested and not very functional.

This hotel is located in the city centre near the Nile River. The hotel is build in a small area and is quite compact and not so spacious. We did not book a stay here but visited the hotel for dinner here. We went to the Turkish dinner buffet and the food was really great and highly recommended. While walking around the hotel I got the idea that the rooms might not be spacious as the hotel was quite small. View from the rooftop at night is amazing and I would recommend this hotel for people visiting Cairo for business for short stays.

Stayed here for a week. The hotel itself isn't bad - the rooms are decent, staff are excellent, the two restaurants are decent and breakfast is excellent. Dry cleaning service is reasonably priced. The spa facilities are not good - tiny sauna, small jacuzzi, 3 lockers only to share. No place to rest and relax. In other words, you will not be able to unwind after a work day here. There is no world in which it is worth 240 a night (which was our preferred rate - normally it's 330). Would much recommend the Sofitel across the river if staying in the area which is a cheaper and substantially better hotel. This hotel would be 5 stars at 150 a night.

Stayed there for a business trip last month. The rooms are spacious and super clean, the staff is super pleasant and extremely helpful. Breakfast was great! The one thing is that I personally think they should move the main restaurant upstairs (instead of the bar which is barely used) to make use of the super nile/sunset view. Also the pool area can use some improvement.

I booked the suite with Nile view for the weekend. I have stayed in other Kempinski properties before and had good experiences. Sadly, this hotel is no where near a 5 star. The rooms are old and dilapidated, and though the staff are aware of this they turn a blind eye and try to conjure up quality with fake promises and passive aggression. I checked in to a poorly secure entrance with minimal oversight, I frankly felt unsafe when the taxi from the airport dropped me off at the entrance of what appeared to be a random building on the street. Checking into the tiny lobby was uneventful. I was given a corner room with an odd old carpet smell, much to my shock there was no internet service available. Given that the room rate was over $550 USD per night I tried to ask the staff to help fix it. I was met with a fury of excuses, everything from it’s my apple products to the IT manager not being available and I was even told by their “lady in red” that this was normal with “Egyptian telecommunication infrastructure”. Given that I was working and required a secure internet connection, I needed to check out the next morning and find suitable accommodation. Luckily the Four Seasons Hotel was a 2 minute walk from them, and though the prices were comparable, the Four Seasons hotel was obviously a true 5 star experience with excellent internet connection, and no issues at all. The worst part of this is that when I checked out they removed any discounts I had received for booking the weekend and charged me in excess of $800 USD for that one night I spend there without internet. I was too shocked to say anything, and I did not have the courage to write this review until 2 months passed and I am safely back home in Canada. The manager and the “lady in red” offered to cover the cost of laundry I had asked the them to complete the night before. They managed to rush it and my clothes were shrunken. Disaster! Honestly, my advice is to be careful when booking this location, read the rest of the reviews about this hotel. They are an honest reflection of what to expect. I hope that the staff apologize for their actions.

Quite and Nice hotel for families and people who seek quality stays. Receptionists and staff are always kind. Breakfast can be better but still not bad. Location is very secure. Rooms are not the same sizeand quite small but they are with comfortable bed and clean furniture. I'll come again inshaallah.

The hotel is gorgeous and the staff are awesome. The breakfast buffet is not to be missed! We upgraded for a Nile view. The room was nice but a little dated. Turns out there's major construction beside the Nile in front of the hotel so the view was ok. And the construction rendered it impossible to stroll along the Nile. The hotel is centrally located but there's nothing nearby that is walkable to.

I'm currently staying in this hotel. This review will be updated once my visit is complete. Cleanliness is below average in the room. Rooms smells bad. Breakfast area is not clean as well. Our table had bread crumbs on it and dirt below it. My water glass was not clean with visible sticky stuff stuck on it. Breakfast was not very delicious as well. Now, the guests in room next to mine are playing very loud music, yelling and shouting. Called reception three times and they finally informed me that they already sent security and asked them to keep it down. However, they were still loud and i complained again that I could not sleep or even relax in my own room but they informed me that they are having a wedding celebration today! Extremely not happy and will definitely never return here ever again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Kempinski Nile Hotel Cairo, and let me tell you, this place deserves more than five stars in every way possible! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Having traveled extensively both in Egypt and around the world, I can confidently say that the service at this hotel was unparalleled in excellence. The staff members were genuinely happy, always smiling, and ready to assist us with anything we needed. Our requests were handled promptly and efficiently, making us feel like true VIPs. The rooms were pristine, with cleanliness being a top priority. All the facilities were modern and in perfect working condition. I was particularly impressed by the great selection in the mini-bar, which even included complimentary soft drinks and water. It's hard to find such generosity in hotels these days. And oh, the view of the Nile from our room! It was simply breathtaking. I found myself gazing out the window at every opportunity, feeling like I was in a dream. Now, let's talk about the food. Wow! The culinary experience at the Kempinski Nile Hotel was on another level. The breakfast buffet offered a generous variety of dishes, and each one tasted exceptional. I felt like a food explorer, discovering new flavors and delights every morning. It was a true feast for the senses. The hotel's location is also quite decent, with easy access to surrounding sites. Whether you're interested in exploring the ancient wonders of Egypt or simply taking a stroll along the Nile, you'll find everything conveniently close by. In conclusion, I would not hesitate to return to Egypt just to stay at the Kempinski Nile Hotel Cairo again. It truly made my overall experience one to remember. The combination of outstanding service, pristine rooms, incredible food, and a prime location makes this hotel a gem worth cherishing. It's safe to say that my stay here was a fantastic experience, and I'll definitely be back for more!

A few small issues but overall quite good. Service throughout was very friendly, from check-in to the restaurants, and generally was on top of things except at breakfast where plates from the buffet would often pile up before they cleared them. The room was beautiful, nicely decorated and with a great Nile view, and clean. There were some small maintenance issues though, one of the doorstops came out of the floor and the cleaners didnt notice to fix it, and there was tape above the toilet door that fell down and we had to push it back in. Breakfast buffet had a huge variety, everything you could want from cold to cooked for you. The quality generally was good, but the pastries for example were just decent and forgettable.

This hotel was perfect in every way for our week long stay in Cairo. The room was super clean and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent. However, the best part was the service we received especially from all at the concierge desk who assisted us in locating our delayed baggage. Thank you to Omar, Mariam, Mina, Moustafa, Abanoub and everyone (sorry if I missed anyone) We will definitely be returning

Absolutely loved our time at this hotel. The location is perfect, all the staff go above and beyond to ensure guest satisfaction. Will definitely return to this hotel should I visit Cairo again. A small suggestion that would improve the hotel experience- a larger swimming pool and more day beds as they’re all fully occupied close to sunset :)

The rooms were nice enough and the hotel was in a convenient city location for some tourist attractions, with views of the Nile, but service was not really up to a 5* rating.

Rooms: 2 Service: 2 This is a 3 or 4 star hotel masquerading as a 5 star one. We stayed here twice in the space of one week. The first stay was fine, even though the room was too small for 3 people. They sell rooms for 3 people that are actually only double rooms, shove in an extra bed, block the use of the fridge with the bed. The view of the Nile from the room is lovely, but we had to pay extra to get it. Our 2nd stay was terrible. Once again, a too small room, they lost our reservation for the 2nd night of a 2 night stay, tried to remove is from our room and were unwilling to contact our travel agency - whom they have been working with for years- to solve the issue. They made us call them to solve the problem which was created by them. In the meantime, the restaurant wouldn’t let us charge dinner to the room, we had 2 meals where either the food came too late or our order was forgotten. Breakfast buffet is large but the food is not really tasty, unless you’re ordering a fried egg with the chef. It takes long to arrive. Special mention to the staff of the Jazz bar and chocolate lounge who were friendly and helpful and made our stay better. Without them, the hotel would have got only one star. We won’t be staying at Kempinski hotels again:

After days of trying out cheaper hotel options with horrible internet, smelly bathrooms and not getting the amenities promised to you, I just couldn’t stand it anymore. Look, it’s a Kempinski and you always know what you’re getting. They are a very consistent hotel chain. And they did not disappoint. I was able to do the work I needed to do with their very fast and consistent Internet, comfortable and well endowed room, and a perfect clean bathroom. I like Cairo a little more now that I spent the last few nights at the Kempinski!!

I do not recommend this hotel. Despite the rooms being nice, restaurants are terrible, staff are useless and they charged me twice and despite my multiple complaints and reach outs they still have failed to acknowledge my complaint and return the money they owe me…I t’s almost been a month. Go somewhere else, there’s plenty of beautiful hotels in Cairo.

#Kempinski Nile Hotel is really 5 ⭐ hotel. Located on the Nile river road. Very beautiful suite, spacious, clean, look fresh. Room with panorama Nile River view. #Blue Restaurant staff are very friendly, professional and paying attention to all guests 😍. You feel very welcomed all the way, starting from the staff at the main reception. The staff are following the proper pandemic measures and encouraging the guests in very professional way to keep the mask especially at the buffet side. 👏🏻 The buffet is very rich. You can find big varieties of fresh, clean and well presented foods. The Blue Restaurant is 5 ⭐ Restaurant. Highly recommended 👍🏻. I really enjoyed every single minutes there. #Kempenski Nile hotel becomes my favorite hotel and I will be using the same hotel and suite everytime I will visit Cairo.

The hotel ticks all the boxes superficially. Lovely roof pool with bar overlooking the Nile (which is small but all you need in between sightseeing). Comfortable rooms, decent size, very good quality buffet breakfast. The Nile rooms are great, the lower floor or non-Nile rooms, less enjoyable. Most of the staff are super nice. But they do keep making mistakes, over and over and over, and this is why I’ve given the hotel 4 stars not 5 stars as it just lacked the quality of service for a Kempinski (4.5 marks for effort, 3.5 for execution). You will be comfortable and reasonably looked after, but for me, the hotel did not give me a “warm feeling” and I would stay at a different hotel next time in Cairo

Staffs at the reception, restaurant & housekeeper were helpful & friendly. It is a safe & comfortable place to stay & it’s central location in Cairo city is very convenient. Breakfast is great. However the hotel is old with old furnitures, the carpet in the room has dark stains around the edges. Moreover, it’s definitely OVERPRICED for what you’re getting.

This hotel is very nice, well maintained, and tastefully decorated. The staff are very competent and professional. The service was exceptional. The breakfast buffet has a wide variety, and it’s one of the best I have had. The staff at the restaurant are very friendly, and hard working especially the manager Muhammad Ali, Mariam and Deanna. I have stayed in more than 10 great hotels in this trip, but this one surpassed all of them. I will definitely stay at this hotel in my future trips to Cairo.

We were looking for a luxury hotel after a week of "roughing it" in Egypt. Looked at the Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton, but they seemed comparable but dramatically more expensive. Based on our stay it is hard to imagine they could be any better. Room lovely. Internet fast and reliable. Included breakfast buffet fabulous. Two excellent restaurants. Called for extra blanket, restock fridge - very prompt service. Rooftop pool busy, but lovely. Fully equipped state of the art workout room with new/well maintained equipment (free weights, machines, treadmills, elliptical, erect and supine bikes). Lovely hour long massage in spa, $55. Needed COVID test for return, physician came to room to obtain sample, emailed results in 2 hours, lower cost that the service recommended by our tour group. Forwarded that email to concierge, who provided paper copies of COVID results. Given the remarkable quality, truly a bargain. Well done Kempinski staff and management!

The rooms were SO pricey last week when we were there. But the rooms were very clean, staff helpful, and concierge team esp Mohammed, Amazingly responsive, The bed was too hard but sheets and pillows soft. They only gave us 2 espresso pods per day, more were extra $$, for $500 a night this is just stupid and GM needs to change this rule. Garden district is a GREAT location! Very nice hotel with excellent service. Restaurant, Chocolate lounge, and wine are pricey, but it is hotel pricing. Location was good, able to walk to downtown which was nice. Breakfast was nice and the buffet included an a la carte menu which we appreciated after 6 nights. We had a very large suite which included two bathrooms and a kitchen. Oddly enough the kitchen had no cookware or dishes of any kind. We weren't planning on cooking, but if you are, bring your own. We had a city view which was not nice and the street is incredibly noisy starting about 5am.

We booked the Kempinski as our starting point for our Egypt holiday in April. Due to it's central location it was perfect for getting around Cairo. The hotel itself appears a bit dark from the inside due to it's interiour design. However it served it's purpose and the room itself was clean and practical. The roof top was really nice after our day trips and the staff was very welcoming.

One of the nicest and memorable experiences for my family. The hotel and its amenities lived up to our expectations. The breakfast was great with a wide selection of food and we ate in both their restaurants too and the food was excellent . What really made the trip fantastic we’re the staff who were genuinely attentive, friendly and helpful. Thank you to all of the employees of this hotel from ‘Mr Robin’ and his family - you made my trip a wonderful experience 🙏🏽

We stayed there for 2 nights on separate days, for both days the views of the Nile were amazing from the room. The first night wasn't as good as the second (the hair dryer wasn't working, the kettle wasn't working, and the bathtub was clogged). However, they were very attentive and came to provide another hair dryer and another kettle. The tub wasn't fixed. The second night was excellent. The room that we received was super clean, and the service was excellent. The food for breakfast is absolutely the best, so much to choose from, lots of options. The pool is small but the views from the pool are great. The food in the restaurants is also very very good. We would stay at this hotel again.

Kempinski hotel was our last stop in our honeymoon before flying home. Ahmed Hassan and his colleagues made it a wonderful experience. The suite he picked for us was amazing. The staff is very welcoming and when they knew it is our honeymoon they went far and beyond to make our short stay there unforgettable. The breakfast buffet there is probably the best in Egypt. I recommend this place with a lot of confidence. And I thank Ahmed and the staff for such an amazing hospitality.

Such a lovely place, with extremely kind, and welcoming staff. A very high scale experience that manages to still feel very relaxed and right at home. Everyone here does there best to make you feel at home and like part of the family. We had a lovely lady named Mariam make sure we enjoyed every aspect of the experience. Show less

Excellent hotel.. The lobby and entrance are not worthy of five stars.. Good services and accommodation on the Nile is excellent. If you book a view of the Nile, I am on the seventh floor and I hear the noise of cars from outside.. In general, I recommend staying in the hotel, and I ask the hotel to take care of the safety means due to the Corona virus.

Still here so this review may get updated. Initial impression is a 5 star resort but the service, in attempt to be attentive, can be a bit pushy. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds. They're small and filled with too much stuff. There is little room to open a couple suitcases or unpack a cosmetic case in the bathroom. The shower has ample pressure and hot water though the diverter valve is stuck in shower mode. I had the rack of lamb at The Blue restaurant; it was excellent. The Ceasar salad was drowned in salad dressing. The minestrone soup was so full of solids that it looked like a salad on presentation and the cream of mushroom soup was splendid. The morning breakfast buffet is amazing. There is more than enough selection to satisfy any nationality.

Very clean, beautiful, no noise around on the 9th floor although we took a nile view room. The room is very pretty and as is on the website. The mattress and pillow sheets are CLEAN... for the first time while I'm I Egypt I wasn't complaining about cleanness.

Amazing view in the Nile, very friendly staff and great serviceability. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Staff in the restaurant are especially kind and went the extra mile to make sure we tried their local specialties.
